School 2013 Episode 7 Recap

I love this show so muchhh it's definitely worth writing recaps on.

It's a show with themes that while one may not have experienced before, he or she can most likely relate to. And I love it for that — the teachers' passion, the friendships, and the slight romance brewing in the corner.

EPISODE 7 RECAP!

Update~~

I'm not sure where most of my readers come from but here's an early Merry Christmas~~!

I've been spending the month taking a good rest, and also catching up on my various dramas:

Die Sterntaler — Stopped at Episode 7. Am 2/3 episodes behind and not really feeling up to it to continue because I know the heartaches are going to start, what with Xiang Qi stepping up on her game, Xiao Cai not being more courageous, Yong )Tuo being the charismatic guy he is and Yong Xiu being (annoyingly) trusting.

Cheongdamdong Alice — Currently on Episode 6. Not loving it per se, but am definitely keeping up with it because of the leads. There was too much crying from the female lead initially and I really don't like it when the male lead goes on his crazy acts, but you've gotta give it to Park Shi Hoo. He switches personalities with such ease.

School 2013 — Now this is the show that I'm really loving. Currently on Episode 6 and loving every single bit of it. I was only excited to watch it because of Lee Jong Suk (had a good impression of him from Secret Garden) and the idea of a drama focused on school themes, but the plot is grabbing my attention. The younger actors are doing a good job, and so are the teachers. I know it sounds wrong, but I'm secretly hoping for an impossible pairing between Nam Soon and Teacher Jung haizzz.

How can you not love this guy oh gosh.

So what have you guys been up to!

Die Sterntaler~

Okay so now I'm getting a bit emotionally confused — I've been rooting for Yong Xiu and Xiao Cai, even when Yong Xiu loses his memory and his temper but I must admit my heart played a little tug of war there, when Xiao Cai 'ditched' Yong Tuo and forgot about her date with him, and there he was, happily setting up a nice picnic (though Yong Tuo is still too player for my liking right now…too sweet in a bad way).

Yeo Jin Goo and Kim So Hyun Interview 121112

Hmm….while I remain a shipper of Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Yoo Jung (hehehe), I think Yeo Jin Goo and Kim So Hyun make a pretty cute couple as well~ Snippets of interview:

m23

YJG: I felt sorry towards SH during the filming of Moon That Embraces The Sun, because there was one scene when I had to knock into her shoulder very loudly before walking out
Interviewer (towards SH): Did you know that he felt sorry? Or is this your first time hearing it?
SH: Oh..I've heard it once before.

m24

Interviewer: So did you ask for any material compensation?
SH: (laughs shyly, doesn't know how to reply, YJG and Interviewer laugh)

—-

(After showing Yoo Jung's interview when the interviewers asked about her and Jin Goo)

YJG: Yoo Jung's character…mm how do you describe..she has a very lively personality, and even plays daring pranks…a very happy-go-lucky girl like a friend. So Hyun on other hand is slightly quieter, and has an opposite personality but still has its charm.

m25

Interviewer: You have not contacted Yoo Jung recently?
YJG: (laughs and flusters at the suddenly question) I…I..have not been in much contact recently.
Interviewer: (as if Yoo Jung was there) Yoo Jung ah, what do we do, sorry ah~ Jin Goo Oppa's heart is going towards So Hyun~

m26

HAHA.

Interviewer asks SH what her memorable scene with JG is, and she answers with the scene by the flickering light. Interviewer follows with a question, "Did you all feel embarrassed?"

SH: (calm) I didn't feel awkward or anything.
Interviewer: Oh…SH has no evil thoughts about JG (JG pretends to protect himself by putting his arms around himself. Lol~)
YJG: (laughs) I felt a little awkward. Actually, I feel awkward looking at anyone straight in the eye as long as it's a female.
Interviewer: Aren't you looking at me just fine~ Think about it, what if you are looking at your Aunt or something~

—-

At the end,

SH: Miss you —
YJG: Please give us your guidance!

m27

Awkward moment as they put their hands together LOL.

—-

So what do you guys make of this pairing~? To be very honest, I still prefer Hwon/Yeon Woo over Jung Woo/Su Yeon, even though both acting pairs had great chemistry, and they did such a great job at the childhood parts of the whole show.

This is just my opinion, but I guess if I must put a finger on it, it might have something to do with the feeling that Jung Woo's tears over Su Yeon partly came from the fact that the girl got raped because of him. Hwon and Yeon Woo convince me that they had true love at that young age, but Jung Woo's love for Su Yeon seems to be mixed in with immense guilt. We are talking about two different dramas of course, and hence I should not be comparing the love presented in both childhoods, but oh well~ Just a thought anyway.

Die Sterntaler

ds

I was really, seriously thinking of recapping this series — I absolutely love the male-female pairing this time, what with the cute, good-looking guy and the innocent, sweet girl. Perfect. The catch is, it's a remake of Spring Days which could probably make the list of my disliked-dramas-of-all-time. That's saying a lot. I'm a HUGE shipper of second leads, anyone who has read my reviews/recaps long enough should know that very well but that was one drama where I totally hated the pairing:( I remembered feeling disapproval at the korean female choosing a guy that looks so much younger and immature than her (sorry, I was shallow then). I definitely remembered shouting "Noooo, please tell me I've guessed wronggg," when I pre-empted the female's lines about how the older brother taught her how to smile, but it's the younger brother who taught her how to cry. And if that's the reason for you to choose the younger brother, I don't know what to say. (On the other hand, I really love these lines from a drama which I can't remember. Annoying Suitor: Follow me, I will make sure that you will never cry a tear again. Girl: If I follow you, I might always smile, but I won't cry in front of you…because I will only cry in front of the person I love. <3)

And so, I'm stuck in a dilemma. I'm caught in between not watching this drama at all and just wait till the ending to see if it might be a different ending, and following it through because I swear Yong Xiu and Xiao Cai are such a cute and sweet couple I loveee it.

Any of you all watching this?

Nice Guy Episode 20

ng6

I finally brought myself to watch the last episode (yes, the episode has been hatching on my computer for a week) and I LOVE IT.

Just a few thoughts here and there — On the whole, I’m very pleased with how everything ties up, and the directing. I like how Maru’s prayers seem to end at the point when he collapsed in the park, but picked up again with a hopeful tone, with a delightful twist at the end. And while I’m not exactly sure, I would like to believe that yes indeed Maru has all his memories and that he does remember Eun Gi. If you guys recall, the couple rings were the ones that he bought way back when he wanted to give Eun Gi (and he found out that Eun Gi recovered all her memories). It seems quite likely that he has kept these rings all along, and I love that touch.

I think the crush Jae Shik has on Secretary Hyun is a bit weird though cute, because I was hoping that things will work between Secretary Hyun and Joon Ha lol. It would be nice if they address the issue of Tae San, so that we know what exactly happens to the company that everyone was fighting over for the most of the drama.

This drama is full of little details that I love, love. Did you guys notice the opening where the time spins forward instead of backwards, and that Maru is actually smiling through his tears? And if one remains sceptical of the happy, lucky ending, all I can say is — the guy has been through enough tragedy to warrant all of this happiness.

Throughout the entire drama, I’ve been hoping that Maru would lose his memory because that’s the only way that he can get a new start with Eun Gi. Heck, I just wanted him to be happy, because I’ve never met such a tragic guy. And in a sense I got everything I wanted, his last words “I’m happy” just strikes a bittersweet chord in my heart somewhere.

Eun Gi & Maru(:

Nice Guy Episode 19 Stills

I can't take it. The two are so adorable, both Song Joong Ki + Moon Chae Won, as well as Eun Gi and Maru.

Just look at that guy smiles!

Episode 20 has been out a few hours ago, but yes like all sad us who don't understand enough Korean, we shall have to wait for subs. SUBS PLEASE.

The cast's acting really has me being involved in the show the entire time. The telephone scene between Maru and Eun Gi was so poignant, I couldn't help but cry/tear. And then at the end of it all, I can't help but just really want Maru to be happy.

Future~

Hoho I've been utterly hooked on Innocent Man, but I don't think I will pick it up as a recapping series — purely for entertainment purposes. Regardless, I am impressed with Song Joong Ki's acting! He shows a maturity that is way different from that of Gu Yong Ha in Sungkyunkwan Scandal and I love it.

Currently, I have my eye set on Priceless, Koukou Nyushi, Monster as well as Die Sterntaler! I would really love some comedy but I'm not very inclined towards To The Beautiful You :/ Not entirely sure if I will continue with Die Sterntaler as well since it is a remake of Spring Days and I remembered that I abhorred the ending. So. It has been some time since I've a drama that I lost my head over. The last time was Moon That Embraces The Sun…I wonder when will the next drama come along?

Ratings

Has been something that is on my mind recently.

Are ratings really that important, and are they a good reflection of the show's quality, or even the show's popularity? You might have guessed already, that this post is triggered by Alice in Wonder City. I really do think that it deserves a higher rating than it has right now (which is below 1 I think) — is it really comparable to Momo Love which suffered from the same ratings, and is it really much worse than other shows like Down With Love?

For a show's quality, the ratings can always be masked with the casts' popularity. You have a few hotshots, mediocre acting, passable script and you can survive with not-bad-ish ratings. But even a show's popularity can't be determined from ratings. Taiwan has a rather flawed system of installing track devices in a small number of televisions, so their percentages are all really based on a small population of people. Also, if you think about it, who controls the remote? Most often than not, it's the mother. Youths and even young adults probably just head online to watch whichever episodes they are interested in. Then, we have slot timings. Is it really fair to compare television shows of a golden time, where it's night but not sleeptime, to a slot timing such as ten on a Sunday night, where students need to sleep and get ready for school the next day? You might point out that they also compare shows of the same slot timing from different channels, but that just brings me to a full circle to my first point — the one that triumphs most often than not is based on popularity, or even a popular line of plot. Admit it, we all go gaga over the same kind of cliche plots — if a drama with that plot has attacked tons of viewers, most likely the next drama with just a few tweaks here and there will get the same effect.

Nevertheless, good ratings are always encouraging! And shows that have good ratings, such as Fated to Love You, do deserve those ratings. Autumn's Concerto fared well too. My Queen wasn't bad either. Yet, much as I'm an equal fan of both City Hunter and Moon That Embraces The Sun, I would think that it's hardly fair that City Hunter got half the ratings of Moon That Embraces The Sun, despite both having good ratings. City Hunter had a good plot, good action, good acting and hardly any shaky parts, but Moon That Embraces The Sun had a simple plot with shaky middle bits, instead thriving mainly on its cast of good actors.

My point is, should we really cite ratings as any form of substantiation for how good a drama is? True, I guess when you have a good drama with good ratings, it's cause for celebration, but should ratings serve to prove how bad a drama is? Can you ever say, oh don't watch that show, it sucks, the ratings are sooo bad?

It's a topic that bothers me every time I feel unfair for any drama, hence the ramble of thoughts above. But really, how many of you guys feel the same way as I do? I'd love to hear comments((:

Pretty Little Liars Summer Finale

So has anyone watched the finale yet? IT'S AWESOME.

I've no time to write out a recap, but here's just some of my thoughts included under the spoiler tag!

AH:((( I knew it that Caleb will be shot. I mean dude, did no one teach you not to put down a gun when a pyschopath is still alive and twitching? I'm just hoping that he will survive the shooting. He better be. Nate is dead, but that means whatever he knows goes down to the grave with him. I'm just thinking, what if when A said that he/she owes Emily one, it was referring to killing Nate? I've been reading a few speculation theories online and apparently Marlene King has confirmed that Toby has no good intentions right now. Really?:( that might just be a vague answer thrown out to distract us, because when Toby hugged Spencer and they shot a scene of him, he looked conflicted and determined and sad, not hateful. But one of the speculation theories I've liked is that Toby was on the team all along, which explains why they wanted to recruit Spencer as an A member. However, I don't want to doubt Toby's love for Spencer, and I do think that he loves her!

On the other hand, I wish that Caleb will be given more depth in his role/ a change in the character because he's starting to be a too-repetitive character. He's just this nice, devoted guy who wants to protect Hanna at all costs, and sometimes he's not too smart about it. I don't know, but I'd love to see more of those computer-cracking skills, or some bad-ass quality.

Looking forward to the Halloween Special!

Fangirl

HAHA thoughtsramble isn't just a site for me to post recaps, but also mainly to fangirl. And here's my fangirl post of the month…on Aaron!

No guys, seriously if you can understand Mandarin, you should always watch behind the scenes, that's when you fall in love with the actors themselves and not just the characters. I really started liking Aaron after Love Buffet. True, Ah Yi is so sweet, but the real deal is looking at how playful Aaron is, and that's what makes me follow on with the other shows. And I've been watching behind the scenes for Alice in Wonder City, and I'm so glad that he's still as cheeky as ever. If anything, I think it's something innate, rather than produced. I've watched behind the scenes for Miss Rose as well, and try as they might, the leads weren't able to be very funny off set. I sat there watching, and found myself laughing for a grand total of… one time. That's when I realise that behind the scenes are so important, and that Taiwanese Dramas almost always have loads of them available to the audience. Which is really smart if you think about it.

Haha, and they're just so cute — Aaron and Lara, to make a passionate kissing scene and a bed scene afterwards into something funny and cute. I would 'recap' it if I could, but I'm not exactly sure of the demand, so we shall see!

Aaaah~

I MISS YOU GUYS:((((

What dramas are you all watching now? I'm still on the heels of Alice in Wonder City and Pretty Little Liars. Not much time to churn out anything at all but well, at least I've the time to watch a few episodes here and there, which is always good.

A Miracle for Alice Episode 1

I'M BACK IN BUSINESS. Haha okay, not really.

Remember me saying a while ago that there's a drama that I would really want to catch? Yep, that's A Miracle For Alice. There's a reason why I'm so hyped up about this show. Okay reasonS. First and foremost, we have Aaron Yan. -cue fangirling- Thoughtsramble has been peppered with fangirling posts over Aaron here and there, and if you want to know why I like him so much, check out Love Buffet recaps! And then, we have one of my favourite actors as the second male lead, Xiu Jie Kai, and I'm very happy about it. I'm feeling rather neutral towards the two female leads, but!!!! This show was advertised as somewhat similar to Nodame Cantabile -cue another round of fangirling- and that both male leads would be playing the violins -cue faint-.

I mean that's like the best combination everr. My favourite actor playing one of my favourite musical instruments in a plot that takes the drift of another drama that I love. Need I say more?

Obviously my schedule is still hectic:( but I managed to catch half an episode thus far.

When he first appeared.

HIM PLAYING A VIOLIN.

And then smiling.

Aaah. I'm definitely on this ship and I would loveee to recap this series. Except I don't usually recap first few episodes of any drama series, and I want to find better streaming quality before I embark. Not to mention that I do have an examination coming my way. But if this show does not go too bad, I mean we are talking about very low standards right here because I don't think I will ditch any show that has Aaron in it, I'm having a lot of fun watching this.

Ah, feels good to be typing here again.

<3thoughtsramble

Hey there(:

Now I suppose some of you might have seen this coming…and yes I'm going to take a long but temporary break from thoughtsramble.

Remember how I always get sporadic rants and emo-times last year to the start of this year, when I worry about how I have to leave this place before I could see myself fulfilling the maximum potential of the site? Yeah, and even though it isn't exactly that point of time where I have to leave completely, this is perhaps a small taste of what is to come. By a 'long but temporary break', I don't mean that long, I might even be back next week, but I don't want to keep you guys wondering where I will be, should I NOT be able to come back next week.

So I've decided to just write a proper post. This year, I've moved on to a different school environment that has probably twice the workload. To make things 'worse', I've taken up a new commitment in school and that takes up a whole lot of time. And having moved into a different environment, I'm trying hard to juggle both the old friends and the new friends, so any extra time I might have will be spent talking, chatting, bridging the gaps in our busy lives…which leaves me with absolutely no time to watch any dramas (ooh but I just caught up with King2Hearts!:D) so I can't even write reviews, not to mention recaps.

Yeah it sounds like I'm going to disappear and leave this place to rot…but the thing is, I'm not willing to let it go just yet. This place has been my baby for close to two years, and I've made some amazing friends through here. And I WILL continue to post, at any chance should I be able to watch something and want to share with you guys. Ultimately, I guess what I mean is that I want you guys to continue checking, keep checking, please if you still like thoughtsramble, but should you come back again and again and still see the same old post at the top, please don't be upset.

There are a couple of dramas that I've been waiting FOREVER, so I might put aside time to watch them and recap no matter what. As my favourite phrase goes, "We shall see."

Sorry!

<3thoughtsramble

Sigh, enough excuses made — I must admit, I'm getting a bit lazy. School has snowballed, I've taken up a mega huge commitment in real life, and there are a couple of things that I need to face in the coming weeks, which means that I really do not have much energy left to watch any dramas, much less recap or review on anything.

Strangely, I'm in a very zen mood about this. The past me might have been quite affected, seeing that no updates means lack of responsibility to my readers, and on the practical side, less readers, but I really hope you guys will understand where I'm coming from. I'm not taking a long break though, but seeing as how this temporary silence is the longest inactive period I ever had, I feel obliged to at least pop by and make some noise. Give me a couple of days more, and I think I might be able to come up with something when weekends arrive.

In any case, don't stop coming/commenting or whatever! Love you guys ❤
