Autumn’s Concerto Episode 7 and 8 recap

All righto, here’s when we get into the really good bits of the drama — after 6 years, will Guang Xi meet Mu Cheng [ uhm duhhh?? ] and what will happen after that? [ Uh huh, that’s what we all want to know so just get on with it:D]

Before we get started, I actually took a screenshot of Guang Xi saving Mu Cheng [ mentioned in the previous recap ]. I have no idea why, but even though I thought that scene adds on to how illogical the crush/love was, I really like that scene, hence the screenshot.

Autumn’s Concerto Recaps

All right! I’ve finished this drama as well, but I will just post my thoughts about it together with each episode recaps!:D Obviously, I will have blues as well, and right now I find myself not wanting to watch other dramas, because I’ve no idea which dramas to watch. To be honest, I’ve been stuffing myself full with good dramas, that I realise I’m quite out of touch with the nonsensical, playful dramas/comedies.

What will you recommend?

Wow it’s been crazy!

I’ve been juggling many dramas right now, so Sungkyunkwan Scandal Episode 20’s Recap will come a little later. I’m so sorry!:P Just to let you guys know, I’m currently watching Keizoku 2:SPECS, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, Kobato [anime], Autumn Concerto and The Man Who Can’t Marry. Technically, I’m only watching Autumn Concerto right now, because the other 4 dramas won’t load. IT’S. SO. IRRITATING. All right, I will be back with more reviews/recaps!

Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows Part 1 Review

Now, before I get started, I must say that all the following opinions are of my own, and you are free to agree or disagree with me! In fact, I would really love it if you guys just leave a comment about how you thought the movie had gone for you.

So, most of us, at least quite a considerable number of us, have read Deathly Hallows. Was I disappointed with the movie? Well, no, and in fact I love it! I know how there are critics out there who say that it’s too draggy for them, but I love the movie. I guess there’s always the pros and cons, and each time, the director can’t satisfy both sides. It’s either you stick closely to the book, and people like me love it, but others hate it for how draggy it becomes, or you cut the scenes.

I went with some of my friends, and they said that some parts were quite slow. Boring? No, but some parts were so slow paced that it becomes dangerously close to boring for them. My other friend actually fell asleep. For me, I thought everything was good! I like the pace, I like the sets/the scenery, I like the script. Yeah, granted, the pace of some scenes could have been a little faster, but this isn’t a particular flaw for me. Ultimately, I feel that you have to read the book to fully appreciate the movie.

Some people may find the part where Hermione told the story of the three brothers draggy, but I actually love that scene a lot. It’s not just because I love the way they portrayed the story but also because I know how important that story is to the whole book, in fact to the whole series. This is not a generalisation, but I do realise that among my friends, those who read the book, love that scene, while those who didn’t read the book, kind of dozed off. I thought the start of the movie was actually pretty well done, and I love how they showed Hermione’s pain when she had to make her parents forget who she is.

Emma Watson’s still as pretty as ever, and I love her clothes as well! Even though I wonder how they brought such trendy clothes while on the run, I like how the coats and scarves match with the colours of the setting. Daniel Radcliffe’s acting has improved very much so, in my opinion. For example, there was a particular scene where he had to cry. I could see the eye areas of Harry Potter gradually turning red and then, the tears slowly welled up. You might think that’s not a great deal, but trust me, he couldn’t even cry in the previous movies. I would have wanted to see more of Snape but I guess that would come in Part 2. Now that I’m thinking of that, I kinda want to see more of Draco as well, but yes that will come in Part 2 too!

Ron was pretty cute and funny, even though I wished that he hadn’t gotten jealous. To be honest, I don’t see the need for fake Hermione and fake Harry to be naked while kissing but I’m cool with that [even though it got my friend reeled up, because she thinks there’s absolutely no need for that scene] Dobby is my favourite book character, and naturally I cried for him, while I was reading the book and watching the movie. You can’t believe how down I was after watching the movie, just because of Dobby’s death. Ah, and the dementors scared the hell out of me. I don’t know why, but when I first watched the dementors in Harry Potter:Prisioner Of Askaban [ ahh Sirius! ], they left a bad, bad impression on me. Oh, and I thought the effects were cool. They got so many people screaming in the theatres, I guess there’s no other evidence better than that to show how successful the effects are right?

The Harry Potter Medley brings great memories for me. Harry Potter has been such a great part of my life; the first book came out when I was still so young, that it felt like I had grown up together with the series. It’s a world that I would really want to enter, much as I know that it’s impossible. I have no idea if it’s the same for you, but I will definitely miss the books and the movies a lot when Part 2 comes out, and ends.

   — There’s so much more that I would want to say, but I suspect it kinda revolves mostly on how much I love the movie, or maybe how much I love that magical world. Do leave a comment!-

Prosecutor Princess again

Hey… I’m sorry but I’m kinda lazy right now to go back and screenshot Prosecutor Princess again… This is because I might most probably watch it again, I aint sure, but I was thinking if I’m going to watch it again, then no harm screencapping scenes at that point in time! So yep… I’m just telling you guys that the screenshots might never come/take a long time to come. In the meanwhile though, I ❤ these 2 screenshots:

A pause which resulted in an accidental comical expression on our darling handsome Prosecutor Yoon’s face.

Oh dear… this cannot be seen, but anyway this is one of my favourite scene in the drama!<3 Ma Hye Ri was in the lift with him and their hands sort of was going to touch but then In Woo pulled his hands back and acted like he was drunk/indifferent. Hye Ri’s level came and she went out of the lift. She turned around, and there she saw a tear, forming and coming down In Woo’s face. I don’t know why, but I really really love this scene! It got something to do with how special and uncliche that this scene is. I mean, after having watched so many dramas and animes, you’ve gotta admit it, that that almost all scenes are cliches. It’s more than what I’ve written here –> http://thoughtsramble.livejournal.com/?skip=50#asset-thoughtsramble-3120 Almost every scene can be counted as a cliche. It’s the plot that makes each drama different, and the chemistry and characterisation of the leads that set each drama apart. However, I can’t really recall any dramas that I’ve watched that has this scene and I like how it shows how In Woo is really feeling, that Hye Ri saw it, but In Woo didn’t know that Hye Ri saw him crying.

I’m pretty sure that it isn’t just me who was so deeply affected by this scene. In fact, I’ve asked some friends of mine, who watched the show after my recommendations, and they agreed with me wholeheartedly about this scene. ❤

Yes, that’s the 2 screenshots that I have! By the way, I had so much fun writing the cliches of Korean Dramas [where you can find in the above link] that I feel like writing something like that again for fun. Any suggested topics?:P

Prosecutor Princess

I bet you are shocked to see another post titled Prosecutor Princess right?:P I’m in the process of doing recaps on Sungkyunkwan Scandal right now, and while screencapping scenes, I realise I never did any screenshots for Prosecutor Princess! At that point in time, I was so anxious on watching the drama that I didn’t really care for screencapping, but I think I will go back and do some screenshots after I’ve finished Sungkyunkwan Scandal! I guess I would put some screenshots in the recaps itself, but there’ll be another post with just screenshots of scenes that I like, but not necessarily mentioned in the recaps themselves.

Do check back for it!:D

AHHH

I JUST FINISHED SUNGKYUNKWAN SCANDAL AND I’M HAVING BLUES ALREADY!!!  I will post recaps pretty soon, like in a few days or so, and I will try to write each recap as if I haven’t seen the next episodes!:D I think it’s more fun that way:D

I’M HAVING BLUESD: Like not Sungkyunkwan Scandal blues, but people blues! I want to see more of Jae Shin and Yong Ha! They made me cry and laugh so many times! Sun Joon and Yoon Hee made me laugh too — they’re such a cute and sweet couple:DDD

BUT JAE SHIN AND YONG HA I WILL HAVE BAD BLUES

I don’t like it though, that Yoon Hee doesn’t know that Jae Shin likes her. I know that it won’t make any changes to her heart, but I just thought she should know… like as some form of closure you know… If you guys think that she did know that Jae Shin likes her, please tell me!:DD

Hey

For some weird reason, the alignment and formatting for the previous entry is super, super screwed. I need to sleep now, but I will change it tomorrow! To be honest, I’m kinda scared to touch that entry, because the moment I posted it the first time, it erased all my words after the lj cut:/

Updates

The time has come… when it’s no longer possible of squeezing all the entries on one page! Actually, the time had arrived a long time ago, just that I didn’t take note. So, please remember to visit my previous entries just to see if there’re any entries that might interest you!

Aigoo a mini rant here: It’s so irritating sometimes when this person watches whatever you watch. I don’t know if I’m supposed to be flattered, but I’m not! It’s quite freaky and annoying. This person had been watching every single drama that I’ve watched since last year, okay not all, but those that I’ve loved a lot, and I hate it. I could not even remember when it all started, but she went to watch Playful Kiss and Prosecutor Princess, and now she’s going to watch Sungkyunkwan Scandal as well. It’s just weird… this person is not even someone that I wanted to ooooh and aahhhh over the dramas with, and no, it’s not a coincidence. HRUMPH. I feel like I’m being constantly stalked.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal Episode 10 -12

All right, things got a little angsty right in these few episodes as Sun Joon struggled with his what-seemed-more-than-friendship-love love to Yoon Hee. As Sun Joon and Yoon Hee got angsty with each other, Yong Ha/ Yeo Rim stood by the side, viewing everything with much amusement, and Jae Shin… Jae Shin protected Yoon Hee, regardless whether she knew it or not.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal Recaps! I LOVE ALL OF THEM

Sungkyunkwan Scandal Episode 5 – 9

I admit, it totally got me hooked now! I’m super happy that I didn’t drop this drama after the 4 episodes in front. To this date, I’ve no idea if they seem so boring because I still had my blues or they’re really boring. Anyway, it gave me a shock because I didn’t know I watched that fast! That’s why I said that Sungkyunkwan Scandal’s good point is that it stops just at the right moment.

Sungkyunkwan Scandal Recap!:D

Sungkyunkwan Scandal Episode 1-4

Sungkyunkwan Scandal is set in Sungkyunkwan University in the late Joseon era during the reign of King Jeongjo, revolving around the exploits and love stories of four youths. When her younger brother’s illness worsens and their family is in danger of being evicted from their house for lack of money, Kim Yoon Hee enters the school under his name, disguised as a boy in her desperation to support him. [ taken from wikipedia]

That’s for the first 2 episodes. In Episode 3 and 4, Yoon Hee met some people who thought she looked very familiar but didn’t realise that she’s a girl, since she’s decked up in men’s clothes. She managed to unintentionally charm Cho Sun, who if I’m not wrong, was a prostitute, that In Soo liked. She went on with her school life, trying to survive without people finding out her secret, but she always faced a problem at night — sleeping in the same dorm as Jae Shin and Sun Joon [ who are guys ]. One day, Sun Joon got drunk and suddenly started stripping himself, not even leaving his pants on. Yoon Hee was embarrassed but managed to survive that night. The students soon learnt that Sungkyunkwan would hold an archery competition. In Soo who did not like both Yoon Hee and Sun Joon, wanted to teach Yoon Hee a lesson, so he placed an apple on top of her head and shot an arrow from a far distance away. Sun Joon arrived, though a tad too late, to move In Woo’s arm away but In Soo had already released the arrow. Luckily, Jae Shin was there to push Yoon Hee, who had fainted, away. He quickly carried her to the pharmacy, where the professor took her pulse and realised something was wrong. After she woke up, and there was no one around, he questioned Yoon Hee if she was a woman.

One of Sungkyunkwan’s strong points, in my opinion, is that the producers know exactly when to stop each episode, such that each viewer is tempted to press the button to the next episode. It didn’t matter that I might be super bored or that I didn’t understand what happened in like.. episode 3, but to have a good ending is very important because it ensures that I will continue to watch.(:

Right now, I really like Yeo Rim and Jae Shin! Actually, I like all of them! This is quite rare, considering how I only liked Shin Woo in You Are Beautiful and only second fiddles in other similar dramas. However, I really like Yeo Rim/ Yoon Ha for his playful and cheeky character, Jae Shin for his seemingly tough exterior but being very thoughtful towards Yoon Hee, and Sun Joon for always standing up for Yoon Hee. I know that Yoon Hee will almost definitely end up with Sun Joon, so it kind of makes me prematurely sad for Yeo Rim and Jae Shin already!

I was quite dubious though… Is it really true that you can tell whether one is a male or female by the pulse alone? I really like the part where Jae Shin pushed Yoon Hee away, and I love scenes where the male lead turns around and smirk or something!:P [ i.e Sun Joon ]

I’m not a fan yet, but it’s too early to say whether I will or will not be one. Knowing that Jae Shin is very good at archery definitely played a major role in roping me in to continue watching, since I was deeply reminded of Jumong:P I am kind of confused about the plot though, like what is the king trying to find, and what has all of this got to do with Yoon Hee’s father?

Keke:D

In an attempt to forget my post-Prosecutor-Princess blues, I’ve started watching My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and Sungkyunkwan Scandal! Right now, I’m still not very into both shows even though I’ve watched 2 episodes of Gumiho and 3 episodes of Sungkyunkwan Scandal. I have no idea if it’s because of the blues… or the plots of the shows. I might have even stopped watching if not for the second lead in Gumiho who is so, so good looking, and for the playboy in Sungkyunkwan!:P

Reviews will be up soon:D

Prosecutor Princess Episode 16

I finished this wonderful, amazing drama!

Ma Sang Tae faced problems with his company when he realised that he couldn’t pay off his bills. In Woo and Ma Hye Ri worked hard together and managed to come up with evidence that could convince the prosecutors that it was involuntary manslaughter. After much consideration, Prosecutor Jin and Prosecutor Yoon decided to not indict Ma Sang Tae, and since they classified this case as involuntary manslaughter, [the statue of limitation is 7 years] Ma Sang Tae would not face any charges. However, despite the good news, ST constructions continued to face problems with the financial issues. In Woo felt guilty because he never expected that this situation would arise. He offered his help but Ma Hye Ri rejected his help. On the other hand, they requested for a retrial of Seo Dong Guen’s case, and given all the evidence, the court cleared Seo In Woo’s father’s name.

Prosecutor Jin also received news that she would work in another office. Apparently they had to change offices every 2 years or so. Prosecutor Yoon officially sort-of got together with Prosecutor Jin as he held her hand. They made such a cute couple!:P At the same time, since In Woo reached his aim, he moved back to the States as well. Hye Ri wanted to stop him but didn’t. Instead, she stood barefooted outside her house, looking at the aeroplane that flew in the vast, blue sky.

A year later. Ma Hye Ri arrived at her office and actually changed into formal office wear. She was finally a good and capable prosecutor. Prosecutor Yoon and Jin were getting married, and Seo In Woo came back to Korea to continue working in the law firm. Ma Sang Tae’s company collapsed and together with his wife, they set up a bakery where " Humans can adapt to anything"  became Ma Sang Tae’s motto. Hye Ri’s friend asked her if she had gotten over that "weird lawyer" because she had not been looking down lately, thus giving an indication that she had been looking down for a long time. When In Woo saw Hye Ri, he was very shocked but Hye Ri wasn’t surprised at all. Instead, she ran up to him and started repeating everything that he said to her in Episode 1 and 2. In Woo didn’t really respond and continued his run along the track. Dejected, Hye Ri called Jenny up, and then the viewers realised that it was Jenny who revealed to Hye Ri that In Woo would be returning to Korea.

" I came here to ask you to save In Woo, but you are dying along with him?" Jenny asked Hye Ri, in a meeting 6 months ago, and Jenny asked Hye Ri if she could tell her when In Woo returned to Korea. Hye Ri did not hesitate when she replied " Yes" thus indicating that she still liked In Woo. Back to the present, Jenny asked Hye Ri to go to his house, which she did, and we realised that In Woo had bought Hye Ri’s house [ the one that was right next to his ] with all her furniture still intact. Hye Ri was touched, as this was evidence that In Woo still liked Hye Ri! With Hye Ri’s mother’s money, she moved to the terrace house next to his, the one that was previously occupied by him, and even woke him up with a similar looking alarm clock [ the one with a recording ]. In the end, she told him to meet her at 12 midnight in the park but In Woo hesitated and didn’t go, because he didn’t want to break his promise to Ma Sang Tae.

However, Ma Sang Tae, after learning from Hye Ri’s mum that Hye Ri and In Woo loved each other, came to his house and gave him two piece of bread, asking In Woo to share one with Hye Ri. In Woo took this as a form of approval, and rushed out of the house to meet Hye Ri. He accidentally crashed into the phone booth and got a cut on his leg. Yet, Hye Ri wasn’t in the park. As In Woo stood there, Hye Ri appeared behind him and yelled " I caught you!" She helped him to walk on the way home by supporting him with her arm, but In Woo said "Let’s do this the right way" and put HIS arm around her. Cue happy music, as the scene changed to them taking a stroll. Hye Ri kept repeated everything that In Woo said to her before; it’s so cute and amusing! In Woo once said this to Hye Ri, to hurt her, " We are not lovers, and neither will we become lovers, we are not friends nor relatives". He asked her to repeat that again which Hye Ri did but with modifications " We are not husband and wife, and we have no idea if we will become husband and wife…" Thus showing that they are lovers!:D The drama then ended with them taking a picture together, which I realise should be their first photo together, with Fly High as background music.

-the end-

AHHHH. I will always tag this drama as the one that could make me cry and squeal at the same time. This has rarely happened before! I could be crying because it was so sad and touching, then someone would go do something really sweet, then I would start squealing. I’m sorry for that long recap on Episode 16! It’s because I just watched it so I still have a very strong impression of what happened.

I must say, I really like this drama! It was a drama that has a good and solid plot, with capable actors that could bring the script forward to the audience. I like all the small details that they put in. For example, when In Woo and Hye Ri were eating instant noodles from the same bowl, In Woo waited for Hye Ri to eat finish her mouthful of noodles before eating from the bowl, and somehow that struck me as a tiny detail that was very well done. It was an action that was exactly like in reality! You know, if you aren’t that close to that person yet, you won’t be stuffing your face so close to his/hers even when you two share the same things.

I love 1 year laters because they almost always ensure a very, very sweet happy ending, don’t they?(:

I really like how this drama was special in the sense that In Woo started out being the second-fiddle. My friend who started watching, but didn’t have a chance to look at the posters, actually thought that Prosecutor Yoon was the male lead! The transition in leads were very well done and I like how in the end, Prosecutor Yoon didn’t even have to fight with In Woo over the attentions of Hye Ri, even though he was the second lead. I love the couple pairing of Prosecutor Yoon and Jin as well! They make such a cute and awkward couple, it makes me squeal so often. 😛 Everything was well done, even the OST was good. If I had to pick out something bad, it would be… less crying from Hye Ri. Even then, I wouldn’t say that the angst was unnecessary, because it WAS necessary.

I love Hye Ri’s stilettos, to Goodbye My Princess, to In Woo’s V-neck tops, to the teeny weeny bits of details that they cared about, to everything! Prosecutor Princess is definitely a good watch! I shall not pretend to understand why the episode ratings isn’t good in Korea.

I’m kinda… having withdrawal symptoms right now :/ When this is over, I guess my next drama to watch would be My Girlfriend is a Gumiho or Sungkyunkwan Scandal!

Ooh and I tried finding behind the scenes and interviews for Prosecutor Princess, but I realise they aren’t much use if I can’t understand Korean. Grr.

-something I found on someone’s tumblr-
Sweet guys are an endangered species.

Prosecutor Princess Episode 13-15

Yes, this meant that I’ve watched 3 episodes from the last entry! Be prepared for a long review! So many things have happened.

Hye Ri investigated the case and on the other hand, kept talking to In Woo. She tried to find out what’s wrong but In Woo wouldn’t care about her or talk to her. She felt really bad inside even as she went to talk to Jung Ran, Go Man Chul or Shin Dong Hae’s father to find out what really happened 15 years ago. In the end, she realised that Jung Ran and Go Man Chul cooked up an alibi for Ma Sang Tae who in return gave them money. At the same time, she also found out that In Woo was the son of the suspect, Shin Dong Guen. Hye Ri then realised that In Woo made use of her to investigate her father’s case and she asked him if he was sorry but In Woo said he wasn’t. In Woo told her his story, that his father died in prison and out of sadness, his mother took him the States but died just 4 months due to a car accident. Ma Hye Ri’s heart pained for him and she felt guilt that her father caused this.

Hye Ri continued to find out what had happened because her father denied everything, and In Woo continued to distance himself from Hye Ri. Ma Sang Tae came to find Seo In Woo and eventually, they came to an agreement — If he went to turn himself in, then In Woo must leave Hye Ri’s side. Ma Sang Tae wanted this agreement because he believed that In Woo only became close to Hye Ri for the sole purpose of taking revenge on her father. In Woo agreed to this deal and Ma Sang Tae admitted to Hye Ri about murdering Myung Woo which actually wasn’t manslaughter but rather an act of self defense. This is because Myung Woo, a resident of the land that Ma Tae Seng bought, threatened to reveal his connections with Politician Kim if Ma Sang Tae did not give him enough money for relocation. The negotiation resulted in Myung Woo strangling Ma Sang Tae, who pushed Myung Woo off, Myung Woo slipped and fell, and hit his head on the rock on the floor.

Terrified, Ma Sang Tae left the crime of scene. That’s the end of his story. Ma Sang Tae told Hye Ri that he would turn himself in but he wanted her to quit her job and go overseas, so that she would not become the joke of the office. Hye Ri returned back home, [the one that she lived by herself] to tell In Woo that her father would be turning himself in. The sad catch here is, if the case was on self-defense, the statue of limitation is 7 years, but if the case was on murder/manslaughter, then the statue of limitation will be 7 -15 years. So, if Ma Sang Tae turned himself in, it would have to be a case of murder in order for the case to be reopened. [inferred, so I hope it’s correct! That’s what I thought it meant anyway, apparently dramabeans says otherwise so…] After hearing this, In Woo felt super guilty because he didn’t want to wrong an innocent man, or to take Hye Ri’s father away from her. Regardless whether he believed Ma Sang Tae or not, he didn’t want to be the one who destroyed Hye Ri’s life. In the end, he told Hye Ri that he would drop the case, and that she should too.

However, Hye Ri couldn’t take it down, since she would have to live with guilt of knowing that In Woo’s father’s name was never cleared, she came up with an agreement. She would report the case to the office to be reopened, but In Woo must find evidence that Ma Sang Tae did an act of self defense and not manslaughter. In Woo agreed, and even though Ma Sang Tae wasn’t happy, In Woo became the lawyer for him. On the other side, Prosecutor Jin and Prosecutor Yoon were in charge of that case, and after much indecision, they decided to hand the case over to the committee and a newspaper article revealed that the committe’s decision was to indict Ma Sang Tae’s case as manslaughter. Ma Sang Tae immediately faced trouble with his company.

Phew, that’s the end! I even had to take out some important things that happened, but fret not, because I would mention them below:P Episode 16 will be a review by itself, I guess.

I admit, I cried for In Woo as he recounted his story. It was so sad! In the end for that few episodes, I was torn between feeling pained for In Woo and thinking that he’s a jerk for saying all those mean things to Hye Ri. She was so distressed over the fact that In Woo had a motive for getting close to her that she felt like she could not breath and she couldn’t go to work. At the end of Episode 13, Hye Ri heard the recording that In Woo recorded in her alarm clock which asked for her forgiveness and " I hope that you will find a man who love you so much, he would take away the scar that I gave you" " I’m sorry… I’m sorry… I’m sorry…." He said in the recording, alongside with other thoughts that he had. Hye Ri went to his house and in the end, confessed to him. " I love you, you bastard. So please tell me that you are sorry, or I can’t breathe. I feel like dying" She told him that and In Woo caressed her face, before kissing her. I cried so much here! First I cried because of the recording, which was so bittersweet, then Hye Ri’s confession made me cry more, and then they kissed, so I ended up crying and squealing. Gosh, only Prosecutor Princess can do this to me.

I thought Ma Hye Ri’s character change was really smooth and other prosecutors and investigators in the office actually worried about her when she didn’t appear for work for 2 to 3 days. When Ma Sang Tae threatened her, she wasn’t afraid as well. I’m so proud of her!^^

Prosecutor Yoon also seemed to realise his feelings for Prosecutor Jin and they make such a sweet couple! When Prosecutor Jin walked awkwardly because of her heels, he even asked her why she was walking like that when she had nice legs. In the end, he even carried her! -SQUEAL- Haha his confession was so masked though, for a second I didn’t even know that it was a confession. He told Prosecutor Jin that " Hye Ri taught me to get my act together, and look around, and to know what’s real" but Prosecutor Jin didn’t realise that he was referring to her.

As mentioned before, I really like how Prosecutor Princess can build up so nicely. Now that the truth is out, I suddenly recalled that In Woo had asked Shin Dong Hae’s father if he had ever allowed someone to be wrongly accused before. At first I didn’t understand why he asked that and so I forgot about that. It was only now, that I realised In Woo knew that Shin Dong Hae’s father also played a part in masking the truth! I love the script — it’s so well thought of, and with almost no flaws that I could find. It’s so logical, that they even showed Ma Sang Tae communicating with Go Man Chul using a pager, instead of a handphone which would not have been invented/ popular since that case was 15 years ago.

Ooh I remembered noting down that Hye Ri came up with a metaphor for In Woo [ Remember? Yoon Se Joon was like a big tree] and the metaphor she chose was Superman. Yeah why didn’t I thought of that?:P However, I was surprised because later, Ma Hye Ri’s mother described Seo In Woo like the wind of the Spring. Wow, I can’t believe I actually was quite close!:P

There’s only the last episode now! It couldn’t load so I will be watching it tomorrow, sadly. It was really an enjoyable watch and I’m sad that it will end so fast for meD: Hoho and I do enjoy In Woo being the male lead, after all, this means that I can watch much more of him [ and his V-neck tops ]

Prosecutor Princess Episode 8 -12

I totally look like a panda right now.

Episode 8 starts with a replay of that kiss [ we fangirls all swoon over ] that Episode 7 ends with. In Woo continued to help Hye Ri to attract Se Joon. Hye Ri found that there seemed to someone in her house but she couldn’t find him/her. It was all the smallest details that got her very worried, like how the channel on television wasn’t the one that she watched, how the clothes on her bed would disappear. In the end, she called In Woo who came to her rescue and found the ‘stalker’ hiding in a cupboard. Apparently the ‘stalker’ had mental problems and thought that he was cohabiting with Hye Ri. Se Joon continued to be nice, and nicer, to Hye Ri, like agreeing to her request to hold hands and taking a stroll down the path filled with sakura trees. The drama continues to let out hints about In Woo’s grudge and motive for getting close to Hye Ri. One day, Hye Ri found a photo of herself in In Woo’s house, and got suspicious because at that point in time when the photo was taken, In Woo and Hye Ri [supposedly] had not known each other yet. She asked In Woo to move away, but changed her mind because she thought that In Woo purely had a crush on her and that he had not done anything wrong. Soon, the plot gets complicated as Go Man Chul was involved in a murder case that happened 15 years ago, a case that happened to involve Ma Teng Sae, Hye Ri’s father.

Episode 11 and 12 were very sad as In Woo felt torn over continuing with his plan, and stopping the plan because he couldn’t bear to hurt Hye Ri. In the end, In Woo distanced himself from Hye Ri, such as disappearing for days. Hye Ri realised during his absence, that she might have fallen in love with In Woo. " To like someone and to fall for someone is different" she said as she realised that she only liked Se Joon but fell in love with In Woo. She felt even more pained because she began to suspect her father’s involvement in the murder case and she couldn’t stop herself from wanting to investigate more. Even when In Woo finally appeared after a long, long time, he didn’t care about her and Hye Ri was both baffled and sad. As Hye Ri continued to investigate the case, she realised that Seo In Woo had connections with all the essential people of the case — Jung Ran, the lover of Go Man Chul, and Shin Dong Ha’s father, who is the witness of the murder case. Episode 12 ended with Hye Ri running a check on In Woo, and realising that he might not be what he appeared to be.

Wow, this synopsis is long.

From Episode 8-10, Prosecutor Yoon really appeared to be like a male lead — someone that Hye Ri liked, someone that Hye Ri thought was handsome, someone that in the end might like Hye Ri back. However, Episode 11 and 12 took a turn and to me, it was a smooth transit from portraying Prosecutor Yoon as the ‘male lead’ to In Woo being the male lead, what with his angst and the fact that he had more screen time. When I saw both In Woo and Hye Ri crying separately but at the same time, it makes me super sad. I know that In Woo had to do that distancing, but it didn’t make things better as he treated Hye Ri in a totally mean way. It’s even sadder when every time he did something mean to Hye Ri, he would turn his back on her and then the viewers would see that he’s crying.

Yoon Se Joon was really quite good looking when he smiled. I was hoping that Prosecutor Jin would dress up and be pretty to her fullest potential, and the viewers got a glimpse of that when she dressed up and went to look at the sakura trees by herself. Somehow, when she took out her specs, she looked a little like the nurse in Code Blue. Hmm. At first, I was wondering what Hye Ri’s reaction would be when she knew that she looked like the wife, but after Episode 11, I realise that she might not even care. In Woo having a motive to get close to her will deal a much heavier blow.

In Woo cut his hair!D: Even though he looked more refreshed, I like him better with longer fringe. I hope his image will change again!:P I also love how Prosecutor Yoon is so understanding and nice now. I think he might even realise that all along, he had liked Prosecutor Jin:P I certainly hope it’s this way! Oh, and Hye Ri’s stilettos are scary. They look so painful!! They pose as a real threat to Jenny’s [ friend of In Woo who helped him in his plan ] stilettos. I can just imagine the stilettos fighting and going, " I have a higher heel than you" " NO I have a higher heel" and so on.

I like Prosecutor Princess partly also because of how it builds up. From the start, it gives clues that In Woo knowing Hye Ri might not be as straightforward as we think it is. It gave clues across 2 episodes that there’s someone in Hye Ri’s house.

In the end, I have no idea if I should be happy because I have guessed the whole secret and In Woo’s motive correctly, or sad that Hye Ri would be super sad because of this. I think I watched too much Kindaichi, that everything just fell into place when I heard that the suspect arrested for the murder case had a surname of Seo.

I will also like to say that I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH THE OST! My favourite track of all is Goodbye My Princess, followed by the track that goes "Give me give me give me your real heart". I really like Fly High too, and only just found out that it’s by SHINee. Hmm however as far as I know, no one could understand me when I said that I love kdrama songs but not kpop. This is because I feel that kpop songs have not much variation and a lot of songs are made for the sole purpose of allowing the bands to dance. Kdrama OSTs have a huge variation so that each track can successfully convey the different moods of the different parts of the dramas. Also, the tracks must mean something to me, like when I hear that track, I get reminded of something, and Kdrama songs do that to me. For example, I can hear Because I’m Stupid by SS501 and feel something immediately.

I really want to buy the OST but I have no money right now, especially since I’m thinking of buying The Ambassador’s Mission by Trudi Canavan. Ooh and I almost forgot this, but Playful Kiss youtube Episodes are out!:D

Prosecutor Princess Episode 4-7

Hey guys! This is going to be a pretty short review, but anyway, just gonna say that Episode 7’s ending is really delightful!:D

The highlights of these few episodes include Ma Hye Ri taking up a case but the victim’s mother disliked her and requested for a change of prosecutors. Hye Ri became more responsible and chose to leave the plane even though she wanted to escape to Japan at first, due to the bad publicity that she had. In Woo continued to help her with her every wish, but Hye Ri only consciously took note of what Se Joon did for her. In Episode 7, In Woo decided to help Hye Ri make Se Joon her man, since that’s the kind of love she wanted. " If that’s the kind of love Ma Hye Ri wants, I want to give it to her" he said. Then, towards the ending, Se Joon realised that his daughter kept a note from Hye Ri which basically invited him for a picnic. He ran to her house [ In Woo is Hye Ri’s neighbour, though by no coincidence] but In Woo decided to pull an act to make Se Joon jealous — hug and then, kiss Hye Ri right in front of him. Hye Ri was facing against Se Joon and so she was in total shock that In Woo did something like that.

I once mused over this to my friend, that somehow dramas have predictable male lead characters and second male lead characters. I keep asking her, the last time was quite recent I believe, " What happens if you actually swop the male lead character with the second male lead except that the male lead is still the male lead just that he behaves like a second male lead?" I have a nice friend who either didn’t understand my question but pretended she did, or she understood but had no answer as well. Prosecutor Princess answered that question, and that was what really got me interested. I don’t know if I have not watched enough dramas [ but gosh I don’t think that’s the case] but this is one of the few, or even the first, drama I’ve watched with characterisation like that. It hooked me right in. It’s a novel idea and somehow, I must admit that I am glad my question wasn’t as nonsensical or lame as I thought it was.

That being said, I do feel sad for In Woo because of all the sacrifices he’s willing to make for Hye Ri [ just like those second male leads who will go all out to help the female leads].

I really like the case that Hye Ri took on because it touched my heart. I really, really like that child actress who acted as a girl that had been sexually abused. She’s so cute! I wish she was the daughter of Se Joon so that I could see her more often, but then if that was the case, we wouldn’t be able to see how great her acting was. I admit that I cried a little especially when JiMin [ sort of forgot her name] was in the court. I love the change in Hye Ri’s character as well; it’s what I’ve been waiting for.

Hye Ri said in one of the episodes that " Prosecutor Yoon is like a big, tall tree, the kind that provides a lot of shade and you know you can depend on him." I thought that was quite an apt description and it got me thinking how I would describe In Woo. The closest, but still not apt at all, description I could come up with was the breeze– something that doesn’t really seem to be there, something which prescence might not seem significant, but it brings relief… and it has a certain direction [ In Woo’s direction to help Hye Ri].

I’m actually watching Episode 8 already! The next review will come probably tomorrow or the day after.

Prosecutor Princess Episode 1-3

Right, so I’ve watched episodes 1 to 3 at the expense of my sleep and I must say, I’m hooked on the show!:D

I’m kinda lazy to type the synopsis here, so if you are interested, just wiki it — can’t go wrong with that.

As mentioned before, I was very irritated with Ma Hye Ri because spoilt brats irritate me a lot. Basically I dislike anyone who does not realise the trouble she brings to others and continue happily with whatever she was doing. Episode 1 focuses mostly on introducing the main characters — Ma Hye Ri, Seo In Woo, Yoon Se Joon and Jin Jung Sun. I was pretty confused at first because the drama was withholding information on me. For example, In Woo behaves like he knows Hye Ri before and that he’s kind of helping her becoming a good prosecutor despite having only just met her due to what seems to be a hotel management error. Jung Sun is helping to take care of a kid that’s not hers.

Then, Episode 2 to 3 start to develop the plot further as we’re shown more and more of each character’s inner feelings. I started watching because of Park Shi Hoo due to his role in Family Honour, but Kim So Yeon has caught my attention. She was good, totally good, in conveying this spoilt-but-does-not-think-that-she-did-anything-wrong 24 year old rich kid and a particular scene that caught my eye was the one when she was scolded by the bureau chef.

The video player spoilt some of the scenes though, sadly. I think it was in Episode 4 when Se Joon was fighting bad guys and Hye Ri was so impressed, that the player started buffering every 2 seconds which then went on for 10 minutes before hanging on me completely.

I think that Prosecutor Princess is interesting in this sense because Seo In Woo was brought across to me as someone who was more like a second male lead rather than the main lead. Instead, Se Joon was the one that was shown with more screen time and also the one that Hye Ri liked first.

I’m going to go on a drama marathon, fellow drama lovers!:D It’s a long list — I’m going to juggle 3 dramas, Prosecutor Princess, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, Sungkyunkwan Scandal at one time, after which I will watch Glee and watch all those episodes from Ghost Whisperer Season 5 [ Anyone knows if a season 6 is coming?] I’ve missed because of my examinations. My upcoming updates will most probably take the form of this entry, like reviews of about three to four episodes at one time. Oooh, the theatres in my country are going to show The Incite Mill. I want to catch it!:D

My conclusion? At the end of this all, I will end up in the zoo, as a friend of our dear pandas.

Prosecutor Princess

I’m watching Prosecutor Princess right now and I’m hating Ma Hye Ri a lot! I get irritated when I read/watch about desperate girls, rash and impulsive/selfish girls, and last but not least, SPOILT BRATS. I know that her character will [hopefully] improve but if this goes on for another episode I’m afraid I’ll throw something. :P. I must say though, that the actress of Ma Hye Ri is not bad! Her acting is really quite good.

I have no idea if I should do recaps or reviews…

Shrek the Third Movie Review and Bedtime Stories Review

When Playful Kiss ended, I knew that the number of visits to this livejournal will drop drastically. It has proven to be true but I wasn’t as sad as I thought I would be. This is because I realised the important thing is to remember what I’ve started out wanting to do, and that’s just simply writing what I’ve seen and thought, and what I’ve heard and felt(:

All right! This entry is going to consist of two reviews – Shrek the Third and Bedtime Stories.

First up, we have Shrek the Third.

credit:www.iwatchstuff.com/2007/03/shre…ster.php

It is the third installment in the Shrek series and was released in 2007. It continues to tell the stories of Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Puss in Boots and other characters as Shrek goes on a journey to find the heir to the kingdom in Far Far Away land. King Harold dies in this installment which forces Shrek to undertake the running of the kingdom unless he can find the heir called Arthur. Even after Shrek finds Arthur, the journey back home is not an easy one.

I really like the idea/theme in Shrek series that revolves around fairytale characters and settings. I don’t know about the guys, but as a girl, I’ve definitely have enough share of stories like Snow White, Cinderella, Peter Pan and so many more. To incorporate these characters into the series is a clever move in my opinion and I think that’s what works in their favour.

However, I find that Shrek and Shrek 2 remain my favourites. I watched them very long ago, hence I’ve no idea if I was more impressionable then, but they certainly seem funnier and wittier to me. Shrek the Third felt like there was no surprise and that there are no new implications or characters that can add spice to the plot. Arthur wasn’t really counted. Besides, I see not much resemblance to King Arthur [ if that’s what they were referring to] except… well the name.

I haven’t watched Shrek Forever After [ I love the pun though(:] but I will be renting the DVD to watch it. In conclusion, Shrek the Third wasn’t a bad movie, in my opinion, but I must say that I’m glad I didn’t catch it in the theatres. Renting the DVD was actually quite enough.

On to Bedtime Stories.

It’s a fantasy-comedy movie starring Adam Sandler as Skeeter Bronson who worked as a handyman in the hotel set up by Nottingham. Even though Nottingham promised Skeeter Bronson’s father that he would let his son be the manager when he grew up, this promise never materialised and till that day, Skeeter Bronson remained as a handyman. Then, Nottingham announced his plans for a new hotel and instead of appointing Skeeter Bronson as the manager of that hotel, he appointed his daughter’s boyfriend, Kendall, to take up the job. Skeeter had to babysit his sister’s children and he realised one day, that the bedtime stories these children came up with actually became true in real life. More adventures and twists in the plot follow this epiphany.

Right. I’m not following the popular opinion or anything, but this movie was a letdown. I can’t tell why this is considered to be a comedy when I didn’t laugh at all during the whole movie. There weren’t any funny jokes at all! The plot didn’t flow and things were not addressed properly. Scenes jumped from one to another and we were left to infer what happened based on the dialogue. It might be intentional but instead, it gave me a feeling that they’ve gotten on a train they didn’t want to catch and they can’t wait to move to the end.

The only thing that got me going was watching how the fantasies work out in real life. There was wordplay. For example, Skeeter Bronson got incinerated in the story. In real life, he was fired by Nottingham.  That’s all, unfortunately. It was nice watching the kids because they are so, so cute, but I didn’t like Skeeter Bronson and that kinda sucks cos he’s the protagonist after all.

You know what, I couldn’t wait to get to the end of the movie as well, and not in a good way.

Both movies have one similarity and that’s the predictability of the plots. The bad guys get punished and the good guys live happily ever after. I can accept it in Shrek because that’s what fairytale characters do! They all have their happy endings in the end. It might be a slack job on the scriptwriters part but hey, there’s no way they can get out of the ‘happy-ending’ because they aren’t supposed to. For Bedtime Stories, unless it’s because a bedtime story should happen like a fairytale, I see no reason why every single element in the plot has to be so predictable.

That’s all for now!

Lovely Complex Review

credits:www.karrenjavier.com/watch-love-…des-1-3/

Lovely Complex was an anime that I’ve watched a month ago. It revolves around a 172cm tall girl called Risa Koizumi and a 156 short boy called Atsushi Otani and their relationship. Risa and Otani were always the comedy duo in school but things changed when Risa realised that she fell in love with Otani. Otani rejected her because he could not accept her as a girlfriend. However, Risa persevered and things started to work in her favour. Lovely Complex also featured their school lives as well!

So.. when I watched this, I had this question in mind from the start till the end — Is it really possible for a tall girl to fall in love with a short guy? I’m not talking about things like a 180cm girl with a 170cm guy. This is a guy that is short, even without comparison to Risa’s height. I asked myself this question and I realised my answer was a ‘Maybe’. I was surprised because I would have thought my answer was a No. I thought that there’s no way I could accept someone so much shorter than me, seeing that I’m not very tall in the first place. However, this anime changed my perspective. It might, in the end, really depend on the personalites.

That really got me thinking.

I like this anime because well, it’s sweet and funny. Otani and Risa were after all, a comedy duo and hence there are always comic acts whenever they were around. Otani is sweet. He may be short but if I’m not wrong, he’s pretty popular among girls because they know that he’s nice and he’s quite cool while playing basketball. He even became the captain of the basketball team, I was so amazed!

As you watch this anime, you find yourself rooting for Risa and you can’t help but keep going " WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID OTANI" because he’s this insensitive lump of …. something when it comes to Risa’s feelings. He didn’t know that Risa liked him even though the most obvious hints were dropped in his face. I was like !!!! at him and I really wanted to do something, except you know.. you can’t because he’s inside the computer screen. Of course, even though he’s insensitive, it doesn’t mean that he’s mean or anything. Quite the opposite actually. So watch and find out what happen between the two of them!

There are shortcomings definitely. Some parts were quite draggy and there was a point where I was bored because Risa couldn’t stop crying. She cried at every single thing and I was quite put off by that. Then she sort of redeemed herself because of her perserverance so this anime will still be a good watch!

I find myself noticing tall-girl-short-guy couples on the streets nowadays and I can’t help but wonder Do they have a romantic story behind them as well?

I’m going to hunt out and watch the live action drama soon:D
