Marry me, or not? Episode 13 Recap
Really enjoyed this episode too! It was 50 minutes of pure acting goodness, tears, character development and some answers.

I’M BACK YES I AM. I really enjoyed this episode, which is kind of belated since we are nearing the end of the drama. But what pulled me in was the acting, the tight plot and the conflicts…and oh lots of sympathies and a little rant at the end.
Everyone probably thinks the same way as I do – 2015 really went by in a flash, didn’t it??
Gotta say that I love the pun on the show’s title!
Hook, we will find you. I will always find you. Okay it’s been too long since I’ve written a proper post on thoughtsramble. I feel sooo guilty about it OOPS. But I’m so glad I’m kinda back! I’ve been wanting to write this ever since I finished the finale a week ago. This isn’t a hate post (because I love Once Upon A Time too much for that) but I do have a few questions and like wtheck? moments throughout the show.
Oh goodness is it just me or did WordPress’s post layout change? Anyway, this post is way too belated for the show has ended 2 weeks ago! Just click on below if you want to have a little #throwback!
I have so much to think and say about one of the biggest thing that has happened so far, that I just had to write a post on it. Purely just my thoughts (in a rambling fashion as usual).
Forgive me hahaha, I really had all the intentions to recap every single episode after the last one, but real life takes over and I’ve decided to focus on the matters at hand. However, I have some free time now, and I must write this review!
You know, although the China’s cut may not sound very different from the Taiwan’s cut in writing (i.e the recaps produced may not differ that much at all, since I will be skimming over stuff too), I highly recommend watching the Taiwan’s cut if you are someone who wants to be emotionally attached to a show. The China’s cut breezes past all the boring AND exciting stuff so it’s good if you don’t really care about the characters and you just really want to know what happens.
Hohoho I’m not sure how many of you saw this coming, but I’ve basically fallen in love with this drama ever since it was in its infant stage (lol, meaning Episode 2 or 3). This was actually adapted from a novel, written by an author who commonly has other works spun off into dramas (e.g Summer’s Desire). Much as I love this show however, I’m not sure how much I can commit to it yet – if I can recap it regularly until it finishes, or only on an ad-hoc basis. I hope to make it more concise than my usual recaps, so that this leaves me more time to do this on a regular basis.
This is just a really short post that I’ve been wanting to write for AGES. Yeah this show has long finished. I tend to have very serious drama blues if I’m too attached to a show, and I’m not kidding when I say that sometimes this affects my mood in real life. As such, over the years, I have developed this defence mechanism whereby if I foresee myself getting too attached to a show, I stop myself from watching the last episode until my own hype for it has died down. Does that make sense to you? This method works wonders for me(:
I quite like this finale! I love it that there was a point to the ending – many drama finales dedicate 60 minutes to pure happy endings, which is great because on top of seeing the main couple being lovey dovey and sweet for an hour, I almost always stop having drama blues haha. I think a good ending does it just right in the sense that it satisfies you with enough couple time but leaves you wanting to see more of them. I know I will definitely miss this couple and the entire cast a lot!! Note: long recap ahead, do let all the screenshots load first!
I don’t know how they do it, but in my honest opinion, each episode just gets better in this show! And that ending, wow great editing that foreshadows what’s going to come in the next episode (finale) and yet manages to end this episode on a cliffhanger of sorts. And I thought I signed myself up for some Ferris Wheel, pleasant rom-com ride from Episode 1 to 20. This episode just proved me wrong with its thriller bits hahahaha (disclaimer: author’s heart is *really* weak so what thrills her may not thrill you hoho). Lots of screenshots and possibly long recap coming ahead!
I am honestly this *fingers are one cm apart* close to recapping this drama. It has been awesome so far and I’m loving the take on the novel.
I really enjoyed this episode! I think the crying scenes were GREAT, the patching up between Mum and Daughter is gradual and logical, the conflict between the couple is slowly dissolving, You Qian and Yong Qing finally become the friends that they originally should have been, Yan Ze steps up on his game, a hint of a new relationship between Yong Qing and Ya Lu, and a very cool Jiang today. What an awesome episode that ties in so many storylines into 60 minutes! If the entire show had been this tight, relatively fast-paced and diverse, it would have been a great show. But it’s okay! I did love watching the pleasant couple-only scenes in the first 8 episodes hahaha. BECAUSE I AM MISSING THE COUPLE SCENES SO MUCH NOW. GIVE THEM BACK TO ME. (Notice that I don’t really care about Yan Ze and Ya En. Ahem.)
I really like this episode! I think it has its fair share of plot, good acting and comic relief. As usual, I love the small, inconsequential dialogue between Zhi Lin and Mei Wen – they make everything so cute and funny! Although our couple has met with an obstacle this episode, I believe that it wouldn’t pose too much of a trouble, since the whole show has been sort of that pleasant Ferris Wheel ride you take instead of a roller coaster – cruising along with highs and lows instead of plunging the viewer constantly into fright and anticipation.
Quite like this episode as usual – we have a few nice plot movements and little laughs here and there. It’s always a good time when Pu Lang Gang is in town!
Oh my is it Episode 15 already? Although I really like this episode’s conflict and development, I don’t think the drama can close within the next episode. Just how many episodes is this show?
This episode should be titled ‘An Xi’s monologues’. Haha jokes aside (okay I’m not even kidding), I quite like certain parts of this episode!! I think the drama’s strongest point isn’t in the plot, since it can be quite slow and draggy sometimes, but I do think that they write nice dialogue most of the time, and they know how to capitalise on their leads’ chemistry.
I think this may be one of my most favourite episode yet! Relatively fast-paced, LOTS of cute moments, and some conflict! I LOVE that bit of Heal Me Kill Me that I sensed, although it’s apparently not a KMHM reference. Oops. But You Qian you are seriously too funny.
Almost EVERYTHING happened in this episode! When the pace is slow, it’s slow. When it’s fast, wow. I think the way the reveals are dealt with are not too hurried, simply because the scriptwriters decide to take the simple (and easy?) way out.
I don’t know if I was very tired when I watched this, but the ending was a little draggy for me. I can’t pinpoint which part of the episode could have been faster, because I admit that everything mentioned was important and relevant…but it just didn’t end with that tension which I’ve expected from an open ending, or that over the top crazy fangirl-feels expected from the romance. That being said, I still like the finale very much. I love the idea of an open ending! Even if they don’t make Season 2 (I won’t even harbour hopes for that because Kdramas rarely make second seasons with the exact same cast), the storyline is apt for that sort of storytelling – every end brings with it a new set of questions, and new beginnings. Disclaimer: LOADS of screenshots, so do let the page load before you begin reading!(:
I’m back in business!! I think this episode was great, but not super epic. It seems to be setting the stage for the finale and is already tying up a few loose ends. Happy ending, anyone?
FINALLY. Finally we have an episode set mostly in Taipei, and I was right. Things move along much faster here and there’s more juicy conflicts.
I LOVE this episode! What’s there not to like – that wonderful kiss-on-the-forehead scene (I just mentioned two days ago on another recap that I love forehead kisses. Who’s with me!), the reunion, Hyun’s persistence to break down Min’s walls and that cliffhanger at the end. I’ve not really teared from any recent dramas (I have a bad memory so I don’t know if you should trust me on that…) but this reunion was so bittersweet, I couldn’t help myself.
I need to control myself and stop flailing around/squealing like an idiot! Quite impressed with some teeny bits of acting I saw today too.
I was vehemently shaking my dog’s paws while watching and squealing over certain parts of this episode. I think he feels very traumatised right now.
I love this episode! Lots of nice Hyon-Ji Ahn moments that just make me wanna hug something/someone and squeal haha.
Although it was a fun and pleasant watch, nothing much actually happened in this episode, other than finding out what exactly happened between An Xi and her father, and watching You Qian get jealous (hehe).
*Disclaimer: I’m writing this from a pure viewer’s point of view and I didn’t finish the drama, so my thoughts are only pertaining to the episodes that I’ve watched. Don’t get upset with me but feel free to leave a comment if you disagree!(: I didn’t finish this drama, although I persisted till Episode…9? I can’t even remember.
