The Moon That Embraces The Sun Episode 3

I love this episode to bits!

Knowing what will come next, all the plotting, tears and all (My heart sucks at those, this is why I almost never watch period dramas because I just couldn't take all the plotting. Too many regrets for me lol), it makes watching the childhood part more meaningful! It's a very bittersweet kind of feeling.

I really smiled when I watched this:

This kind of family…such warmth and unity in the way the parents treat their son and daughter, and vice versa. I reallyyy hope nothing happens to this family. If the scriptwriters decide to pull a Dae Jang Guem plot on me where basically all the nice people die here and there (I will never forget Lady Han lol), I WILL PULL SOMEONE'S HAIR. (Okay you know I'm kidding:D)

Right. The thing is, I almost always ship second leads because I love (it's just my character, I can't help it)/ pity them when they did everything they could do to help the girl, without asking for anything. Actually, it might just all boils down to me liking a male lead that will face a lot of difficulties in his relationship with the girl. Does that sound right?

And so right now, it's hard for me to sympathise with Yang Myung because the plot focuses mostly on the relationship between Hwon and Yeon Woo and tells us that they aren't going to have a smooth sailing relationship like Cinderella and Prince Charming did. Even the King felt bad for Yang Myung. I'm rather sure if Yang Myung hadn't told the King about his crush on Yeon Woo, Hwon might not get the order of not meeting Yeon Woo ever again. Then yet again, Hwon now knew that by meeting with Yeon Woo, he would be implicating a lot of things, which explains the dilemma he had, in wanting to protect her and seeing her.

In all, I think I never had it easy for me. Perhaps, when the plot veered towards showing how Yang Myung helped Yeon Woo get together with Hwon, I might just root for Yang Myung. Such is my life, when I usually get my heart broken along with the jilted guys…

This smile really got me!<3

And the three.

I'm burning a fever, so I can't start on Episode 4, but I'm excited:D

The Moon That Embraces The Sun

I'm writing this as the fourth episode loads on my computer. Anddd I must say I'm really hooked! This feeling is just greattt, because I've not gotten hooked on a KDrama for ages, probably since City Hunter.

I must say, I didn't feel that interested at first, because the casting didn't have anyone I like, and of course, I wouldn't know or be able to predict where the story goes, but after three episodes in, here are my thoughts:

(Listed, as usual. I'm sorry heh, thoughtsramble has something for lists.)

1. Usually I can't really stand watching the childhood bits of dramas. They draw out and drag the pace of the drama most of the time, and you don't know what's the point of them. But! (with an exclamation point) this is different. The actors for the young characters are really good, because they act so naturally, and bring out their characters so well, I would be entirely satisfied just watching them for the whole show! In fact, I shall admit that I'm having a really stupid 'fear' that once they switch over to the adult actors, I might not like the characters so much. It's probably an unfounded fear, I know, but the actors make the characters, and right now, I really love Hwon, Yeon Woo, Heo Yeom and Chae Woon!

2. I don't really have a penchant for period dramas, and after setting up thoughtsramble, the only other period drama I've watched is probably Sungkyunkwan Scandal…which on hindsight, wasn't that good to me. I remembered that I could barely get past the first six episodes. Hopefully, I will love this period drama, and wow, I actually look forward to recapping it!

3. For the rare times in my life, I'm not shipping the second lead. :O I really like Yang Myung, but I like Hwon even more, in a different way. Maybe when the plot develops and I see how heartbroken Yang Myung is going to be, I will have a change of mind, but right now, I just want Hwon and Yeon Woo have a happy childhood together…which we know isn't going to happen. Sigh~

Any of you guys watching this?:D

Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata ~Ending Planner~ Episode 1

Omgggg. I really want to kill technology right now. I typed out an entire recap, only to have Livejournal screwed up on me. So. I really can't type this all over again, because it was a realllyy long recap, so here's just caps that I've taken.

Pardon me, I rarely swear, but screw you Livejournal. (It was partly my fault, but is it only me who hates the autosaved draft function? It posed so many problems a year back. That time, I had the stamina to re-type the entire recap twice, and even thrice, but now…)

I'm so sorry. But, I promise to write a recap for episode 2! I usually don't start from the first episode anyway.

What do I think about this? I think that I will come to like this drama. It has themes like acceptance, separation, life and death and as long as the scriptwriters don't mess it up, I think it can be a really great drama! Even though I highly doubt any Yamapi's work will top my love for Buzzer Beat, but I will keep an open mind for this(:

On a side note, I find it really cute that Eikura Nana and Yamapi are collaborating again after Proposal Daisakusen(:

If any of you guys really need this recap, do drop a comment. I will think about it. (:

I FOUND A DRAMA!!

Yes that really calls for some celebration… I'm currently quite hooked on Tong Flowers Love! I'm not sure if it was famous or what, but I like the casting and the plot sounds okay-ish to start with, so there's no harm starting.

I would love to do recaps actually…but we shall see, since I'm planning to do recaps on 2 series already.

Updates

Hey there~

It seems like I've been really busy frolicking around in Dramaland, but at the end of the day, there isn't anything that is worth posting entire entries to, so I shall just list:

  • Got myself swimming in mangaland for the first time: Got introduced to really good mangas which I love and will recommend to anyone out there, looking for a good shoujo, yet interesting manga –> The One, Ao Haru Ride and Fifty Rules For Teenagers
  • Not very interested in any Asian Dramas as of the moment. After I finished Nazotoki, I've not started any Jdramas yet. I was in a Kdrama slump for a very long time, and Colour Of Woman didn't work out for me, so I'm going to take my time to rediscover my love for kdramas. It seems like after City Hunter, I've yet to fall in love with any Kdramas hmm.
  • That being said, I'm going to take a shot at The Moon That Embraces The Sun and Wild Romance….not getting my hopes high though.
  • Wow, I'm also in a Taiwanese Drama slump…not interested in Skip Beat (yet?) because I don't really feel anything towards the plot and the casting, and same goes for Ring Ring Bell
  • So that only means that I've been happily indulging in other shows like Sherlock Holmes Season 2 produced by BBC. Lovely show! I like the plot much better than the Hollywood films.
  • Getting started on first episode of Sign…so far so good, but…I don't feel any great attraction towards it, not like the insane unconscious chant of next episode, next episode, next episode, which I know so many of us fall prey to.
  • Which means that being quite bored, I decided to watch Buzzer Beat again for the nth time! My all time favourite show everrr.

There, that's how I spent my week. The mangas were extremely fruitful and satisfying, but being a drama addict, I'm still thirsting for a good drama. I'm in my picky mood, for goodness knows how long.

Pretty Little Liars Season 2 Episode 14 Recap

Before I start rambling, I realise that this is highly irregular for thoughtsramble to even consider recapping an American series. But there you have it, I'm all ready to start rambling (in fact I'm reallyyy impatient to do so). I understand that most recaps are out there already, since this episode was released quite some time ago, and fans should be ready to watch it the moment it's uploaded, but whatever, I figured that I need a place to rant and fangirl, so yup!

And omg I loveeee this episode. If you have watched it already, comment! If not, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR:D

RECAP:D

Gah, I'm running out of things to watch! I'm patiently waiting for Pretty Little Liars to be released on 2nd Jan, kinda dropped Future Diary and Phi Brain (not in the mood right now) and watching Colour of A Woman! But it isn't terribly interesting; I'm only hanging on for Jae Hee, and to watch Byun So Ra (hopefully) transforms because I know that the actress is quite pretty! I'm thinking of Padam Padam because I loveeed Kim Bum from Boys Over Flowers, but he's the second lead :/

Suggestions anyone?? I think I'm in a particularly picky mood right now.

Looking back on 2011

I felt that it was apt to have come up with such a list, especially since we're nearing the end of 2011. I thought of how I could present it best – Should I separate each drama/movie into different categories by order of the nature of the show, or what…and in the end, I've decided to simply place them under 2 categories: Hit or Miss.

Here are all the dramas/movies that I've watched! Possibly a very short list compared to most drama bloggers out there, but I think I did okay, seeing as how much work I've juggled.

The List

Right before the last episode/Halloween’s special…

Oh yes, I've finished yet another 10 episodes in one day, and whoooo I can't wait to get started on the last episode!! I feel so glad that I started on this late; I can't think how you guys manage to wait since October for the next half of Season 2 to be released! I'm not too sure on this, but I read that it's going to be coming out in early Jan? Yayy.

I'm putting this under the cut because I took too many screen caps for this to be a short post, and also I didn't want to spoil any episodes for anybody. SO please don't click on this unless you are completely sure you want to spoil the suspense for yourself. But for you guys who have already watched this, PLEASE JOIN ME! I'm a little too late on the uptake of fangirling over this yes, but better late than never right? 😀

Pretty Little Liars!

Pretty Little Liars~~

Hey you guys must be prepared that you will see major spam-mage of posts on this, because it's the only series that I'm currently watching crazily (i.e loading episode after episode, after episode). Here's a couple of things that I felt (note: major spoilers if you haven't watched Season 1!) :

1. OMG I'm majorily creeped out by Season 2. My friend wasn't kidding when she said that it was better, and arghh all the mysterious/dangerous things A is doing to the four girls is really getting to me. Maybe I should stop watching this late into the night, where I start to hallucinate that someone is watching me from the windows.

2. Accidentally read a couple of spoilers on Wiki, heh 😛 From which I found out that whoo hoo Wren is coming back!! (Yes I finally found out the spelling of his name ._.) and that Spencer shared a kiss with him. Can't really decide who I'm siding here, because I like Toby and Wren both!! Okay and this is really premature thinking, because I've not even seen the scene yet.

3. Finallyyy, omg you know why I'm not a fan of Mr Fitz and Aria? That's because I see a lot of simple solutions for their relationship that could just stop A from stepping in! And it's like finally Mr Fitz could think of teaching college instead, so that Aria wouldn't be his student anymore, and that evil Noel can stop his evil schemes. Okay, I know I'm being a little harsh here. After all, it takes time to search for a new job opening blah blah blah, yep, I do understand…but then I don't know, it makes me less invested in their relationship, because I don't see many problems with it in the first place.

Oh right, though the fact that A could actually sneak into his house and take a picture creeped me out entirely. I think I need to start finding synonyms for 'creeped out'.

4. Haha, during this fangirling discussion, we found out that my favourite couple is hannaxcaleb, while my friend's was tobyxspencer. That got me thinking on why I just couldn't really root for tobyxspencer yet. I know, they're a really cute, loving, understanding couple, but I figure out that it's because I really miss the friendship Toby and Emily had, and I think that it wasn't nice to ignore that aspect while developing the romance between Toby and Spencer. Of course, I feel better now that Emily and Toby went back together to be good friends/really close friends, so I guess I can start rooting for Toby and Spencer then (*coughs* though you should know who is my top favourite couple)!

Done. Oh wow, I didn't realise my thoughts will be that long.

I saw a couple of comments on Pretty Little Liars already, but haven't gotten down to reading/replying them! Can't wait to do so though, I love companionship in fandom.

Oh OH did I mention how happy I was when I saw Caleb sitting Hanna's kitchen? 😀

Pretty Little Liars/ Tyler Blackburn

Indeed, gosh has it only been one day that I've watched 10 episodes? It has been a long time since I did that, and it feels greaaaat. Yep, that means I've finished Pretty Little Liars Season 1:D And I got Season 2 Episode 1 all loaded and ready to go on my computer.

Which also means that I'm not entirely sure what is considered spoiler-free and spoiler-ful anymore. So I will leave it up to your discretion kay. I love writing about how I feel, but I wouldn't want to spoil the episodes for any of you guys((:

SO!! Gotta be my favourite couple so far:

Caleb Rivers and Hanna!!<333 Actually to be honest, even though my friend has been telling me how great Pretty Little Liars was for ages, I didn't really want to get down to it, thinking that it's just going to be that usual American drama where there's lots of grope and romp which I hate. Then I got bored and the usual thing, but I still wasn't that ready to start, till I see related GIFs made on Tumblr and whoosh there I go loading Episode 1.

So which means you can also say that right from Episode 1, I've been waiting for the appearance of Tyler Blackburn, and yes I'm talking about that famous bathroom scene.

IS HE GOOD LOOKING OR WHAT?? Lol my screen shots don't even do the entire scene justice, you guys should either check out the real scene or GIFs. Basically Hanna allowed Caleb to use the shower, but didn't expect her mother to return so soon, so she was forced to pop into the same shower as Caleb and pretend that she was the one using the shower.

I loveee this scene and when I thought about it afterwards, I realise it might be because it was kind of like a cross between the Asian and American drama thing. Pardon the stereotypical situations, but it will be more than likely that if this was an Asian Drama, it will be all awkward and lots of shrieking&shouting&omg-you've-seen-me-naked?!!!, and if it was a usual American drama, the next thing we should see was Hanna and Caleb trying to get each other's clothes off. :/ I concluded that the cool, slightly nonchalant "Do you want to share a towel too?" remark from Caleb and the fact that nothing happened after that set a very nice tone to the whole scene. ❤

Though well…technically, this scene did lead to them having a steamy kiss half an episode later, but that's not the point:D

Also, I think that Aria's younger brother looks really good. Darnnn why is he only just a younger brother.

And er, it's not like I didn't warn you, look at the title of this post lol —

Heh. It's really quite rare that I like guys with long hair actually. The only other character that I can think of was Ling from Mars (woah major love on that. Mars remains in the top favourite dramas after all these years)

AND since Lucas was seen driving Caleb back, this means I'm going to see more of Caleb, right? Right. It better be so.

Merry Christmas/Merry Christmas Eve to you guys out there!

Samurai High School

A really long ago drama, filmed in 2009 with Haruma Miura and Shirota Yu.

Didn't really want to watch it last time, when I was checking out the dramas that Shirota Yu had appeared in before. The story starts with me liking Haruma Miura now and am desperate to watch something of him. I mean, can you blame me?

So I finished up with the drama he acted in with Toda Erika, and decided to move on, till his cameo appearance in a tv special of Hi wa Mata Noboru.

Wahhh. I can't resist it. I would have checked out Hi wa Mata Noboru immediately, except I'm not really sure if him not being the main lead would make the show less interesting.

So I decided to go back to Samurai High School.

Shirota Yu! Being all geeky and speaking like a kid.

But this, this —

LOL. I simply can't help but burst out laughing. Omygawd, I didn't know Haruma Miura was such a versatile actor!

Anyway, I finished with Samurai High School a long time ago, but didn't get down to writing a review on it. I remember that I wasn't really lovingggg it but I like it because it did make me laugh (Haruma Miura just wins here) and he looks really cool whenever he transforms into the samurai guy (all the low voice and half-tied ponytail. Yay) I feel like laughing just by remembering one of the really funny scenes ( really burst out laughing when he made his 'horse' ride away and all the other students followed after him)

Okay fine. This wasn't so much of a review on Samurai High School, but looking at the few caps made me want to share them!

So if you ask me, I don't know, I don't think that the show is a must watch, but it will be entertaining enough, especially if you have watched Haruma Miura's shows before, or are a fan of Shirota Yu.

What do you think?

Pretty Little Liars

This was a drama that was recommended by a friend, and to date (i.e Season 1 Episode 12) I still pretty much love it!

If anything, I fell in love with the main theme song, Secrets by The Pierces. It's utterly hooking and creepy.

4 girls who became friends again when they started receiving messages from this mysterious person named A.

This A seems to know all their secrets, secrets that only Allison, their friend who had mysteriously disappeared for a year and later to be found dead, would know.

I love this look that Aria gives.

So our four main leads are:

Spencer — initially threatened by A because she seemed to have something for her sister's boyfriends (mainly Ian and Rann -spelling  I'm unsure of-) As of now, she seemed to be perfectly happy with Alex so A's trying to break the two of them up.

Sigh. I really like Rann. I wish she stuck with him, instead of moving on to Alex zzz.

Emily — threatened by A because she's a gay. Kinda resolved because now her friends&family knew about it. I'm sure a new complication would come up soon though.

Aria — threatened, and currently still being threatened, because of her relationship with her English teacher, Mr Fitz. I'm not really a fan of this romance.

I rather she goes with Noel, except that he went along and threatened Mr Fitz for a better grade because he knew about Aria&Fitz. EVILLLLL.

Hanna — threatened because she stole from a store, currently threatened because her mum 'borrowed' money from her client (meaning she stole the money too)

I kinda really like Hanna. She's probably my favourite character out of the four.

Allison — the leader of the group and the one who made her friends felt special, so that they felt inclined to tell her secrets.

I think the show did a pretty good job till now! I'm not sure if you guys know, but I'm definitely not a fan of characters jumping onto bed to have sex like ten times throughout the whole show. Not my type. Which is why the number of American dramas I've watched could be counted with one hand (er….two fingers actually –> Prison Break and The Ghost's Whisperer) but I can take passionate kissing, and it's nice to watch 'school-themed' drama once in a while (didn't really want to get started on Glee so yep..) I  read a criticism somewhere (probably on Wiki) that this seemed more like a bad cross between Gossip Girl&I Know What You Did Last Summer, but for me, I think it was a nice cross.

There was enough entertaining romances to keep the plot going, and the thriller bits are good enough for me. Not much tolerance for creepy shadows, and footages filmed from inside Spencer's closet etc. Brr. I just really wish that it wouldn't become a same repetitive structure even all the way to Season 2 and 3!

ALSO, I like Toby right now. I'm all right with Emily being a gay but how I wish that Toby can find a nice girl too! Instead of Jenna.

Ugh, the song has been in my head for ages

Cos two can keep a secret if one of them is dead

Have any of you guys watched this?

IM BACK

After quite a long break, I need a few days to get on track with all the dramas that I've been missing out, and I promise I will get down to replying the comments in a few hours!(((: It's nice to come home to comments hehe.

I will probably do a few more posts in the next few days because right now I feel like it:P

What a short post. Lol.

More updates!(:

Hey guys!(:

I'm so glad that I managed to finish In Time With You recaps before I go on a holiday, and yes I'm going on a holiday!(: Shush on where I'm going, but I'm pretty excited about it. This means that I will be absent for a very, very short period of time, probably just a week…but I wouldn't want you guys to think this is a temporary break or something!

I've been catching up with an American drama, Pretty Little Liars, and so far I loveee it. Putting aside the cute and good looking guys, I thought the creepy elements were well done! I just hope that they would be able to come up with a satisfactory explanation as to who on earth A was. Favourite guys right now are Toby and the ex-fiancé of Melissa (not really a huge fan with Mr Fitz…besides I don't get it why it must be either a break up or a risk-all dating kinda thing. Why can't they just hold it off until she graduated from high school or something? Or be older, at least, so that he wouldn't risk being in jail for doing anything to a minor) Favourite girls….not really, I like all of them equally, and obviously I'm the most concerned about the romances. 😛

Also, I'm still watching Future Diary and have also started on another anime, which I've blazed through the existing episodes (surprise surprise) called Phi Brain. Both are entertaining enough(:

So yeah, that's about it. See you guys soon!

<3thoughtsramble

Future Diary…among other updates

So yep, after my post about taking it easy on livejournal, I'm indeed taking a break. But that doesn't mean my anime-watching and drama-watching have come to hiatus as well! Of course not.

I've been watching Future Diary, which is an anime about how twelve people are chosen to be in this game where they have to kill one another until only one survives and goes on to become the God of Time. The story follows Yuno, a boy who always writes in his diary (phone) and is appalled to find out that what he thought he had imagined, Deus, is actually the real God of Time. His phone soon has the ability of predicting the future, but he finds out that the other eleven people have different forms of diaries as well!

Not the best synopsis that I can give you here, but I can tell you three words about it:

Psychotic, Creepy, Good

Oh well, it wasn't thaaaaat brilliant (sorry, forever biased towards Kindaichi:D) but it sure is damn creepy. Especially with Yuki, a girl who is also a Future Diary Owner, and who obsesses with Yuno. When I say she obsesses, she really does. 0.0

So I would recommend it. Yep.

On to Man Of Honour,

Screencaps here -aint gonna ever appear in recaps

If only

I have been thinking hard about this, and I realise that it has been inevitable all along.

Yep that same old line about: Not Enough Time.

It has come to a stage that if I want to do recaps, it's going to take a toll on things that I want to do in my personal life. If I want to do recaps, I can't watch as many things as I want to, read as many books as I want to, and learn as many things as I want to. A reader once told me that this is my livejournal, I should be the one to decide when I want to ramble along about some drama, but as time goes by, I can't help but feel obliged, or this sense of responsibility, to update…I mean, I want to do a good job after all.

But I will come out straight here about something that some of my readers already know, and that's the fact that I'm still a student. That means that I have workloads and also a life to juggle….and my life is only going to get busier from now on. I wish I was some happily married wife who juggles a drama blog on the offside but I am not one, unfortunately haha.

And so, I've decided to give myself a break. Stop feeling so guilty about dropping dramas to recap, and so on. I'm not going to stop writing here though, and I'm definitely still doing recaps, but as of the moment, I feel that it will only be fair to myself if I recap shows that I like enough to spend time recapping on. That means that my dream of making this drama blog a big thing isn't going to happen, ever, but I guess I will have to prioritise.

I hope this doesn't mean that you guys are going to stop coming there to read, because this is not going to be a dead blog. At least I hope that it won't be for the next, let's say, five years?(: It's just going to be more about what I like and want to share, rather than what you guys want to read. I can be on a whim and spam a post everyday if I feel like it, but I don't want to feel obliged having to update every two days or so… if that makes sense(:

In essence(or in a long-winded fashion), that's about all that I want to say! Nothing much will change actually, not physically perhaps, but if you see me disappear for more than a week, you should understand why.

Thanks so much for reading!

<3thoughtsramble

Update!

Have been away for many days… let's just say that I'm taking a mini-break and I might still continue to do so for the next few days! No worries though, I will still try to churn out In Time With You recaps as fast as possible, so that you guys can get updated, but as of the moment, you can tell that Nazotoki Wa Dinner No Ato De's recaps are not being done as fast.

I have a reason though!:P Other than going out everyday, I'm also trying hard to keep up with my reading-list and to-watch list, thus virtually having no time to update here. I finished Samurai High School, and am on Kuroshitsuji Season 2!(: I tried reading some manga  on the computer (failed to do so for the past years because I was just too impatient with how I have to click and wait for each page to load) as well haha!

So yep, all in all, I need more time and more sleep, but what's new!:P Gonna start working on recaps soon though.

Just a thought: I don't expect every reader to agree with me, but I wonder if every reader expects me to write every single thing that he/she can agree with??

I don't know lol, it's just a really random thought that I got.
