You who came from the stars Part ll

I finished the existing 8 episodes and I really really like this show! I get so annoyed sometimes because I stream this drama online, and the subs are just horrible. I sound like an ungrateful brat but it really grates my nerves when they miss out subtitles for an entire chunk (oh, and even worse the crime when they did it during Min Joon's lines haha). Nevertheless, with the help of recaps and other streaming sites (which I don't like as much due to the ad pop ups), I manage to finish the show and I love it. Just some of my thoughts, not written in a very coherent progression: I read somewhere previously that girls like their guys to be brooding and cool. While this statement remains debatable in reality, I suppose it holds some truth in our dramaland. And especially so when it comes to Min Joon because I just love how cool and in control he is. Then I started thinking about why I like Kim Soo Hyun's character so much. Granted, …

You who came from the stars

I love it!! Well Kim Soo Hyun was a big yes for me, having loved all of his shows so far. I was very happy to learn that Yoo In Na was acting here. Even though she will be slightly evil, but I think her role is a very dimensional and grey one which you can hardly just label her as a 'good' or 'bad' character. So far I'm on Episode 4 and enjoying every bit of it. The flashbacks are done tastefully and reveal enough without being draggy (cos flashbacks are always draggy). I shall finish the rest of the episodes in a jiffy haha. <3thoughtsramble

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!! I know this is really belated but the past week has been lots of fun. I didn't have much time to touch the other books I'm reading, mainly Nora Roberts' and Nicholas Sparks' but I can't wait to start! In the new year, I hope I will get to watch lots of nice dramas and read good books. Haha. I'm about to finish Calvin's drama, Lucky Touch, and after that I'm gonna continue on Jang Guen Suk's Pretty Boy Bel Ami! I can't really identify with Bo Tong and that sucks a bit because identifying with the leads is one major factor in drawing me into any drama. I'm so excited for Pretty Little Liars yipee! <3thoughtsramble

Lying Game series review

Truthfully I've not been very in touch with the dramaland for the past week. In fact, I have reunited with my old love — reading. For the past few days, I've been obsessed with finishing Sara Shepard's Lying Game series (the book, not the tv drama) and I love it right till the very end. There were bits that I didn't like. For example, it started falling into the same pattern every time Emma found a new suspect. She would identify someone who wasn't a bit right in the head, and then start to link every small bits of clue to the suspect. Ethan would edge her on and then they would hit a dead end when they found an alibi for the suspect. Even though I suspected that Ethan was the murderer very early on ever since the third book, it still feels like there could have been variation in the way it was written. However, I do like the fact that each time a suspect was cleared of guilt, we also learn more …

The Heirs

I've finally catched up on the last 2 episiodes of the Heirs…and I think I'm quite pleased with them. There was not much climax between the two episodes, but I love watching a good fairytale happy ending anyday, with characters that I'm pleased to watch. The finale was cute, with every pair being on marshmallows and clouds. I especially love the times when Won and Tan appear together, because I really like the casting done for these two characters — one stoic and stern, but soft at times, and the other warm and kind. They look really similar too to be honest! I wish that Hyun Joo and Won didn't have such a sad ending. Even though it makes sense, and ultimately it is Won who wears the crown and has to bear the weight of it, it still sucks because it doesn't feel like a poetic justice kind of ending. My favourite kind of ending, no matter how cliche, is that the bad guys get their bad endings (the bitch slap, or jail, or …

Pretty Boy

I'm still not getting into the groove of doing recaps sooo just gonna talk about my thoughts: Pretty Boy Bel Ami! I've watched up to halfway of Episode 5 and I quite like the show so far, but I'm concerned with how they are taking this further. It's okay to come up with the idea of Ma Te conquering each woman and learning new things each time, but I have a problem when I don't see any growth in Ma Te's character. In Episode 5, he feels for the first time how it's like to earn money with "his own strength" –but technically he didn't. It was Bo Tong's hard work and Electric Fairy's manipulation. All he did was to rub noses with Electric Fairy. Also, I think it will get rather boring if the way he is going to conquer each woman is to dazzle them, there's got to be some limit to this? Also, he's pretty infuriating the way he treats Bo Tong, like a puppy that he owns or something. If anything, …

Yay

I'm officially free nowww(: Still gonna be busy enjoying the new found freedom with friends, but I hope I will be able to spend more time here! I've finished catching up with The Heirs in the past few days, with the help of recaps, but I've decided to stop reading them around episode 12 because I figured this drama isn't thattt bad as the recap made it sound to be. I just have a small complaint — why make Ye Sol the target of school gossip? Why make her all repentant and apologetic towards Eun Sang, only to have her scoffing later on when Eun Sang reveals herself to be from the Social Care group? In that sense, I feel like this character hasn't grown at all and that's such a waste of our time and drama time which could be better spent developing other characters. She was STILL gossiping about Hyun Shin and Rachel and still had the same old scaredy-oh-no-did-she-hear-me face. I don't like that:< On the other hand, I really like Lee …

Just a bit moree

Hahaha I've been gone for way too longgg but it's just a bit more to go. In less than two months, I am gonna be freeeee and I can watch all the dramas I want to!:D Not sure if anyone still comes here, but when that time of freedom comes, I will work hard at making this place alive again^^ Just finished watching episode 18 of Just You, and I'm gonna be sad when this drama ends. It has been my only staple of drama food ever since Pretty Little Liars went on a break and I've gone from hating it (like why is she shouting again?!!) to really really liking it. Behind the scenes are just as exciting as the show itself, and watching Aaron and Puff is always a treat. Aaron and Puff are such good friends that I really hope they will keep in touch, even if they don't get together!(: Oh man, the drama blues are gonna be badddd:P <3thoughtsramble

Double Yay

The two of them are so cuteeee. I was hoping to find/screenshot high resolution photos of this particular scene but I couldn't — it's a really cute scene of Qi Yi and Liang Liang knocking their heads while squatting to pick up stuff, and Aaron/Qi Yi was like "you are an idiot". A few seconds later, Liang Liang and Qi Yi reached out for the same piece of paper and Qi Yi said "give it to me lah" which was really funny because I could almost hear the tremor of laughter underneath, which somewhat gave the feeling that Aaron was amused himself…if that makes senseXD Anyway, I read somewhere that episode 15 has achieved super good ratings. I'm so happy for Aaron!(: <3thoughtsramble

HEHE

They are so cute!! I think I've replayed the behind the scenes for about four times; it was really sweet watching both Qi Yi and Liang Liang and Aaron and Puff off screen! Now all the girls can cry in a corner and wish for a guy who would walk across the street and then stare at you with intense eyes, and pull your head close for a kiss. πŸ˜› (it was quite funny watching Aaron running after Puff though, you could almost tell that Aaron was trying to run slowly hahahaha.) <3thoughtsramble

YAYYYY

It's finally going to be here:') I always work myself into some fangirl frenzy when these scenes happen to my favourite couples (mmhmm I've grown to quite adore these two! Both Qi Yi/Liang Liang and Aaron/Puff — their behind the scenes are super cuteee) it was nice seeing Qi Yi run across the street and then give Liang Liang a passionate kiss on the lips:P I think I replayed the preview a few times hoho. At times like this I wish so much I could be writing recaps! <3thoughtsramble

BUSY

This whole month has been crazy guys(: Hope the readers who still come here are well and happy! As usual I'm still keeping up with a few favourite dramas, namely Pretty Little Liars and Just You(: Just You has improved quite considerably and I think Puff has really learnt how to tone down on the shouting. The behind the scenes are reallyyyy cute as well so you guys should totally check that out!! School is crazy:( <3thoughtsramble

Just youuu

A series of screen shots I took the other day, thinking I would have the time to write a recap, but nope:( That was about Episode 3 I think? And then it didn't compel me to watch… it's not that it's bad, but if I have only one hour of free time, and you want me to choose, I would choose Pretty Little Liars over this and Lucky Touch. And so that was the case for the past three weeks, but I have a bit of time right now and I decided to do a catch up! And it's getting better now I'm so glad:D This scene made me laugh really loud (when Liang Liang decides to help Qi Yi bathe because she caused his arm injury and I was wondering just how on earth they are gonna do it) HAHAHA. That was right after Qi Yi awkwardly told her she could scrub just a bit harder, and she scrubbed vigorously, causing him to yell, "Do you think I am a toilet bowl?!" and she …

Secretly Greatly

Just caught the movie and I must say it has left a deep impression on me. It started off with lots of comedy, and often bordered on fan service, especially when Lee Hyun Woo turned up all cute and disguised as a high school student. It did have dark undertones, when Kim Soo Hyun/Dong Gu often writes letters to his mum back in North Korea and you just get a hint that this is a relationship that might never be reunited again. I don't want to say too much in case I spoil it for anyone, but let's just say it ain't all action and comedy. I really love the acting here, especially Kim Soo Hyun's. He alternates between the village idiot and his identity as a spy without a hitch — all sane and serious while talking to his comrades, a customer comes and bam, Dong Gu the idiot takes over. It's good and it reinforces what I've said on one of those Moon That Embraces The Sun recaps, that Kim Soo Hyun is …

season 4 episode 6

It’s getting better and better and I love this, everything is more on the stakes — Ashley being arrested, Emily being framed and the crossover to Ravenswood. I love how they use a different colour filter when it comes to Ravenswood. It’s all dark and ominous and I’m really looking forward to how Ravenswood will tie in with Rosewood! I just feel sad that Caleb has to leave the PLL set, it doesn’t feel right for Hanna to be with any one else:( I guess if Caleb is more useful in Ravenswood then he should go…it is exciting though because Ravenswood has a dominant sense of regret, sadness and mystery. I can’t wait!   <3thoughtsramble Posted via LiveJournal app for Android.

Tired!

Hahaha wow time really flies! I wanted to do some recaps on Just You, or Lucky Touch, but unfortunately didn't have any time. (I know same old excuse:P) I guess it's really hard for me to do anything recap-related because I'm having really major exams this year! So I'm really looking forward to next year, when I will have more time, and maybe I can write on thoughtsramble as frequently as I have done before(: Right now, I'm focusing more on studies, but occasionally I still drop by the dramaland, what with the consistent watching of Pretty Little Liars (So tempted to start on Once Upon A Time, and Downturn Abbey!! Has anyone watched this?) and when I'm freer, Just You + Lucky Touch + uh Barbie movies. I swear Barbie movies are therapeutic and mindless entertainment hahahaha. Hopefully I can drop by again soon! Hope all of you are living life well^^ <3thoughtsramble

Just You

Okay I was still having doubts during first half, mainly because Puff (has anyone told her how bad the name is) really grates my nerves with the way she shrieks her words but…towards the end she seems to have calmed down (finally) and then I start to think that hey this drama is not bad! I see Aaron (((: (I think his acting is not bad) and I think the storyline – some parts fluff, some parts secretive, some parts nonsensical, is what I need right now. Let’s just hope that Puff tones it down ><   ❀ thoughtsramble Posted via LiveJournal app for Android.

Oh?

Oh what is this, it didn't occur to me till now that Jiro's Fabulous Boys, Calvin's Lucky Touch and Aaron's Just You are all broadcasting now:O I hope none of the dramas are actually pitted against each other:/ are they even still under the same management? <3thoughtsramble

Some classical music

Have been listening to quite a bit of classical music recently (heard that it helps in concentration but never really pay heed to it) and I discovered Por Una Cadeza! Guys, you all should really listen to this because my first thought when I heard a few bars of this is omg is this what they always use in Kdramas? and I googled it, and yep indeed it's used in Scent of a Woman! But the problem is I've never watched this drama before, so I'm pretty sure other dramas used it too/ got inspired by it or whatever — listen to it and you will know what I mean, the tension and sadness in the piece is quite often used as the background of some depressing K scene! [On a random note, Canon in D is such a lovely classical piece, I don't care that it's cliche or whatever:P] Finished the last episode of A Clear Midsummer Night…mm it's okay not too bad heh. I really like it when on screen couples are real …

Random Muse

Another two shows on my radar right now: Just You (by Aaron Yan) and A Clear Midsummer Night!   Β    The former started off okay, I mean I can never be biased against Aaron but I thought the girl lead was normal:/ like any other female Taiwanese leads…I don’t really like their accent sometimes where their voices go too high and they sound too cute. That being said, when she isn’t trying too hard to be a lively, bubbly girl, I actually quite like her. Well this is just the first episode so we will see how it goes. If I like it enough I might even recap it!(:   Β    As for the latter, I’m watching it on and off and missing many episodes in between but from what I’ve catched so far, it’s pretty good! And the main couple is a real couple in reality, who wouldn’t love that chemistry Β  Posted via LiveJournal app for Android.

Pretty Little Liars New Season!

YIPEE. And I think my current favourite pair is Spoby! I'm not ditching Haleb, no, but it's kinda hard to ship them when Caleb is out of town. I'm so sad that he's leaving Rosewood sigh, please come home Caleb. Anyway this small bit from Season 4 Episode 1 is so cuteee. "See this, it's a fork! Can you use it to eat the breakfast that your boyfriend cooked for you?" "Love the way that sounds…you calling yourself my boyfriend?" "EATTT." AWW. Spence: "Is there any more coffee?" "Argh…goes against my better judgement, but this is your last cup." I want someone to make breakfast, and pour me coffeee toooo. <3thoughtsramble

Liebster Award:’)

I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy now because dear muchadoaboutlove from thetalkingcupboard.wordpress.com has nominated me for the Liebster Award! I must confess that I've never heard of this award till now, so I think it best that I quote from her: "Liebster is a German word that can be translated as ‘dearest’ in English but it can also give various meanings, such as ‘boyfriend’ and ‘sweetheart’. ‘Dearest’ sounds the most fitting in this situation since the Liebster Award is given by the bloggers to the other bloggers. It looks like a simple chain post thingy (which was quite a hit back then) but we can also discover new blogs through the tagged bloggers." And the cute thing about this, by accepting the nomination, we will have to answer questions! Kinda like a thank-you speech: List 11 random facts about yourself. Answer the questions designated by the blogger (s) who nominated you. Place YOUR nominations for the Liebster Award! Nominate five (or more) other bloggers that have less than 200 followers. Make sure to notify them …

Gu Family Book Episode 14

It's such a pity that I can't watch this series in peace and guilt-less conscience, but here I am, just a teeny bit ridden with guilt and just finished watching the latest episode! I really love Wol Ryung's return — didn't expect it but neither did it take me by surprise. Even if he has turned into a thousand year evil spirit, I think his character will provide a greater arc to the story. Somehow watching him and Kang Chi just keeps reminding me of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, (even though I must admit I have simply no idea what happened in Star Wars), so I was really happy and glad when they scraped the 'I am your father' revelation and instead have Kang Chi know this shocking fact quite early on. How he is going to deal with this fact will be the interesting part that I am waiting to see. Wol Ryung not having aged at all is good for the fangirl's eyes^^ He's still as cool as ever, and looks good …

Gu Family Book Episode 10

It's still going along well, and is being quite a good watch(: I watched it in bits and pieces, and hence my thoughts are every where as well. Nowadays, I find myself so tired at the end of everyday, that I watch drama episodes simply for entertainment — while I'm having dinner or when I wake up in the morning. I can feel that analytical side of me going a little down the drain and that makes me a bit sad. Nevertheless, here's my two cents worth: I enjoy the interactions between Kang Chi and Yeol Woo, and I can't wait for the feelings to grow even stronger. Yet my pity for Chung Jo grows as well — she's getting stronger as a character, while still remaining true to her original determined and prideful self. I don't doubt her feelings for Kang Chi, even though Kang Chi's feelings for her may be later explained as mere pity/mistaking her for a little sister. I was waiting and am still waiting for the chemistry between Kang Chi …

Gu Family Book Episode 9

Am always so busy nowadays:( But still trying to catch up with my dramas! Currently on Episode 9, at the very front, where Tae Soo just stabs Kang Chi in the stomach. One of the servants asks, "Isn't he bleeding too much?" YEAH DUDE, HE JUST GOT STABBED THROUGH HIS BODY!! How does it make sense that he didn't die immediately:O <3thoughtsramble

Phew

I've finally caught up with Gu Family Book — love it quite a bit, but it's always such a mood-killer! The love between Chung Jo and Kang Chi is so real and I feel the chemistry, but I already feel that sense of pity towards Chung Jo because she loves Kang Chi, yet Kang Chi's true fate lies with Yeo Wool. I'm not sure where this will exactly head towards, but I guess the final kills comes when Kang Chi realises that the man who kills his father is Yeo Wool's father! Bad blood right there? What's intriguing is why the two main characters are grinning away in this poster, while the rest of the characters take such sombre faces. Feels very out of place both with the general mood of the poster, as well as the current line of plot they are taking with the drama! Heh, but if this means that they are going to have a happy ending, I will be very happy:D Currently checking out Vampire Heaven, which is that sort of a …

Gu Family Book Episode 3

I would really love to recap this series but I don't know if there's any point to it since I probably can only do them a few days- a week later from the release of the episodes… we shall see! Anyway, as I've said before, I really, really love the first two episodes — it was like a mini-drama on its own, with a full story arc, that induce a somewhat mild version of drama blues in me. The third episode is quite lovely, but feels more of a setting the stage ready for the rest of the 21 episodes and I can't wait for it! Finally our couple meets, and whether or not they will create an impact as great on me as the first couple, I would love to find out. Suzy is so pretty!! She looks great even in guy wear^^ <3thoughtsramble
