Aishiteruze Baby Review

      credit: http://www.animekiwi.com/aishiteruze-baby/

All right I’m on a roll!:D Here’s the review on Aishiteruze Baby anime:D

It’s about how a teenage boy, Kippei, found himself with the responsiblity of taking care of his 5 year old cousin called Yuzuyu after her mother sort of abandoned her. Originally nothing but a playboy, Kippei grew and mature into a caring and thoughtful caretaker, and finally had a serious relationship with a quiet classmate, Kokoro.

This anime focuses on serious issues like child abuse and sucidal thoughts etc but it was praised for being able to introduce those issues in a light hearted manner so that the show does not get too depressing. I’ve decided to do some screencaps on my own instead of searching the net out there, so meet the cast:

Kokoro

Yuzuyu [kawaii ne~~]

Shouta

Tadah! Kippei:D

Kippei was a popular guy in school due to his looks and happy go lucky personality. As such, he was often found with girls hanging around him, throwing themselves at him and I don’t know… kissing him.

I really like this anime because other than romance, it also talks about issues in our every day lives. This anime can get people involved with the themes and topics it has chosen, like child abuse. In about 4 episodes, it talks about how this small kid, Shouta, at Yuzuyu’s preschool always got abused by his mum. In another 4 episodes, it revolves around Yuzuyu’s cousin called Mimi who had suicidal thoughts. I like how Yuzuyu brought a change to Kippei’s life and how Kippei in turn, changed those around him. Kippei was originally already a kind hearted soul but it was Yuzuyu who taught him responsiblity and commitment. It was Yuzuyu, that he was able to have a serious relationship with Kokoro [which means heart in Japanese… I find that cool!]

Yuzuyu herself was abandoned by her mother, but she was mature for her age. Perhaps, the most innocent viewpoint is the best perspective. Sometimes we get so caught up in the world that we forgot… the simplest things can bring a lot of pleasure and happiness. My getaway from watching this 26-episodes anime is about the ability to forgive actually. For different people, they will learn different things, but for me, what struck me was how the young and innocent 5 year olds could forgive so easily. While I waited for the videos to load on Youtube, I looked at what others had commented and it was all almost on the same tone How could the mother have hit the kid?! or I really hate her! or That girl is such a b****. [ah well you can imagine the variations]

Yet, I realise that each and every single character in the anime is forgiven ultimately. I have no idea if this would be a spoiler, but yes they are all forgiven. The "evil" characters repent, realise their mistakes and apologise, but you know what? This anime showed that there’s nothing really that can be labelled as evil. Each person has his or her own stories and unless we put ourselves in their shoes, it is hard to change anything. The mother hit the kid because she was depressed but the kid’s love for her helped to save her from going into deeper depression. Yuzuyu’s mum abandoned her because she hit her once and didn’t think herself as capable of raising a kid. Kippei and Yuzuyu [ and Kokoro and Kippei’s family members] were understanding and they could really do the " put yourselves in others’ shoes" thing.

Of course, not everything’s perfect. I find this anime a little draggy at times when characters have actions that are supposed to mirror the reality but it actually slows down the pace. For example, when a character in the anime thinks, he or she is almost like a human in reality — pondering over the options and weighing them etc, but watching the anime character paused for 5-8 seconds in the same position can be tiring. Also, I didn’t really like how Kippei continued to grope Kokoro after they got together, even though the situation got better in the end. Perhaps Kippei likes skinship a lot? Their second kiss and they were already on the staircase landing with Kippei’s hand under her t-shirt on her chest. I’m not complaining though when I say this is one of the animes that I’ve watched so far with so many kisses:P

To end off things on a happy note, what Kippei said in the anime would be what I want to tell you out there, "Even if you lose everything, just stop and look around. I’m sure there is someone watching over you…. Don’t be sad, don’t lose hope.. Don’t forget that…… you are not alone!"

P.S It’s really funny how I can guess accurately each time when Kokoro and Kippei are going to kiss. I thought I was amazing until I realise it was because they used the same background music everytime that happens:P

Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélié Poulain Review

Starring Audrey Tautou

This is one of the most  famous French movies ever and so I’ve decided to give it a go. To summarise it to the simplest point, it’s about how this young woman Amelie changed the lives of those around her by secretly doing things to help them. She helped strike up a love connection at her workplace between a druggist and a beer drinking grouch; she sent her dad’s garden troll around the world as a way to convince her dad to travel around the world etc. Her kindhearted strategies aimed to help those around her to be happier and she succeeded.. but what about her own dreams and desires?

I study French as a third language in school so I’m not that good in it but I’ve survived. I like French as a language and since I’m free from examinations, I’ve decided to try out those famous French movies that I’ve heard. To be honest, when I first watched a french movie, I had a shock — French movies exhibit an entirely different feel as compared to those American films. I wouldn’t say they’re strange, but I was taken aback. Yet, as I explore this different culture, I’ve decided to coin French movies with a different word other than strange and that’s "quirky", quirky in a good way too.

Amelie was quirky for me I will admit. Yet, I have a feeling it’s precisely of it’s quirkiness that got itself a name. Amelie was someone that most people could identify with. Everyone has their own strange habits and quirks, and to see Amelie portraying those habits kind of struck a chord in me. People can relate.

I hesitate to give too much of my opinion because firstly, this is a good movie and I wouldn’t say that I can do justice no matter what I write. Also, I have not watched enough French films to be able to compare. Lastly, I believe the essence of words and meaning might have been lost through the process of translation. I can understand French [ well, a little through hearing] but I put on the subs just in case and in the end I really enjoyed this movie. In a sense, there is not much of a plot present in this movie; it’s just about how Amelie helped other people, and how someone she helped, helped her back in the end. However, it’s watching how those small attempts and schemes on her part can go a long way to change others lives.

Amelie showed me another perspective, though I might not necessarily agree with it. For example, in the movie, there’s a woman who was sad and depressed because her husband had an affair and died in an airplane accident together with his lover. For years, she lamented about the past where her husband and her were still loving. Amelie then read those letters that her husband wrote to her way back before he had an affair, and wrote a letter to the woman in the name of her husband, so as to convince her that his heart was with her even till his death. Now… usually I wouldn’t approve of this at all, because the husband did wrong. The husband cheated on her and broke her heart. What did he do right that the woman should forgive him? That was my first thought. Yet I guess, it’s better to put down the past and move on with your lives instead of getting stuck in the yesterday, and that’s what Amelie helped the woman to do.

This movie has gotten me thinking what I can do to help those around me. I may not be able to come up with smart schemes like Amelie, but a small kind act can go a long way.

Do watch it when you have time!

   – Thus, I leave with a quote from Amelie. Not inspirational like my usual quotes, but I still like it nevertheless-

What Kind of Hit Counters to Use

All right! So here’s the entry on What Kind of Hit Counters to Use . I’ve only tried a few though but I’ve decided to just share with you guys which hit counters are the better ones in my opinion.

First off, I’ve been testing hit counters from the following websites: www.amazingcounter.com , www.tinycounter.com , www.flagcounter.com , www.easycounter.com , www.statcounter.com  in private entries. The ones that I’ve placed in the sidebars come from statcounter and flagcounter.

I would recommend statcounter — it’s easy to use, easy to configure and offers lots of information for a free account. When using statcounters, all you need to do is to sign up for an account, configure your counter and choose the options like what number you would like to start count on. Another point why I like statcounter is that you can choose how long a visitor needs to take before he’s counted as a unique visitor again. As I want my hits to be reliable, and I don’t want to inflate my hit counts just so… it looks good, I like this option very much because you can choose whether a visitor needs to visit from 30mins-24hours later before his visit is counted as a unique hit again. [Note: Pageloads are counted by hits while unique vistors are apparently tracked by cookies, uhm not the ones you eat but some IT thing. This means that if VisitorX comes to my livejournal and refreshed a page 10 times, a counter that counts pageloads will inflate by 10 counts but a counter that counts only unique visitors will only inflate by 1 count]

Also, statcounter.com offers statistics based on 500 pageloads like popular pages, visitors paths, visit lengths and more detailed information that help a lot in analysing what exactly is on your site that attracts readers. The thing is, if I’m not wrong, some of the statistics are based on only 500 page loads. If you want to base it on more than 500 pageloads, you will then need to pay a sum of money.

For flagcounters, it is useful because you can track what country each visitor comes from and which country your site is most popular in. However, I realise that flagcounter.com does not allow you to change the duration of the session each visitor has to take before he’s counted as unique again, so it might actually increase at a faster rate than the statcounter. This is not to say though that it’s not reliable; it’s just that it does inflate more quickly that’s all.

As for the rest of the counters, as I have mentioned before, they seem to count hits in a very weird way. Even though I have chose the option of "Unique visitors", they seem to count pageloads or simply stop counting hits at times. Also, sometimes, for the tinycounter.com, it does not count any hits except when you actually press on the hit counter itself, which is you know kinda weird.

I do need to clarify that I have tested all these counters in private entries and I have no idea if putting them in private entries will hinder their function in any way. However, the statcounter and the flagcounter that are in my private entries tally with the ones in the sidebars so they are not affected by whether it’s public or private.

All right, that’s the end of this entry! I hope it’s useful to you readers out there who might be a little curious as to how many hits your sites are getting. Each person requires a different thing, so go on and search for that hit counter that works to your wants(:

On a side note, statcounter might be a little confusing because there are just so many statistics that are offered based on the analysis of your pageloads and unique visitors. However, that is a plus point as well, isn’t it?

Have fun and go forth with the experiments!:D

Playful Kiss Episode 13 Recap

I love this episode as well!:DD First off, I have an obsession over his hair.. LOL. I realise I like celebs that kinda look the same… like Kim Hyun Joong and Yamapi? I don’t know.. I think they look a little similar and my friends have mistaken one for the other before. Also I read online before that Kim Hyun Joong is like the korean version of Yamapi. Anyway, on to the recaps!~~~ :DDD

Episode 13 Recap of Playful Kiss<3 AHH SWEETNESS OVERLOAD!:D

and and!

My last post of the day I swear:DD [ I love typing so much]

I have a feeling that I will regret whatever I typed for the past few hours when I wake up tomorrow and read them again — it’s either gonna be full of spelling mistakes because I haven’t proof read them or it’s filled with ultra weird comments. Somehow, I tend to get a little high when it’s late and I’m tired. hmm.

ANYWAY what was I saying? Oh yeah! This is just to tell you guys that I actually set up a twitter account quite some time ago on a spur of the moment — You can follow me at thoughtsramble :DD I haven’t tweeted anything except this stupid sounding tweet which goes " Hi!:D Have created an account which is to promote my blog etc" but that isn’t really the case.  I just thought that it would be fun if people do follow me and I can interact with them in a more convenient way!:D

So since I have more time on my hands now, I will like to try this out so please do come follow me at www.twitter.com/thoughtsramble :DD

See you!:D

Playful Kiss

LOL but anyway seriously I’m not kidding his hair looks awesome in the episodes to come<33333

Just to clarify, [ I think] I am better at writing reviews rather than writing recaps because I tend to synthesise what I was thinking into one "essay" and it’s kinda hard to do recaps. Playful Kiss is my first drama recaps so it might be less professional as compared to the famous sites out there that do lots of recaps. Nevertheless, I see my recaps as a way to share with the world out there what I think of the show and my point is always this — it’s always better to watch it yourself. Hence, my recaps are a little too longwinded in my own opinion because I want to bring even the smallest details to the readers. 😀 Just saying:D

Other than Episode 13 recap tomorrow, [ I foresee mad screencapping in for the next four episodes] there will be other posts on hit counters [ I’m actually excited this like. okay.] and lovely complex.

Oh right, and I’ve started on this anime called Ashiteru Ze Baby. It looks really good:D

<3thoughtsramble
P.S I’m kinda half dead now lol the first day of freedom after examinations and I’m awake in the wee hours. I always thought wee hours
sounded weird, don’t you think so?

hahahhaha oh my…

I was still wondering if there is something really wrong because now the hit counter is jumping much faster than the guests stats, so I went to take a closer look… and I realise to my amusement, guests stats [livejournal tracks who has been to the journal] only tracks those logged in users, which means that only Livejournal users will be shown there… I am currently laughing at how slow I am in realising this seriously:D

Yes I love it whenever I realise/learn something new!:DD I think I might post a really short entry on hit counters actually(: The thing is I’m still doubting the reliability of the hit counter so… we will see how(:

Hit counter

If you are observant enough, or have been reading my earlier entries, you might have realised that I’ve added a widget to my sidebar:DD That’s right! A hit counter that counts only unique visitors… The thing is when I first tested this test counter as a private entry, it’s not jumping in tandem with what livejournal guests stats shows me.. so I was wondering if putting the hit counter in an entry hinders its function in any way and hence I’ve put it in the sidebar.

I’ll be checking the numbers with the guests stats of course, and if it still doesn’t increase properly I will take it down again(: Somehow I have more readers in the guests stats than what is shown in the counter and I’m just curious why..

Nevertheless, this whole episode of hit counters and what not has made me very happy because I’ve learnt a new thing! — how to put a widget in the sidebar:P

Yes I’m an IT noob:D Till then see you guys!

BRR

You know what pisses me off the most? When people form opinons not because of what they really think but what they see and hear. I’m someone who places a lot of emphasis on thinking with what I really feel, and it just irritates me how people can complain about things which I will have been very happy to hear out until I read that exact same complaint or opinion online, I’m literally this –> =.=

I mean it’s fine if you simply agree with what they say and all, but isn’t it sad that your opinions are so easily influenced by what others think? It is even more irritating if I know that the original you wouldn’t have said that but you did in reality just because you read those things.

GAH I might be irritated at trivial things but yes, this is one thing that will definitely tick me off. We have brains you know, it’s time to use them and judge the veracity of things that we read.

Sorry for rant, it’s not called thoughts rambling for nothing gah.

Kaichou Wa Maid Sama Review

credits:metanorn.kokidokom.net/2010/01/k…nounced/

Yes, I’ve finally gotten to writing a review on this!:D It’s quite a recent anime and has only finished just a few weeks ago I think. I can’t really keep track of time nowadays lol.

The girl, called Misaki Ayuzawa, was the president of the student council of Seika High Academy. She worked very hard to change the school environment as it was a previously-all-boys-school-recently-changed-to-coeducation-school. So she tried to protect the interests of the girls so that the girls would like the school environment. The guy, Usui Takumi, was totally unrelated to her, until one day he found out that she was working in a maid cafe as a part time job. Soon, he began to visit the maid cafe very often. At first it was just to irritate her but slowly, he fell in love with her. Yet, Misaki Ayuzawa remained clueless and continued to treat him like a rival. Watch to find out what happened between the two of them!

Yep! This is the anime that motivated me to watch Special A. Even though I can see the high similarities here, but it’s still quite good on it’s own [kaichou wa maid sama]. Usui is a heart-throbber and he’s just perfect. I must confess that I have actually forgotten some parts of the anime as I had to watch it in installments every week, so the first few episodes were watched like months ago. 😛 Nevertheless, I can tell you safely that Usui’s utter sweetness just makes people love him. He always protects Misaki and rushes to her rescue when she needs help. However, I didn’t like Misaki that much in the sense that she’s too conventional and typical. She’s just like the normal kind of girl in dramas who works hard and cannot get a clue about the people’s feelings around her. I like her reasonably well, but it’s kinda boring to watch her always blush and then starts scolding Usui whenever Usui teases her or does something sweet.

Yet, of course it is very fulfilling to finally see them ending up together [no that wasn’t really a spoiler, I know that you know that they will end up together:P] after TWENTY SIX EPISODES>< I have the usual doubts whenever I watch something like this Are you sure the guy likes the girl that fast? Are you sure the girl is that clueless? and so on, but yes this is the time to suspend our disbelief and just watch for the sweet chemistry between them. There are really sweet and funny moments and I must say, I especially love to watch how Usui saves her.

That’s not to say that I’m not dubious about it. Like seriously, there’s only so many times that you can fall, trip, jump, AND STILL LAND ON THAT GUY SAFE AND SOUND. Hahahahah but I’m not saying that I don’t like it! It’s just that it’s quite a typical anime that you watch for the same things and nothing new.

However, if you are hunting for something to while away the time and to laugh or ogle or gush at, this will be quite perfect, especially since all the episodes are out!:DD

AND..

AND… I will like to put hit counters on my website, and I’ve been fiddling around with some, BUT THE THING IS, no matter how I set the counter to count unique visitors [ I swear I double checked] they count pageviews=.= So, here’s asking you guys if you all know any good hit counters to put, that actually do reliably count unique visitors?:D

    — I hope you guys have been liking my livejournal:D-

YES I HAVE WATCHED EPISODE 11 AND I AM CURRENTLY BRIMMING WITH THINGS TO SAY but unfortunately due to examinations and all, this recap will only come during the weekend!:DD Nevertheless, you can satisfy your eyes with this —

AHHHHHHH DID I EVER SAY HOW MUCH I LOVE HIS HAIR AFTER HE SHOWERS AND HE SMILES:DD  I’m sorry I totally sound like a perv now LOL.

Till then, see you guys! Can’t wait to watch Episode 12 tomorrow, there will only be 4 episodes left…

<3thoughtsramble
     – Please check out my other recaps and reviews other than Playful Kiss! Thank you!-
When everything falls around you, maybe, they are falling for you

Just asking!

Hey guys! I’m thinking of putting any present and future Playful Kiss Recaps under the lj cut just so it’s easier to navigate around on the webpage:D This is because I find that my recaps are quite long, and it is actually very tedious to scroll about so, be sure to always click on that link and not be lazy!:DD

Thank you!^^

AHHH

I’m going to try fiddling with the layout of livejournal; I hope I don’t screw anything up:S I’m a noob at tweaking IT stuffD:

[edit] For the time being, I’ve decided not to touch the basic layout of this livejournal because I’m very sure something will blow up if I touch the custom stylesheet or something lol>< I’ve changed some texts and found the very wonderful ‘sticky post’!:D As for the rest, they shall remain the same; I realise this is one of my most favourite layout!

For the tags though, do you think I should put in ‘clouds’ a.k.a like how it is now, or put it as a list?

[double edit] I’ve decided to try out the ‘list’ layout for a while first. It looks more organised:D Also, I will be doing a review on Lovely Complex and La Corda D’Oro the next few days! Playful Kiss might take the form of reviews as well because instead of ‘ I’m going to have my exams soon’, it’s ‘ I’m having my exams now’. GAH. I really hate exams. If only I have someone like Seung Jo to help me get pass><

Did you know that Playful Kiss/ Itazura No Kiss that were based on manga were actually also based on the true experiences of the person who drew the manga?

I mean that’s so sweet! and cool kinda, because I always thought that dramas don’t come true in real life…

though it’s quite sad that she died so young.D: To this date, the manga has an unfinished ending…

<3thoughtsramble
    – I don’t know if I should give up doing these reviews… it’s like I feel I’m bad in this and I’m not getting
readers…I guess I will see how first.. I always told myself that I will write because I love it and not
because I want people to notice this.. but even this gets kinda hard after a  while, though some have
told me that I haven’t written for very long anyway… gahhhh-
For every sixty seconds spent being upset is a minute of happiness lost

PLAYFUL KISS EPISODE 6 RECAP

YAY just to inform you guys, I’m going to start "cleaning up" my livejournal and putting entries that I think not many people will read under lj cuts. This is because I insist of having ALL my entries on one page, and I’m not sure if readers will have a hard time loading every single thing. SO yep!

Also, on a spur of the moment, I’ve decided to start ending off my entries with certain quotes and stuff, so look out for them!

All right, here’s the screenshots I took 😛 I feel like a total pervert — wait, pause, enlarge screen, screenshot, esc large screen, paste, save

AHHH I love the second last screenshot<333 I have friends who told me that they are dying from jealousy hahaha. ARE YOU DYING FROM JEALOUSY AS WELL?

A small recap here for episode 6: Seung Jo didn’t sit for his interview and Ha Ni was dying from guilt. She decided to leave his house because she realised how much trouble she had brought him. Seung Jo found her with her suitcase but didn’t attempt to stop her. Instead he asked her if she needed help with her suitcase. Ha Ni was a little disappointed that he didn’t stop her from leaving, but he handed her a envelope, telling her that it was from Parang University. Opening the letter, Ha Ni realised that it was not addressed to her, but to Seung Jo. Seung Jo had decided to go to Parang University.

Apparently, he had been invited to the university with offers of scholarships and stuff. Ha Ni was overjoyed and asked if she could stay now. She promised that she would make his life at Parang University very enjoyable. Seung Jo agreed. Brimming with gratitude, she went shopping for a gift for Seung Jo but realised that all the presents she had in mind were too expensive. She started taking up part time jobs and Seung Jo suspected something because now she was always returning home late.

There was this particularly very cute scene when Seung Jo happened to buy a drink from the exact same convenience store that Ha Ni was working in. He walked to the cashier only to get a shock because a woman in a jacket zipped all the way up to the head was standing there [ Ha Ni who decided to hide behind her spiderman looking jacket]. She could not see, so she asked Seung Jo how much money he gave her, and asked him to take the change himself from the counter. After he left, Ha Ni realised that the manager of the store heard the exchange and she was sacked. She then went to take a job at the restaurant and did deliveries for them.

She was told to do another delivery and only realised upon arriving at the door step that it was Baek Seung Jo who ordered it. Guess who was at the door when Seung Jo came out to pay for his meal? Yes, a woman in a black zipped up jacket. It was hilarious.

Other highlights of the show include them at the Graduation ceremony where Ha Ni had another fantasy and she cried out "Yes I do!" [ she imagined that she was getting married with Seung Jo] She also fell on Seung Jo as she walked down the stage. I’m nowhere as cute as Ha Ni, but somehow I can totally relate to her clumsiness…. because here’s someone who can crash into the wall on a daily basis.

OF COURSE, the main highlight of the show is their kiss. You can go to the top of this entry again and take a look. I rewinded that scene twice [ahem.] while someone I know rewinded it at least six times. Ha Ni woke up giggling as she recalled the kiss but she suspected that Seung Jo was just playing with her. She was very confused about what exactly is their relationship when a new love rival turns up. The new love rival by the way acted as Jan Di’s best friend in BOF. I highly suspected she did something to her face, because she’s SO pretty here!

So, a new setting with a new rival [Jang Mi is now out of the picture I hope. Here’s a serious love rival, watch out!] with new things that they can do in the university. Things are now getting really exciting! Was it just me though, who laughed out loud when Seung Jo’s permed hair was shown for the first time on screen? He looked cute, yet I need time to get used to it seriously. IT LOOKS LIKE A FREAKING SOMETHING HAD EXPLODED ON TOP OF HIS HEAD HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Woots, how on earth are we supposed to wait every week for the episodes to come out all the way till NOVEMBER? Also, I don’t know if I should continue with recaps for the show or reviews…

Playful Kiss Episode 6

I AM WATCHING EPISODE 6 OF PLAYFUL KISS NOW:DDD

They kissed they kissed!!!!

dang it, anyway I’ve heard and seen other sites saying that episode 5 of Playful Kiss only took in 3% for episode ratings… I haven’t found the ratings for episode 6 yet, but I don’t think they will be good either..D: I guess the only thing now is to wait for next week’s episodes to come out, and see if the ratings will go above 4%?

I just don’t get it, why are the ratings so low? I’ve seen shows with worse acting and lousier plots with better ratings, so it can’t be that right?

I’ll be waiting for Episode 7 and 8 to come out next week and you bet I will be stuck to the computer screen watching it right away. If only I can understand Korean.

Right, I’m getting back to the episode, things are getting interesting!

Playful Kiss Episode 5

Yes. I’ve finally watched it!! kya~~~

Obviously Seung Jo didn’t do anything to Ha Ni when he pushed her down on to the bed; it was just teasing on his part, but it got Eun Jo pretty worried through out the whole episode. I think  he kinda suspects that Seung Jo is slowly, but surely falling in love with Ha Ni! The highlights of this episode includes knowing the results of Seung Jo’s written examination, the scene where he showed off in front of Ha Ni, and right at the end, where Ha Ni got knocked down by a car. He admitted Ha Ni to the hospital and left to take his entrance interview for a prestigious university, but turned up again later at her ward, surprising everyone.

It is my guess that he didn’t go for his examination after all, because someone told me that he got into the same university as Ha Ni which wasn’t good at all.

I realise something — Kim Hyun Joong can’t act very well for some scenes! Like, in my opinion, he acted quite well for the scenes that needed emotions — angry scenes, happy scenes, "jealous" scenes… but when there are scenes that needed him to take a further step out of that comfort zone, he couldn’t… Still, that’s just what I think, and anyway no matter what, I thought he improved a lot from Boys Over Flowers.

I LOVE HIS SMILE O MY GOSH. When Ha Ni realised that she got into the university, Seung Jo heard and smiled. That smile is… just cannot be described. Don’t you find that lots of Korean Stars have smiles that dazzle fangirls to no end? I realise yet another thing, that I have been dazzled by three out of four actors from Boys over Flowers! First it was Kim Bum when he was in BOF, then it was Lee Min Ho when it was Personal Preference, and now Kim Hyun Joong for Playful Kiss. I’ve not "fangirled" over something like this for a long time, and I guess it’s because I can relate to it… not in the sense that I have exciting things like this happening to me as well, but rather because my age and the characters’ ages are very similar, hence I can actually understand the different things that they are going through.

WOSH. Since I will be having exams soon, I guess I will only do reviews on Playful Kiss! I will be updating soon with a review on La Corda D’Oro [ which I’ve finished watching<3]

Till down, see you again!

P.S Please help me spread the existence of this livejournal around! KAM SAH HAM MI DAH~~~

La Corda D’Oro

I am going mad seriously….. mad with watch La Corda D’Oro!!!!<333

If telling you that I’ve watched 20 episodes of it [apparently there’s 25 episodes in total for the first season] in a day and a half doesn’t tell you anything, I don’t know what will. I will put a review about it soon, since there’s only 25 episodes, but I wish I wouldn’t love it so much! Putting aside the fact that watching it takes up a lot of time, not that I mind it, I will be very very sad when it ends…. D:

Some people may not like it though, because it’s an anime focused mainly on music. However, it has some parts focused on romance! It’s based on the typical kind of manga where there’s one main girl and everyone falls in love with her… yep.

The music’s really nice, and it always makes my day when I hear my favourite piece played by one of the characters in the anime… like Schubert’s Serenade<3

AND there’s so many likeable characters in the anime as well! In fact everyone’s so nice and awesome in their own way, I can’t decide who I will cheer for to be with Hino [ the main girl ]>< Hahaha, I know it’s just an anime, it’s not real life, but still. 😀

So, see you guys in a few days!

Also…

What’s wrong with me today! I keep having the urge to type a post><

Anyway this is really short: Hmm I realise that [I shall be honest here] that my livejournal traffic isn’t really picking up. I’m kinda sad not because of the low traffic per se, but because I want to make more friends really! I want to meet more friends that disagree or agree with me on the dramas that I love/hate. SO this is just to ask for help! That if you like my livejournal, please comment^^ and tell your other friends about it as well.

To be honest, I was thinking of closing down this livejournal, but I’ve decided, that even if few people are reading this, I will write for at least myself, and those who keep coming back. THANK YOU to those loyal readers, it’s because of you that I didn’t stop this.

so… ONEGAISHIMASU! Please comment^^[things are getting so lonely here, I’m like monologuing each time] whenever you come and help me get it out there.

thank you><

P.S I’m still waiting excitedly for Episode 5 of Playful Kiss to come out. Apparently, he did not get into a good university because of Ha Ni!! I know it’s necessary so as to create more scandals and love stories, but is it just me, or do you want to pick up a hammar right now and throw it at her!! Say yes

Playful kiss

Well, I was just checking out some sites like Dramabeans and articles on Playful Kiss and I was …. sad. I already knew that the episode ratings of Playful Kiss was bad, but give it some chance eh? Apparently, people [ Im not saying all] blame the 3.5% of the first episode on Kim Hyun Joong and his bad acting.

This is just my opinion, that he has improved a lot from BOF. There’s a reason why I didn’t like him in BOF and I do now in Playful Kiss right? [ Putting aside the fact that he looks much better here] and that reason is that I could see him acting to the potential of the character. There are people who say that oh, he doesn’t act arrogant enough etc, but each rendition from the manga would have its differences. Honestly saying, I don’t think that the male lead in the taiwan version was much better, but the episode ratings for that one was good. [I think]. Why? I think this is because Playful Kiss has to face more competition from other channels like KBS and SBS. Besides, a lot of the viewers actually come from online, so the episode ratings would not register as well.

Some like dramabeans critisize the plot. I guess this is why at times, I do like japanese dramas much more than korean dramas. Japanese dramas are more… realistic.. in a sense. Jap dramas can show the playful side of life by dotting themselves with funny stories and antics of the characters. They can be absolutely lame, to no point, to I don’t know… well you get the point. They do it, we love it. Yet other dramas can’t do that because then all the viewers will start critisizing it for the lack of plot, or lack of motivation behind the elements of the plot.

I can see where that is coming from, but for me [ and I’m sure I’m not the only one] what stuck with me ultimately is not the conflict, but the interaction between the characters, and this is why I like Playful Kiss a lot. There’s a reason why Buzzer Beat is one of my favourite dramas as well.

Ah. I guess that’s why Japanese Dramas always aren’t very famous until some other country decides to do it in their own way.

So. Even though I don’t like it, I guess it’s Playful Kiss’s fault for playing up to the wrong target audience. Or maybe it was just their first episode [ honestly I forwarded past that one].

Why am I ranting about this? Ack. So basically, my whole point is just that — Give it a chance and maybe you will find a treasure! You have to admit that his acting is improved, right?

Also, is it just me, or don’t you find Jung So Min looking a lot like Eun Hye?

Right, I think I’m done here. I’m wallowing in sadness that the next episode only comes out next Thurs. Ah well.
