Britain’s Next Top Model

Oh yeah(:

Haha! The reason why I’m currently not hooked on any drama is because I’m hooked on this reality tv show!:D It’s another version of ANTM ( American’s Next Top Model ) except with lesser melodrama ( yay!:D Good for me) and more er… nudity.

I’m currently watching the episode of the Final Four, but I already know who’s the winner! That’s because I watched from Youtube, and people there just can’t resist making spoilers. Oh well. So, just to warn you guys, if you are currently watching this, but you haven’t gotten to that particular episode, there’re spoilers ahead(:

Nicola is my favourite! It was such a pity that she got eliminated so fast because I wanted to see more shots of her. Charlotte was amazing to me. I don’t like her without make up, but with make up, she suddenly changes into someone that is so full of seductive appeal and she really gives awesome photos! I’ve always read about Amelias types, but I’ve never actually saw one on tv before. I’m referring to Amelia, who is a red haired girl with porcelain white skin! I mean, how many times have you read about those characters in books and guys all go gaga over them? "Her flaming red hair frames her face beautifully, and her porcelain white skin glistens under the sunlight…" Doesn’t that sound so familiar? ( glistening under the sunlight simply reminds me of Twilight) Anyway, I think that Amelia can’t really pose though. She always has the same expression…

The photoshoots here are more…. open in that sense because a lot of the times, the girls are barely covered. However, I see it more of art form than anything else, but I do know that some people may be disgusted… so it’s really up to you!:D

It’s a good watch though — I’ve watched 7 episodes at one go. It’s just so addictive. Gosh, am I one of those people that they always write about? Those that are addicted to the Internet and jump from link to link, and can’t resist pressing that button to go to the next page? Hahaha ah you can probably tell that I’m not very worried.

Heh:P

SPAMS

It’s definitely not because I’m getting more and more readers everyday, because to be honest with you, my readership has dropped ( which was kind of inevitable, because thoughtsramble tends to get more readers when there’s a collective interest in XXX drama or YYY drama), so pray tell me, why do I get so many spam messages???

Or perhaps they do not just attack those with more readers? Maybe they aim at everyone? Haha I have no idea, but I’m definitely seeing an increase in those weird messages that do nothing but advertise many, many sites and it’s kind of arghhhhhh + -.- for me right now. I get on an average, one of these messages every day and I wonder if they are posted there through some programme, or really by some person?:O

Heh?

I googled my livejournal name in for fun, and was relatively surprised to see that people have been quoting stuff that I wrote on this livejournal! I’ve no idea if I should be super flattered, because it never occurred to me that one day, people would be coming here and quote about the things I wrote to other people. I’m glad that most of them did their credits, but this has also caused me to be worried that there might be people taking things off this site, and then not acknowledging at all. Even though this should be taken as usual, and nothing to be worried about, but I don’t really like it:/ due to a super unpleasant experience. YepD:

Anyway, haha, yep I’m currently quite pleased. Lol.

On a day like this….

On a day when you are insanely bored/depressed/nothing better to do, what will you do?

How about – choosing some dramas to watch, a few movies here and there, and some books to light up your way? Even better, have some yummy food to accompany you on this journey!

I’ve always been recommending dramas, and dramas, and dramas, but if you have followed this livejournal for quite some time, you would have realised that I don’t just write about dramas alone! I write about books, movies, my own thoughts, reality tvs and more! It’s basically about anything that I will want to share with you guys out there, and so I was thinking, why don’t I recommend a mix of these things to you?
If you have an entire day to waste, and you are simply too lazy to go out, why don’t you –

1. Start with the appetizers. Do you have any favorite scenes from any dramas that you love? Well, rewatch them! I’m sure you can find them on Youtube, streaming sites, or even better, your own private collection of the dramas.

2. Watch Howl’s Moving Castle to warm up yourself. It’s an awesome watch filled with delightful characters, and I assure you that it’s not overrated.

3. Walk around, rest your eyes for a while, and then treat yourself to bloopers of your favorite shows. I simply adore them!!

4. Right into the main course, you can watch Spirited Away, Amelie ( with English Subs of course, if you don’t understand French) and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time at one go. Oh, don’t forget the cookies, chips and drinks!

5. Feeling rather full? How about some good books? If it’s raining, I recommend reading romance/mystery books. If it’s bright and sunny, how about some adventure instead? Agatha Christie’s not bad ( after you learn how to appreciate the simplicity in her plot ) and revisiting Roald Dahl or Nancy Drew can actually be quite nostalgic.

6. Watch a few episodes of Kindaichi ( anime or live action drama are both quite good!) and get immersed by just how awesome the plot is. I’m serious:O Alternatively, you can choose to watch Liar Game The Final Stage ( the movie).

7. Calm the hectic day by watching a few episodes of America’s Next Top Model — seemingly bimbotic, but it isn’t, at least to me(:

8. Of course, last but not least, you can always come back and check out my livejournal to see if I have posted any new entries. That’s always a nice ending, don’t you think?:D

Haha!

I had great fun writing this entry! It isn’t so much about recommendations than just a guide, because I’ve realized that dramas are highly not suitable to watch on a day, since they usually require a few days. I love how I finish a day, then realise that I’ve fully utilised it, and my definition of ‘fully utilising’ refers to doing things that I love.

If you are given a day to waste, and of course you would rather not waste it, what would you do?

My Princess

 The story so far…..

Lee Seul finds out that she’s a princess and because of that, Hae Young doesn’t want to let her become the princess as that will be equivalent to snatching his inheritance away. -gasp-

First few glances at the leads — okay not bad, funny, Kim Tae Hee’s a convincing university student(:

The plot after a few episodes starts to bore me a little, especially since Hae Young’s character doesn’t seem to be that attractive yet. I mean come on, a guy who helps you become a princess and overcomes all obstacles with you? Yeah grab him any time, but a guy who doesn’t want you to become a princess, and takes every opportunity to send you off to Egypt? Hmm I’m not so sure ( By the way, I’m at Episode 5. Slow I know:P) Yet, that being said, it doesn’t mean that I’m not amused by the cuteness of what the leads do/ the plot!

"Omo, why is his eyelashes so long?"

-touches her own in envy. LOL.

He looks like a super promising character!:D

Pretty pretty:D

I really like the part where the priest reads out the letter that Seul wrote to her mother. It was hilarious!:D

However…. I’m sorta thinking of dropping this drama… not coming to a complete halt per se, but rather, I’m thinking of exploring other dramas first, unless those who have watched more than 5 episodes of this drama can persuade me not to ( even my fellow ajummha friend has dropped this drama ). Hmm. For me, I guess it’s because Princess Hours was one of the first Korean Drama that I fell in love with, and anything to do with modern princesses just seem to be asking for a comparison…

Comments, anyone?

Spirited Away Review

Yay! I finally had time to write a review for this!:D

So Spirited Away was a classic animation movie as well, wasn’t it? I love the soundtrack, and the love between the characters. I’m not talking about just romantic love in that sense, I’m also referring to love between friends, and the love that you can give other strangers. Spirited Away was a little scary for me because of all the gory characters that they had. Okay, maybe they aren’t gory, but I will tell you that slugs and snails and frogs and scary huge lumps of smelly gods aren’t what I have in mind. Yet, in a way, these characters draw the viewers’ attention and captivates them as well.

In case there are readers who have no idea what this movie is about, I shall provide a short synopsis. Basically, there’s this girl called Chihiro who wandered into this abandoned amusement park with her parents and even though she told her parents not to, they still ate the food that was left cooking in a particular stall. She got bored and wandered around, until she reached a bridge. A boy suddenly appeared to tell her to leave quickly, and that he would distract them (identity of them unknown at that point in time). Chihiro was confused and went back to find her parents, only to find them having been turned into pigs. To cut the long story short, that’s how Chihiro found herself stuck in this bizarre world with shapeless translucent things called gods, and other characters. Who else better to help her survive in this world than the boy, Haku?

I really like the flow for this movie, and how relationships were built up. I admire Chihiro for her determination, love and perseverance, even though I didn’t like her at first due to her whining a lot. Yet, she proved to me that she was quite smart, and perhaps the reason for her complaining so much was because she had a bad gut feeling about the amusement park. This movie also shows that there are more than one side to any character. Just because he appears shy and timid doesn’t mean that he wouldn’t become scary and mean later, but at the same time, it doesn’t mean that once he becomes scary and mean that he’s a bad guy and wouldn’t change back to being kind. On the other hand, just because she turns characters into something else, it doesn’t mean that she’s evil.

It has been some time since I watched this movie, but I remember myself missing it a lot. A successful movie for me, is to be able to draw me into that world and makes me want to meet the characters. Even though Chihiro left the strange world in the end, and I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t desire to go back any time soon, I know that she would miss the friends she made there, and that was characters’ depth for me.

On a side note, I really like Haku. I mean, who doesn’t?

Summer Wars Review

I can’t seem to find a suitable picture for this, but I will just go ahead with the review(:

So, Summer Wars is about how this guy, Kenji, accidentally helps to break to security code that protects Oz, a virtual world which everyone in Japan depends on — for business, emails, shopping and more. After finding out that it’s his fault, he tries to save the situation by stopping the evil guy from taking in all the information of the accounts made in Oz. Together with the help of his senior’s family, Takashi, who is also his crush, they try to stop the evil guy.

I ventured into this animation movie because of the excellent impression that The Girl Who Leapt Through Time made on me. You could see the director’s hand in this, and his own style. However, I must admit that The Girl Who Leapt Through Time still remains my favourite out of the two movies. I’m not entirely sure why this is so, but I highly suspect it’s due to the subjects that the movie is centred on. Maybe the movie has deeper meanings like pointing out Japan’s high dependence on Internet and the virtual world, but it’s also presented through the characters playing computer games and fighting in the virtual world with their avatars — and to be honest, I can’t appreciate fighting that much, especially since it’s their avatars.

That being said, it was interesting to see the turn of events and how they planned to defeat the evil monster. The flow was quite good and the conflict was well played. It did capture my attention, and made me stay on to watch even though I may not being to fully appreciate all the fighting. This animation movie also portrays strong familial love between Takashi and her big family, and I guess Kenji learns something from there as well.

SO, after all of that being said, what would be my recommendation to you? I would say, watch it when you have time. It isn’t a must watch, in my opinion, but it will be a good watch for most. Maybe, if fighting and games appeal to you, you might want to check it out — unless you love fighting scenes only for the male characters’ abs, then er, I have nothing to say. (:

UPDATES

Hey guys! I’m so sorry for not being able to update but —– remember the performance that I was talking about a few entries ago? it’s finally over, and now I will have more time to dedicate to this site! I’m sorry but I definitely didn’t neglect you guys haha!:DD

Now that I’m quite out of touch with dramaland, would someone like to tell me what’s the hottest news out there?:D Is My Princess considered outdated already?:O

There’s a reason to anything that happen…

Haha that was a random title! How’s life for all my readers out there! Life has been really super hectic, but I miss posting entries on a daily basis! I’m currently watching My Princess now, and it’s kinda good — funny and nice, but no way romantic yet [ For your information, I’m still on Episode 3].

Here’s just a random shout out to all my loyal readers — thanks for your constant support, and help! I really appreciate it, and I love all your comments, so keep  them coming<3 For new readers, I hope that you will stay on to visit thoughtsramble on a regular basis, and then maybe you will soon come to love those things that I’m writing about as well:D

Even though I’ve been so busy, I try to read some stuff, and that’s how I found myself reading Agatha Christie’s books! As mentioned before, I find her a little too simple for my liking, since I was expecting hardcore, mind-boggling detective stories. Soon, I’ve come to realise that it might just be a part of her style, and perhaps, even the times that she wrote from.

Haha that’s all from me right now!  Expect a quick post here and a fast update there from time to time, and of course, I will continue to do recaps and reviews of dramas/books/movies that I like or hate. Ooh! I’m going to watch the Green Hornet soon! Have any of you caught it yet?

Secret Garden Episode 18-20

Ooops! It has been too long from the last episode of Secret Garden! Have you guys watched it?

It was really, really cute here when he got amnesia and thought that he’s 21 years old! He’s like this awkward, funny guy lol!

See what I mean?:D

Goshhhh a white grand<3 the showdown of the two love rivals!

SUCH A CUTE SHRUG!!!

Then a showdown between the two women in his life. Poor Oska! It was very funny here because his mum seems to have a much better impression after Seul took out the same perfume spray as her haha!

I think she’s so pretty! I can’t tell if she went through plastic surgery or not though:/

Sweet!

HIM PROPOSING — "I didn’t want to marry you because I love you -a look on Ra Im’s face- I want to marry you because I can ONLY love you, and I don’t want any other women in my life." AWW!

Before this, I was choking up with laughter for some weird reason that I cannot remember… I think it got to do with how much er Joo Won wanted to ahem do their first night thing together with Ra Im and it just somehow amuses me haha!

Concerned Tae Ssun.

Making out in the lift….. and getting caught by a whole group of subordinates.

SOH YE JIN!! If you had read my previous entry about her in Personal Preference, I mentioned that I really, really like her because she’s the first woman who struck me as beautiful [ with that whole package, not just the face ] and then I was quite disappointed because she aged so much in Personal Preference. However, I realise that she looked so much better here! Seriously, if Director can get this ending with Soh Ye Jin [ since she’s acting as herself in there! ] then I won’t feel bad for him at all, for not getting Ra Im.

You can tell that this entry is not so much of a recap, then just screenshots(: I really like this drama because of the great chemistry between the two leads! At first, I was a little bored because it seems to be a little repetitive when Ra Im kept pushing Joo Won away. Then they got together and things became really interesting, which was good. However, I will love dramas that have a conflict right till the last episode, which then resolve in a good and brilliant way, because that leaves so much more impact on me! The last episode of this drama was more of a…. concluding statement to all its characters and what happened to them etc. Not that I mind that much though, I mean it’s always great to watch more about the two of them in their cute, immature ways.

This drama isn’t perfect because it does have flaws — illogical points, sudden conflicts and miracles, but then again, which drama is perfect? I’m sure we all have that perfect drama in our heart, but till we find that wonderful, awe-inspiring drama, we can have a really satisfying meal with desserts, with dramas like Secret Garden. It was a really enjoyable watch for me, and I officially fell in love with Hyun Bin! Gotta love it that the mum kept her stand all the way though. I thought she will become this really nice old granny, but I guess not lol:P

Sorry if I flooded anyone’s Friends’ page:PP

Updates!

Yep so I’ve been away for more than a week and I apologise!:P

Things have been moving really quickly for me, and I’ve fallen sick as well. So take care, all my readers! I have a particular strong reaction to cold medicine. The non-drowsy ones give me a sense of being really detached and immobile, you can just imagine what the drowsy cold medicines do to me! [ Yes I’m currently on medication, so after this post, it’s time to sleep. I can’t really move my fingers anymore lol. ] I’ve also taken part in a performance which requires lots of commitment and time to prepare for. I’m really glad that I’ve joined because I love making friends and participating in new experiences. Right now, I haven’t fulfilled many of the goals that I wanted to achieve at the end of this mega-huge performance [ not solo of course! ] but I have faith that these hopes and wishes will come true!

I just finished Secret Garden last episode. Yes, how slow can I get? I’ve decided to start on My Princess soon, but I think I will have no time to do recaps either! I have a few reviews that I promised I will do in previous entries, and I’m still going to do them when things have quieten down more. I’ll probably do a few not-so-drama-related entries as well, so look forward to those!

As usual, keep those comments coming, because I love seeing new comments in my inbox! Even if I have no time to reply them within a day or two, rest assured that I’ll always reply to your comments with heartfelt sincerity:D

All right, I shall stop here. See you guys soon!

Secret Garden Episode 17 Minor Recap

So now that Ra Im knows that the man whom her father saved was Joo Won, she’s heartbroken, and there’s this cliche scene in some sense, where Ra Im calls Joo Won but he doesn’t know that she’s just behind him.

Joo Won learns that his mother wants to fire him, which causes Secretary Kim to whine "President~~~" "I told you, I’m not your president anymore." "Joo Wonie hyung!~~" Omg that was just  funny, looking at the outraged expression on Joo Won’s face. However, what he doesn’t know is that it’s a move on his mother part to threaten Ra Im to leave Joo Won. At first, Ra Im insists that she loves Joo Won and she will work hard to make it better, but his mother remains adamant that Joo Won should not have a flaw like Ra Im, thus ending her dramatic speech with "I will destroy his life." Like seriously? I couldn’t contain my doubts so I just had to post an entry on that single thought haha. Enters one of my cliches written in here –> thoughtsramble.livejournal.com/3120.html I’m not that annoyed or irritated about it though, because at least the reason that she gave Joo Won for the break up was believable — that she couldn’t stand looking at him because she would think of her father. I mean, how many korean dramas have you watched, that the female lead just give some stupid reason and the male believes it?

Ra Im and her stilettos0.0 When did she ever get to the stilettos? I thought she was always very macho-ish. She took out Joo Won’s Alice in Wonderland and placed something inside, when Oska came and found her.

The initial break up where she told him to leave without telling him any reason. The ‘official’ break up that I mention above happens later, but aww, look at the hurt in Joo Won’s eyes when Ra Im told him, "I have no time for emotional stuff now, so please just leave."

Ra Im went to film her Dark Blood drama but got into an accident when a drunk driver drove through the barricades and collided into her car. Secretary Kim shouted when he got the news, and when Joo Won turned around, he accidentally knocked over a vase of flowers. Omen~ Turns out that Ra Im has suffered serious brain damage and might not wake up. Ah~ I shall admit that I teared here, right there at the hospital scene.

After half a month, Ra Im still hadn’t woken up. Joo Won kept on taking care of her, and he wrote a letter to Ra Im, indicating some sorts of farewell and also a welcome. He drunk with Oska, and after Oska fell asleep, he cried while telling Oska that he knew Oska had always been losing to him on purpose, and he thanked him for that.

When I watched this episode, they didn’t translate the part where Joo Won wrote something down on the piece of paper, so I didn’t know he was looking at rain forecasts, but thanks to my awesome drama guessing skills [ hahah kidding! ], I knew that he was going to swap souls anyway and I was like damnit ahhh~~. Joo Won took Ra Im in her arms and in the car, he told her that he loved her, and that even though the decision he made might seem to be selfish, but it’s made by the person who made the sacrifice, so she should cherish it. He told her not to get too close to Oska, or "That would be incest". Lol, sigh it makes things sadder when he says funny thingsD: He told her to continue to be cool in the future, and he drove the car off, meeting the storm ahead.

It was super funny to watch Tae Ssun being carted off by Oska like that, and seriously, Tae Ssun is the love. Hahaha:P I guess it was expected on my part to have Ra Im in an accident, because she mentioned that her father told her "Don’t eat dinner and wait for me. I’ll be back home" and then he never did. When Ra Im was shooting the scene, she told the director that "I’ll be back." and I knew it that she would get into a car accidentD: This episode didn’t make me wail, but it does make me sad, and I like the twist in the plot. I used to wonder what’s the point of the body swaps. I mean, sure it provides comic relief for the drama, and makes the both of them closer, but really, what’s the whole point of it all? Now, I finally see how important this body swap is, and I’m interested to see how it played out. I’m willing to ignore the noble sacrifice [ Just Ra Im’s one, because I think that Joo Won’s sacrifice was really good and made it up for the cliche noble sacrifice] if they can play the ending out well. I know that Episode 18 is out, but I have yet to watched it as I typed this entry, so I really hope that they won’t come up with some lame or cliche ending that kills the drama.

[oh phew at this point in time, Livejournal just went crazy again, and I almost lost this entry. PHEW] All right, I’m on to Episode 18!

Secret Garden

That’s just so stupid! Argh Joo Won’s mother is really crazy — I can’t find a single shred of redeeming point in her. So because Ra Im is low class, she will destroy Joo Won’s life? Then how about herself? Oh did I just hear her declare "Watch how I destroy Joo Won’s life." ? 0.0.

Psst

Wow, haha you can see that the busy times I’m talking about are here! [ referring to entries where I mention that I will probably post only once or twice a week, instead of everyday]

I’m going to keep on doing Keizoku 2:SPEC recaps even though I’m pretty busy right now, so be patient for it:D I’ve heard that subs are out on some places, but I still couldn’t find them, so I shall take it that my recaps are still in demand right now(: Even if no one else needed those recaps, I think I’ll still go on, because I don’t like the idea of not finishing what I’ve set out to do haha! Nevertheless, it’ll be great if I have readers, thank you<3

I’m currently reading The Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead, but I’m so reluctant to reach the ending! Like any dramas, I hate it when stories or plots come to an end, because that means I won’t ever know more about those characters and their lives [ sad endings excluded ]. For those who know what I’m talking about, I’m a Dimitri + Rose fan, but I’m sad that Adrian’s heart got broken that way! Gahh. Still, it wasn’t written that well, and to this date, my favourite books of the series are still the first three. The last three felt a little draggy, especially with Blood Promise, that seems more like a filler than anything else.

Sometimes, I’m really curious how my readers imagine myself to be. :O When I used to read recaps from Dramabeans, I was always curious who they’re!:O Now, I think it will be fun to know what you guys think lol, okay maybe not. Will you guys be shocked if I say I’m 5, or 50? [ hahaha no, that’s not my age obviously ].

All right, au revoir! I hope that an entry will come soon:D

Secret Garden Episode 13-16

The body swap is just hilarious, and cute seriously. I mention before that I wasn’t planning on watching Secret Garden at all, because of the body swap, but I’m so thankful that I went on! There was/is [ I don’t know and I don’t care ] an uproar on the scene where Joo Won pushes Ra Im on the bed, which supposedly kills some viewers’ love for this drama, but rest assured, not mine. I really wanted Tae Ssun to be un-gay, but haha since that’s impossible, I just wish that he’ll have a happy ending, because 1. Oska’s definitely not gay and 2. I want Oska to be with Yoon Seul.

Minor Recaps!:D

Pretty!! Ra Im came to the party to tell Joo Won about her decision — which was a yes. Even though she swore by her father’s name that she would not get together with him, she realised that the pain of staying away from him would be even greater. Joo Won was going to tell her his answer, but they were constantly interrupted by people. Oska previously told Seul that he remembered that she liked roasted chestnuts, but she said that the girl he remembered wasn’t her. Now, he gave her cheesecake, with a sense of uncertainty, and Seul also told him that she didn’t like cheesecake.

The atmosphere was so charged, I swear everyone must be dying to kiss someone else hahaha. That’s the first kiss [ points upwards ]

which was watched on by everyone including Yoon Seul and Oska. Oska got one thing right — the piano piece that Seul loved.

That first kiss was followed by a kiss on the forehead, and finally, a series of loving deep kisses. Gosh I feel strangely amused when I wrote that sentence. Trust me, er, I wasn’t as calm as I sounded when I watched that haha!

AHHH JOON HYUK!

A very sweet hug, which would have been even sweeter if Oska’s face wasn’t in the picture.

Ah, I see that the director heard my voice, because that hug was followed by a close up that eliminated Oska’s face from that scene.

HAHAHA Oska’s face is totally covered.

Oska was really down because he felt like he was this really bad guy, and he didn’t do his Christmas concert even though most of his fans didn’t mind. Yoon Seul came to accompany him, and she looked really great. Her make up was smokey, and her hair was let down, which gives her a softer image.

By then, Ra Im and Joo Won had body swapped, and when someone confessed to Ra Im, while Joo Won was in Ra Im’s body, fake Ra Im was really angry, while fake Joo Won put a hand on his mouth in shock, like any girl.

In the end, it was really really sweet, because through out the Christmas party, Ra Im and Joo Won were actually holding hands behind their backs.

Joo Won couldn’t remember Ji Hyun’s handphone number which caused Oska to realise that Joo Won is not Joo Won, because the fact that Ji Hyun’s number is number one on his speed dial, shows how important Ji Hyun is to him. Ra Im, while talking to Director, didn’t know that December 5th was Ra Im’s dad’s death anniversary, and that’s just impossible, thus Director realised the same thing that Oska realised. The four of them met, while the couple revealed the truth. After the meeting ended, fake Ra Im asked fake Joo Won to go to her for a hug, but she was kicked at the shin by fake Joo Won. All this weird stuff [ since it’s usually Ra Im who kicks Joo Won, not the other way round ] was watched on by Director and Oska, which was really funny.

Due to Ra Im [ real this time! ], Joo Won got stuck in an elevator and he had a heart attack [ if I’m not wrong]. While rushing to save Joo Won, Ra Im missed her Dark Blood auditions, and she cried.

Aww, Joo Won just earned more points by hugging her and telling her to trust him.

Funny dialogue here –> Joo Won tried to ask for a favour from Oska, who asked what benefits would he get if he helped him. Joo Won said that he could give him anything and Oska quickly answered "Gil Ra Im"

which was just as quickly replied with a "Go and die". Hahaha love the both of them!

I can’t help but think that the heart on the jacket was to signify Joo Won’s love for Ra Im:D

This was pretty sweet and cute! On the paper, Oska wrote "You are really the one who like roasted chestnuts, isn’t it?" -cocks head to the left- and he ended off this paper conversation with a "You are the prettiest in this room… and I’m the second." LOL!

Can you believe that he acted in Prosecutor Princess before, and I didn’t give him a single glance?? Shows how much a character role and hair and ear studs and cool expression can do.

A cool expression that turns into a smile. That’s just … asking for squeals from us! By the way, yes, Tae Ssun does like Oska, but Oska remains in ignorance.

Joo Won pushes Ra Im on to the bed [ please tell me that didn’t create another uproar=.=] and Ra Im gave him a kiss to make up for all the hugs that she didn’t give him.

The end of the minor recaps!

Anyway, Joo Won managed to bring the director of Dark Blood to watch Ra Im in action while she was working, even though she didn’t know it, so she actually ‘auditioned’. (: However, the director seemed like he had zero interest in Ra Im and thus, Joo Won didn’t tell her anything. In the episode 17 preview though, Ra Im seemed to have gotten past the auditions! I have no way of knowing, because there’re no subs out yetD: We have come to the climax of the show, where Ra Im realised that the person whom her dad died while saving, was actually Joo Won. She seemed like she was going to break up with Joo Won, but I don’t understand why! I mean, she doesn’t look like she hates Joo Won, and it’s just illogical for her to hate Joo Won, not to mention that it wasn’t Joo Won’s fault for getting involved in an elevator accident [ I’m dying of curiosity to find out what really happened ]. I hope Ra Im just needs some time to think, and not because she really hates Joo Won for causing her dad to die, because that will totally just be a cliche, and an illogical flaw.

Sometimes, I really wish that I’m fluent in Korean0.0 Okay wait, I know I’m not the only one(:

Howl’s Moving Castle Review

The one I watched is not English dubbed [ of course! ] because I just cannot stand dubs.

All right, I watched this, and I love it. So what’s the catch of this movie? First, you have a young girl called Sophie who was turned into an old woman. She’s in love with Howl, who seems like he only likes young pretty girls, so a secret there. Second, you have Howl, a wizard, who is really vain and ensures that he is at his best whenever he goes out, so you have a tiny bit of comedy. Third, did I mention that Howl is actually super charming [ and in my opinion ], quite good looking? He has his secrets of his own, so you have a mysterious, dark, handsome good lead. What are you waiting for?

The film starts off with an introduction of Sophie, and within ten minutes or so, the mysterious arrival of Howl, who teaches Sophie how to walk in the air. The pace is just right, with no unnecessary slow pauses. There are a lot of likeable characters, like Turnip, the scarecrow, who is actually under a spell, Markl, Howl’s apprentice and assistant, and Calcifer, the fire demon. Oh right, and not to exclude Howl, the wizard who likes to steal young girls’ hearts. There is a sense of mystery in the film because Sophie wants to break to contract between Calcifer and Howl, except she doesn’t know how.

This film appeals to me because there’re so many secrets in there. I like the characters so much, that I want to watch the secrets being revealed and solved. I think it also wants to tell its viewers to forgive and forget, because Sophie decides to help the Witch of the Waste when she’s stripped of her power, instead of hating her because she was the one who cast a spell on her. However, I guess it didn’t work for me in that sense because the witch suddenly went crazy and wanted to eat Howl’s heart, and that’s a no-no way to get into my good books. However, my takeaway from this film is, ironically, to be forgiving, like Sophie. She does not rub salt in the witch’s wounds when she became a senile old woman. Instead, she takes pity on the witch and even brings her back to the castle. I really like the animation, and the idea of a moving castle that can lead to four different portals just by turning the knob. It’s also always fun and anxious at the same time to see romance blooming from the two main characters.

There are constant changes to the plots – wars, detection by Madame Sulliman, bombs, transformations of Howl, collapsing the castle etc, that it’s certainly a very enjoyable watch. Of course, I’m not saying all of the above just because Howl’s Moving Castle is an internationally acclaimed film. To me, it was really good, and I’m glad that I’ve started my first animation film [ I think ] with Howl’s Moving Castle, because now I have a really good impression. It was also good to realise after wiking, that this film was inspired by Howl’s Moving Castle, which was written by Diane Wynne Jones who have won me over, when I was young, with her Chrestomanci series.

Do give this film a try, and share with me what you’ve thought of it!

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time Review

Yes I just finished watching that!:DD

I watched that after watching Howl’s Moving Castle and Spirited Away [ which I will do reviews later on ], so I had this weird impression that it was directed by Hayao Miyazaki. I think that this movie has similarities when compared to Spirited Away, but I was thinking more of the drawings of the characters. When I realise that this movie was directed by Mamoru Hosoda, whether you want to call it as a trick of mind, I could immediately feel the difference in directing styles. For me, this movie is interesting because it shows what will change if time allows some events to be changed.

Basically, this movie talks about a girl who accidentally chances upon the ability of travelling through time by leaping. At first, she uses it for totally frivolous reasons like acing exams and all, but she soon realises the effects of leaping through time — bringing changes to other people’s lives, in a bad way. There was a twist towards the end, so I highly encourage you guys to watch this!

You know how Harry Potter The Prisoner of Askaban portrays time travelling as something that can change something for the better? [ I love that book πŸ˜› ] I guess in this movie, they portrayed it more like something that we shouldn’t dab with. At least that’s my takeaway, because if anything happens now, we should just face it and solve the problem, instead of time travelling back, because you will change other people’s lives as well. Of course, I’m really glad that Makoto had that time travelling ability because the first leap she took was just…. worth it. It’s the following leaps that kinda spoilt things for her I guess. I really like her friends, Chiaki and Kosuke, and it does put questions in my mind. [okay spoiler ahead, but I’ve changed the question such that you don’t know who I’m talking about:P] If a guy confesses to me like that, I’ve no idea if I’ll do the same thing as what Makoto did. I mean, he’s a friend, wouldn’t it be very awkward? The ending was soooooo sweeet, [ argh I’m dying to quote. Okay I shall quote. Readers, you are forewarned, this is just a plain spoiler. ] especially when he says to her, "I’ll wait for you in the future." I totally melted there and then, even though I had a question after that — does this mean he will be really young when he finally meets her in the future?

Spirited Away and this movie have a similarity in the sense that they both had relatively open endings. They sound like they made a promise, so yes that should be a happy ending, but then yet again, their circumstances and situations make it harder to believe. Hmm. What this movie has taught me though, is that I shall never entertain the thought of I wish I could leap through time because I know, one wrong leap and that’s it, unless that leap is used to save lives then, well done! Length and pace wise, I thought it was quite all right. There wasn’t any slow parts that I wish they could just hurry up, and I actually wish for more scenes. The scenes are quite unforgettable, and the movie might stay in your mind for no particular reason, in a good way.

So, share with me what you thought of the Girl Who Leapt Through Time!

Keizoku 2:SPEC Episode 6 Recap

When my recaps get deleted, I have two kinds of emotions paired with two kind of reactions. Emotion #1: I get really pissed off. Emotion #2: I feel deflated. Reaction #1:I retyped everything again immediately, because I refuse to let technical glitches, or stupid human errors on my part, delay the recap. Reaction #2: I hold the recap off, because I’m tired [ as in literally, my fingers were aching ] of typing. Haha! I guess you could call this case a pairing of Emotion #1 and Reaction #1! In any case, no harm done and my fingers get an extra work out:P

Episode 6 HERE!:D

Keizoku 2:SPEC

Oh wow I just deleted the entire Keizoku 2:SPEC episode 6 recap. I can’t think for nuts why I just keep doing that to myself! I did a backup this time round, I was so cautious but I lost the backup on Microsoft as well. This makes me think that I’m just fated to lose recaps. Gosh.

Secret Garden

Seriously! I just went to a drama recap site [I’m pretty sure you guys know which one] because I had to confirm some stuff about Secret Garden, and I accidentally chanced upon this whole rant on assault. Okay I can see where that was coming from, that dramas and books make us look through this rosy screen until we think that it’s sweet and awww, and that we don’t see the truth behind this scene [ I’m referring to the one where Joo Won pushes Ra Im onto the bed ]. Yet, all Joo Won did was to hug her close! He didn’t even kiss her or anything, and he even showed restrain by chanting that funny thing because he respects her etc. So what’s the big deal?

I’m not targeting anyone, but I just feel like saying "REALLY" in that sarcastic tone. Yes, he pushes her on the bed, yes, she struggles but because he’s a man so he wins, yes, it romanticises the whole thing till we can’t see what’s wrong with it. The truth is, I can’t see what’s wrong with that scene! It’s all got to do with Joo Won’s purpose. He certainly didn’t push her into the bed for the intention of bedding her and he certainly didn’t rape her.  Eew, I feel disgusted just saying the above sentence. I know that he’s a guy and all, but I’m pretty sure that Ra Im could have done some serious physical damage if she really wants to.

I do know cases, though not personal friends of course, where guys assaulted the girl, or gang-raped her, and yet they tried to say that because she was willing, they didn’t do anything wrong. It’s revolting to hear cases like that, but the fact remains that Joo Won never wanted to do anything to Ra Im! He didn’t think of taking advantage [ I’m sure or I will drop this drama like a hot potato ] of Ra Im. So, is it something to do with the bed? If he does the same thing grab her hands, push her, and restrain her  against a pillar, will there still be noises about this scene?

You can’t even say that I’m immature or that I’ve been thoroughly taken in by dramas, because I’m someone who constantly muses about what dramas can do us, and I’ve certainly thought about the issues like dramas turning something black into white. To me, this scene is nothing wrong, because she simply wasn’t raped/ caught in a situation where she’s about to get raped.

Oh wow, I can’t believe I spent my time contributing back to that rant, and I swear, I shall never go back to that drama recap site again. It messes with my thoughts, and it messes with my feelings. Grr.

Secret Garden

OMG I KNEW IT I KNEW IT THAT TAE SSUN IS GAY OMGGGG. Okay I’ve no idea if I should be happy that I feel smart or to be sad for him because I THINK he likes Oska and Oska definitely won’t like him, right?

I actually wanted to say that I thought Tae Ssun is gay in the previous secret garden post. There’s something in the way he looks at Oska… it’s like a guy looking at a girl if you know what I mean, then I suspected so even more when he says that he’s worried about Oska. Does this mean that the actor of Tae Ssun is really good? Or that I’m smart hee hee!:D Okay ego aside, maybe he’s not gay at all. Hmm we shall see how, but in the meanwhile, let me bask in the joy of guessing the right thing lol.

Secret Garden Episode 8 – 13

I’m actually barely into episode 13, but anyway, OSKA JUST MADE ME TEAREDDDDDDDDDDDD.

I think it’s nice that Seul and Woo Young still love each other, instead of like a typical Korean Drama where second female lead and second male lead are both deeply in love with the leads. I think this drama is special in a sense, because they didn’t use a lot of the cliches. For example, Joo Won is more like a ‘girl’ in that sense than Ra Im, everything in terms of action, stamina, attitude etc… gosh I’m in a love-hate relationship with Joo Won. He’s such a jerk!!!!!!!!!! It’s like he still has no idea how to respect others and he always goes about doing things on his own. He doesn’t know when he has hurt others, and when to apologise. Yet, he can be so sweet at times that I will squeal. ARGH. I think I’m on a more stable relationship with Woo Young lol.

That cracked me up entirely. HAHAHA.

The whole set up makes him look like a real celeb!:O

AWWWWW

Can you see the hurt in his eyes?D:

Was that meant to make us squeal?:O

SQUEAL! [ It was kind of sudden though… if a guy that I don’t like does that to me… I don’t know… I will probably scream and punch him. :O ]

HAHA squeezing to get out of the gate first.

This is like… the gathering of all males who like Ra Im. Kinda… I sincerely hope that Woo Young won’t fall in love with Ra Im.

LOL Ra Im laughs at Oska’s jokes and both the Director and Joo Won look at her in surprise, and I’m pretty sure, a tinge of disgust.

πŸ˜€

I really hope that the misunderstanding will be cleared up as soon as possible!:O In any case, I was glad to see the cameo appearance of Lee Joon Hyuk in Secret Garden<3 [ even though he’s the bad guy, he’s a really good looking badass hee hee ]

New Year…

A year is drawing to a close! This year, I’ve went through so many things, and survived. I’ve grown up a little, I’ve set up thoughtsramble, I went through examinations [ while watching Playful Kiss even when examinations were just on the next day. -guilt- ] I met new friends, and kept in contact with the old ones…. I did things that were memorable.

Thoughtsramble, when it first started out, was quite sad… with like 0 readers, or at its best, 2 readers per day. Yet I continued writing because I don’t know… I just like it, and slowly the readership builds up. I started to recap on Playful Kiss, and the readership shot up. I get comments, and new readers. Then, Playful Kiss ended, and the readership drops again, but way better than when I first started. I still write about everything that I’ve watched, because I know I have readers that keep coming back [ Thank you so much!^^ ] and I love writing for them. Now, I suppose it’s luck/another phase of the readership, because it’s now even higher than the period of time when I did recaps for Playful Kiss. I’m happy:D

So that was to tell you guys, that I’m glad I didn’t give up on this livejournal months ago, and it was all thanks to your support really. In the new year to come, I hope that I can continue to write entries that are good and entries that you will want to recommend to your friend. πŸ˜€

I figured that it will be fun to write a profile entry in the next post πŸ˜› So, look forward to that!

In the meantime, what’s your new year’s resolutions?
