Pretty ambivalent about this one!

I like Park Min Young – she’s one of my favourite actresses since City Hunter and Healer and she’s absolutely beautiful in this one. She has gorgeous hair, gorgeous eyes and I love her clothes. I’m okay with Park Seo Joon. He was quite a cute one in Fight My Way and he’s a good kisser on screen, I will give him that.
But my gripe with the show is that it lacks consistent pacing throughout the first half of the drama. Some episodes are just fillers and I feel like while they are bringing the sidekicks into the storyline, you can tell that their function is to supplement a thin main plot rather than to build a complete world. Oh and another gripe is that with the first 4 episodes, there are just WAY too many scenes of near-kisses. I swear I was going to pull out my hair if they did another of those oops-she-fell-on-him-he-caught-her-they-are-so-close scenes.
I would say that if you have some time on your hands, go ahead with this one and you will like it. Or if you simply just adore Park Min Young and Park Seo Joon, then just go ahead anyway. It’s not a bad show for sure! It’s a pretty good fun-watch actually. But if you have to choose, I feel like you could definitely wait a while on this one and then catch up later on when the plot actually gets good. And I can see some hope of it after Episode 8.

I don’t have much else to say in this spoiler zone, other than the fact that I do like the main plot and find it intriguing. As someone who hasn’t read the webtoon before, I want to see how the drama unfolds the question of why Young Joon pretends to be one who left the brother behind while Sung Yeon continues to victimise himself. I quite like Lee Tae Hwan, so I’m hoping he will do a good job delivering his character.
The visuals are great and I like how Mi So is so good at her job (and how horrible she was at the start – I loved that she grew into being such a capable secretary rather than being born as one). On the other hand, I wasn’t quite sure about the casting of Pyo Ye Jin as yet another clueless, helpless lady as she was in Fight My Way. Honestly, the first few episodes of her appearance were hard to watch, what with her pouting and indignant cries. But I think it gets better after she is entangled with Mr Ko.
I think this show is evidently a fun-watch and not aiming to be something else, and I think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. It’s something nice to balance out the other heavier dramas on the plate, but it might just not be as memorable.
Let’s see how the second half unfolds!

I still need to watch 10 but I’m really enjoying this drama. Like you said, it’s light on plot, but still super cute. All the almost kisses from the first few episodes didn’t bother me – I just took it as deliberately being cheesy and laughed. But it is a very shallow plot & I don’t care for the side-stories much either. To me it’s a lot like Oh My Venus and Secret Romance. Only Secret Romance was worse – so light on the plot and I got so sick & tired of all the kissing and flashbacks (never would have thought I’d complain about too many kisses before that drama).

Ooh I’ve not watched both shows to completion before – didn’t really like the first two episodes of Secret Romance because I totally felt the same way too (all the kissing). I think it’s cute too but it does feel like it would be better suited to be a 13-episode drama rather than 16 (although that being said, I’ve no clue what they have in store for us in the last 4 episodes so maybe I will take back my words.)

Park Min Young really shined with her independent spirit & her efficient cool secretary role. I loved the fact she has no qualms about saying no to PSJ eventho he’s the boss. PSJ rich parents were a hoot & would love to see more of their kooky home banter & less of the silly antics of Hwang Bo Ra. She was so hard to watch from her over the top antics-I just switch off when she comes on screen.She reminds me of Hwang Jung-Em with her screaming & overacting.
I felt Park Seo Joon did not nail the role as well as when he was in Witch Romance, Fight my Way and She was Pretty.Do not miss ‘Witch Romance’ – one of the best romance dramas – 1st episode was not as good as the rest but watch it for the super chemistry & acting of the main leads & the supporting cast. I fell hard for Park Seo Joon in all these roles.

Hello! Thanks for your comment, I’m so happy you liked it! Yeah I really enjoyed how Park Min Young brings life to Kim Mi So – secretaries are often thought of as playing second fiddle to someone in leadership but Mi So is so capable that I see how dependent Young Joon is on her and not the other way round. Hwang Bo Ra does get better in the later episodes, also because she’s often paired with quite a hilarious male character.
Ooh I’ve only previously watched Park Seo Joon in Fight My Way which I loved – I think he was perfectly casted for this show and did ease into the role, but like you, my main gripe is that the plot was just too thin. It’s a fun watch, but I’m not sure if it’s memorable.
