Hanazakari no Kimitachi e 2011 Remake Review

I’m not sure how many people actually know about this, but yes Hana Kimi has a Japanese Remake! (Okay to be honest, I can’t really remember why I knew that there was a remake either:O)

It’s a relatively new drama with only five episodes out, and so far, four episodes subbed. Of course, having a remake isn’t an easy job, especially when there’s already a Japanese version merely four years ago, which was super famous and spurred Toma Ikuta and other leads to quite high grounds. So comparison is inevitable, and I will be doing that too!

I’ve watched both the Japanese Hana Kimi and Taiwanese Hana Kimi. For the Taiwan version, I really like the OST and Jiro inside. As for the Japanese version, the overall was really good — nonsensical but funny. In this Remake of Hana Kimi, Maeda Atsuko takes the role of Ashiya, Nakamura Aoi for Sano and Miura Shohei as Nakatsu. I will have to admit that Horikita Maki makes a cuter Mizuki, and Toma Ikuta’s rendition of Nakatsu remains my favourite, but this means that (even though this could either be an compliment or an insult) it makes more sense for people not to suspect that Mizuki is a girl. Which is far more logical! I mean, even with cropped hair, Horikita Maki still looks like a girl — a very cute girl in fact, whereas for Maeda Atsuko, she doesn’t strike me as particularly cute, not even with long hair on her… so it does make much more sense that no one suspects her true gender.

To be honest, I like Remake’s Sano better than the Sano in the 2007’s Hana Kimi. Because of his looks, and some tweaks in the plot, Nakamura Aoi’s portrayal of Sano is kinda different from Oguri Shun — which again, can be a good or bad thing depending on each individual. I like this Sano because of the slight changes in his character, and besides I’ve always felt that Oguri Shun looks too mature as Sano. But that’s me, there are others who felt that Oguri Shun manages to bring out the cold aura of Sano much better than Nakamura Aoi, who has a smaller statue.

I find it quite cool that the poster for the 2007’s version and this one is the same:P with the same set used for acting.
Plot-wise, expect some twists and changes done. Of course! There must be something different, or there will be not much point watching a Japanese version again. I personally don’t mind it. In fact, those changes make the plot more logical, while retaining its fun at the same time. There’s just something about the Japanese Dramas, that allow themselves that element of fun, don’t you think? It’s funny to watch the characters in Hana Kimi cross-dress and I don’t know, lots of funny festivals, sports events and what-not that spurred the plot forward. This is why I’m not looking that forward to SM’s version in the future. I mean….. Kdramas…. are just not that type! -sorry, instantaneous flashback of City Hunter hahahahah- I’m definitely going to watch its version with an open mind, and I will praise it with no qualms if it does do a good job. That is, if it does a good job and not depend solely on its charismatic and popular cast to pull the ratings. (:

I’m hooked on the Remake that’s for sure….but whether that was by virtue of this version of the story, or because the story itself is appealing, I have no idea. Oh well!

When more episodes are up and subbed, I might even do recaps.

Updates~

I’ve been spending the past ten minutes grinding my brain juices to come up with a new title, but neh, you can see that I didn’t succeed. One of my readers gave a good suggestion of ‘Talk’, and I was thinking of ‘Thoughts’ but both just don’t fit as well as you know…… good ole pure Updates. Hahaha:P We will see howXD

I always like to tweak certain things on my livejournal layout from time to time, because it gives me a new, fresh perspective on my livejournal…. and I always hope that they are improvements. For one, the note on the Sticky Note has been altered if you realise(: and I’ve also changed the name of ‘comments’ to ‘rambles’ which kind of suit nicely to my livejournal name^^ Yeahh(Y)

As to what I’ve been doing lately… I’ve been coming up with City Hunter trivia and City Hunter Recaps, and updating more frequently than usual (almost as fast as my usual speed last year). This is because I will be quite absent from next, next week onwards because of my studies and commitments, so I wanted to make it up to you guys by posting more regularly these few days!:D I’m coming to a close with City Hunter Recaps, and I foresee dramabluesX2, with the last 2 episodes being such a.. heartbreak.

I’ve also realised that my Pi Li MIT/The Clue Collector Recaps have come to a hiatus. Indeed, because as I’ve explained last time, I’m not very sure if anyone actually needed those recaps; I’m just writing them for my own entertainment and any readers’ entertainment. I will continue writing them at some point in time, but probably not now.

I’m watching Prosecutor Princess for a second time right now, and it’s still as lovely and enjoyable as ever! πŸ˜€ It remains as one of my favourite dramas ever. I’m also watching Hana Kimi Remake right now, and I’ll probably do a review in the next few days. Look out for it!^^ Majo Saiban’s review is out, so if you wanna read that, please do.

All right, that’s about it. Remember that yours truly is suckers for comments, so please do leave a comment whenever you come!:D

Dilemma

Gosh sometimes I wish that I think it through more carefully haha. I’m currently in this dilemma…. of thinking if I should go forth and make a decision. If I do, it comes off as hypocritical because after all, I’ve voiced out my opinions about why I dislike it….and to accept it now, wouldn’t it seem as if I have two sides? And I don’t like that, because one shouldn’t be hypocritical at all…. but while my opinions still remain the same, it doesn’t mean that I have to restrict myself just because of my opinions right? Besides, if I don’t ever try, I won’t ever know…

Haha yes you can see that I’m stuck. Brilliant.

Lee Min Ho’s Interview about City Hunter

Q: The style in City Hunter is totally different from Boys Over Flowers and Personal Preference. What is your emphasis on acting in City Hunter?

A:I think that it should be the relationship between characters. As the plot develops, Lee Young Sung and Kim Young Joo’s relationship gradually changes. When Kim Young Joo’s father had an accident because of Lee Yoon Sung, it seems that it should be tense between the both of them after that. However, if one recalls the relationship between these two people, Lee Yoon Sung will naturally feel guilty, because after all, it is because of him that Kim Young Joo’s father met with the car accident. While acting this out, I don’t want to ignore the interactions between people.

Q:If the script has a clash with the understanding that you had of a character, how would you solve it?

A: Firstly, I will think it through carefully. If I have a very clear idea or thought, I will mention it for us to discuss. Actually, this has something to do with my character. Usually, I like to dwell over it first, before asking for opinions from other people.

Q: Lee Yoon Sung’s actions seem to be different from other heros, somewhat less amazing.

A: This has also got to do with my character. When I express myself, I don’t like to force it on other people, even when I’m angry, I will also wish to express it in a calm manner. So even when it’s a very forceful action, I don’t like to complete it in a too attention-seeking manner. Playing with the spoon, and the scene filmed at the staircase, are the classical scenes in my heart, especially when filming the staircase scene, there was dim lighting with tight space, but it was extremely satisfying to portray such a pressing scene in that kind of environment. The bigger it is, the more it should be expressed quietly.

Q: It’s been said that you don’t really use body doubles. There are many dangerous scenes?

A: I completed 80% to 90% of the scenes myself. There are body doubles used when there are scenes such as falling from great heights, but actually, I will also like to have a taste of such a challenging action scene.

Q: Lee Yoon Sung lives because of revenge, he thirsts for warmth of a family, and cares for societal problems. How should one express such a complicated character?

A: Lee Yoon Sung is very lonely, as a revenge tool, he must hurt others. Knowing this causes him to live very difficultly. I will add in the loneliness that Actor Lee Min Ho felt before into the acting, and based on "loneliness", I will modify the method of portrayal when facing different characters, so as to present the most natural Lee Yoon Sung.

Q: Lee Yoon Sung wants to lead a peaceful life, what about you? Can you relate to his thinking?

A: In my opinion, Lee Yoon Sung is really pitiful. He couldn’t choose the way he wants to live since he was born, and he didn’t get any fatherly love. It’s natural for such a person to wish to lead a peaceful life.

Q: While acting out Lee Yoon Sung’s loneliness, did you think about your own loneliness?

A: Actually, I used to like interacting with strangers, and I like being liked and accepted by many people, however I became gradually more introverted. Even now, I will intentionally avoid those that I don’t want to see, and it comes to a point where I don’t really know how to greet those friends whom I’ve not met for a long time. Sometimes I feel that it’s not bad to live like this, as long as I still want to be an actor, I guess I will need to tolerate this kind of loneliness during daily life?

Q: You got famous from Boys Over Flowers, and now with City Hunter, you have reached even greater heights in your career. What meaning does this work has for you?

A: Before, Boys Over Flowers allows me to become a shining star, while City Hunter gave me a chance to show the capability of an actor. It can be said that I have taken yet another step towards being an actor. After City Hunter, I’ve received many scripts, with different plots. It’s thanks to this drama, that my career in acting has taken progress.

Q: What understanding do you have towards acting?

A: Being an actor means that one should freely express one’s feelings, no matter whether is it within a two, three hours of movie or a twenty episode drama, as long as the actor portrays the character’s feelings, and conveys the emotions to the audience, he can be counted as a qualified actor, but this is really difficult (laughs). However, no matter what kind of character it is, an actor’s sincerity is a must.

Q: What expectations do you have towards the next work?

A: I want to try characters that allow space for exploration. A thug with nothing to do, or even like Twilight, living in a magical world.

Q: The reason for wanting to try out these characters are?

A: Ever since high school, I’ve been living the way I want, it was only after I became an adult that I’ve learnt restrain, so I want to find the feeling of the past in my works. Fans will also anticipate seeing the real me? I believe that after acting these kind of characters, I will have the confidence to do even better.

Q: You are already at an age of twenty-odd. Right now, do you wish to become more mature quickly?

A: Many male actors can’t wait to be in their thirties, but I rather like the stage I am in now, where it’s in between a youth and an adult. I don’t wish to be stuck in the same kind of character. Many people said that a man’s charm will only shine after his thirties, but this means that there will be a loss of youth, and I will also be sad. Actually, I really dislike the feeling of the time flying past. (laughs)

-the end-

Here’s the second part of the interview that I translated in the previous post! Translating these articles take time out from me writing the recaps, hence you can see that my City Hunter Recaps aren’t coming as quick (much as I wish to have a relaxed life, there’s only so much time I could take to write sigh. ) But it was fun reading what went through Lee Min Ho’s mind!

Lol when I read this article, my first thought was, "OMG he wants to act in a show somewhat like Twilight? NO WAY." Lol I have nothing against Twilight, but please no, imagining Lee Min Ho as a character like Edward Cullen is just too painful. Of course, hahaha I think he only meant it in a sense that he wouldn’t mind acting as a character in an imaginary world, not that he wanted to be Edward Cullen per se. Hahaha:P

Ah ah, did you see that sentence where he said he’d completed most of the action scenes? Ah respect for the actor mannn:D I guess most actors couldn’t even carry out those action scenes partly because they are actors and they couldn’t risk the chance of them getting injured in the course of acting, and also because I believe most actors wouldn’t be able to even carry out those actions anyway. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure it isn’t that easy to do somersaults on cars, or to push oneself off the wall to give the bad guy a kick:O Even Park Min Young looks great doing her karate/taekwando/judo flips (which I absolutely love).

So yes, I’m looking forward to Lee Min Ho’s next choice of drama. (Though I will miss Yoon Sung desperately, not mention Nana, Young Joo, Sae Hee, Shik Joong etc) I believe that it will be something to look forward to^^

Lee Min Ho expresses regrets at the incomplete love in City Hunter

More trivia on Lee Min Ho and City Hunter:

Q: Heard that while filming City Hunter, you were hurt by the pieces of explosion. How’s the recovery?
A:There were two sites of explosion on the set. Perhaps there was too much explosives, after the explosion, the glass shards hurt my leg. I’m better now, but actually I have a lot of injuries everywhere, I still feel that it’s tough (laughs)

Q:In City Hunter, it ends with the foster father dying, and Lee Yoon Sung living on. Towards this ending, what’s your views?

A:This ending suits Lee Yoon Sung’s character very well. Yoon Sung is someone who doesn’t know how to be selfish. It’s not realistic for him to live on happily when his foster father died. The best ending will be like what happened in the drama, he still stays around in the city, leaving people the grave impression of the view of his back. But after that, perhaps Lee Yoon Sung will get his happiness (laughs) like the original works, it’s good to live a normal life.

Q:In the big ending, Lee Yoon Sung and his foster father reached a mutual understanding. What feelings did you incorporate when you acted out this scene?

A:The feelings are constantly built up throughout the twenty episodes, of course there’s a need to separate those feelings at a certain instant. If his feelings suddenly soften when facing his foster father, then the audience will not be able to connect easily. Lee Jin Pyo kept his strong image from the start to the last. I feel that if one wants to oppose Jin Pyo, it’s needed to show the side other than the strong one. It will be hard to act well if there’s only strength in the eyes. That scene’s one big characteristic is the sadness and anger that was endured silently when facing Jin Pyo. After knowing that he was abducted, by using the awl to self-mutilate, this really shows that Yoon Sung’s feelings have reached an explosive point. After that, he starts to understand his foster father more and more.

Q:You have decided very early that you wanted to act in this drama. Is there any difference between the Yoon Sung that you’ve imagined, and the one that is now presented in front of the audience?

A:At the very start, I imagined this character to be more depressed, a dark person who met Kim Nana, and started working at the Blue House, and gradually got cheerful. But in reality, it progressed in a totally opposite direction (laughs). While working with the director, I learn that an action drama fails very easily, so it must be supported with romance, that’s why there were many quarrels scenes added at the start of the drama.

Q: There is a lot of variation in the relationship between Yoon Sung and Nana, which also challenges one’s acting skills. You seem to have put in all the acting skills that you have accumulated all this while?

A: The quarrel scenes with Kim Nana is like bickering in all the dramas between the leads, and I’m very familiar with that. There’s some scenes that I have no idea how to act, then I will trust the director completely, besides, Park Min Young is a very talented partner. However, Yoon Sung didn’t face Nana with a more mature attitude in the end… I personally feel that it’s regretful. After revealing his identity to Kim Nana, the relationship between the two seems to have stopped progressing, and in the end, he only told Kim Nana to "Wait for me".

-end-

There’s actually a second part to this interview which I will translate some time(: Haha this is one of the rare dramas where I actually found interviews that really reveal the thought that went behind producing the drama!

Aww poor Lee Min Ho haha, he got injured?:O But I bet he will always strive to work harder despite his injuries, I don’t know why, I just have this impression that he is very goal-oriented…. which is a good thing. I personally feel that the scene between Jin Pyo and Yoon Sung was really well done. There was this air of grief and regret hanging in the air between them, while Nana cries at the side, and when they held hands and looked into each other’s eyes… and Jin Pyo gave a small smile… it was a really good interpretation of the scene I felt.

Haha so they do know that action dramas will not succeed easily? That’s why I said that the scriptwriter was really smart to incorporate all those elements together — action and romance. Without the action part in this drama, I’m sure City Hunter wouldn’t be so successful as it is now. Though of course, if you think about the other side, City Hunter probably wouldn’t even be remotely famous if there’s no relationship between Kim Nana and Yoon Sung (I will be the first to protest… hahaha kidding. But Kim Nana and Yoon Sung is one of my favourite couples:D)

Lol and it’s nice to know that if Lee Min Ho was a real City Hunter in reality, the Kim Nana in his life wouldn’t have to go through the same fate as what Kim Nana had to go through in City Hunter. Haha^^

And lolol Park Min Young and Lee Min Ho really have very good screen chemistry!:DD

Lee Min Ho willing to participate in City Hunter Season 2

Oh wow. I never thought I'd be doing this, but oh well, it's good to have variation in one's livejournal^^

I've been searching for more trivia regarding City Hunter, and I came across this interview which says that Lee Min Ho will be happy to take part in a Season 2. This interview also gives his interpretation of the ending:

" Adapted from the manga, City Hunter, the drama has garnered attention because of its focus on social issues. The only flaw is its ambiguous ending at the end of the drama regarding the romance, and this has been criticised by some members of the public, to the point of the theory of "Lee Min Ho's spirit".

Regarding this, Lee Min Ho expressed, "There are indeed many regrets in the drama's romance. After kissing Kim Nana, City Hunter's identity was found out by others. From then on, the relationship between the two has no progress; for Kim Nana to wait till the five people were punished is also regretful."

"Even though I can understand the City Hunter Lee Yoon Sung's feelings, but I also feel that maybe he can use another more mature method to settle this relationship, to break up and then return, and also saying that they cannot be together because of danger…this makes me very perplexed."

However, the ending in the drama is exactly as how Lee Min Ho imagines it. "After experiencing such great emotional pain, if Yoon Sung could still be happy and lively, the audience would probably feel that he's selfish… so, it fits my imagination that it ends with Yoon Sung, who has experienced so much, driving through the city."

"But I've also imagined if the drama ends with death. In the original works, the main character didn't die, but together with the director, we imagined an ending where Yoon Sung lost his memory due to the gunshot. It's most memorable with a death. We even thought of having Yoon Sung not knowing whether he's dead or alive, with a blank memory as an ending."

Due to the ambiguous ending of City Hunter, the public has strong anticipation towards a second season. Regarding this, Lee Min Ho reveals, "I don't know if there are any plans regarding a second season, but if there's a chance to show new sides of the City Hunter, I will gladly participate." "

Taken from http://news.yule.com.cn/html/201108/95183.html

Any thoughts anyone? Just at the top of this entry, I've mentioned that I've never done this kind of entries before, because usually my livejournal focuses pretty much on the dramas' aspect — meaning reviews, thoughts, recaps, rambles on dramas alone. But I'd loved having different kind of entries sometimes — it's fun to write them and nice to share with you guys(: So there goes the translation of the interview above!

I'm glad that I see the same interpretation as Lee Min Ho. While most of my friends who watched the last episode told me that they don't really like the ending because it's kinda random to end with Yoon Sung driving alone through the night in a pensive mood, what I really felt was that it's very appropriate. Yoon Sung has gone through so much, from becoming a City Hunter, to actually carrying out the revenge. No matter how much he disagrees with Jin Pyo, he still treats him like a father, and calls him Dad till the very end. Of course, he wouldn't be able to be so happy and cheerful I guess.

Even though this interview doesn't prove that there's going to be a season 2, but it's nice to know that he's willing to participate if there are plans for it. They should!:O Use the same scriptwriter and director please, I love them. The only sad thing will be… if there's a second season, there will be no Lee Joon Hyuk. Sigh. Oh well.

Might be doing more of this kind of trivia as well. Look forward to them!

Majo Saiban Review

Starring Ikuta Toma alongside with Kato Ai and Higa Manami (from Code Blue).

Yay, if I’m not wrong, this is the first dorama that I’ve watched from the start till the end since agessss… as usual, once I’m taken up with a drama, I will finish it in a matter of days and probably write a review on it. So here goes(:

Toru (Ikuta Toma) is a part time designer who gets chosen to be one of the seven juries. Even though the majo, translated as the witch, appeared to be guilty for sure, one by one, each jury starts choosing "non guilty". Turns out that there is a secret professional organisation which takes care of this kind of matters, such as finding the bane of each jury, so as to threaten them. Toru starts trying to find out the truth, and becomes friends with Izumi (Kato Ai) , another member of the jury. However, Kaori (Higa Manami), Toru’s girlfriend, suspects their relationship and things start changing.

One thing worth mentioning is that I really feel that doramas are really good with all the matters of brain!! They have super awesome detective stories like Kindaichi (sorry neh, aint a fan of Conan), and then brainers like Liar Game and Death Note, and they do super well with the creepiness of the plot (Friends assure me that Japanese horror movies are simply heart-stopping).

I wouldn’t say that I love Majo Saiban, partly because of the ending, and also because it was getting a leeetle repetitive. But it was definitely an enjoyable watch. Kaori went a bit weird in the head and watching her being psycho in the wee hours isn’t particularly comforting.

For Majo Saiban, it doesn’t play so much in terms of being a brainer, but rather, it toys with the creepiness of the plot. (aforementioned creepy Kaori) They also did a good job with the main instrumental and main track of the drama, the former successfully instilling a scary atmosphere, and the second one suits the plot very well when the drama is heading towards another direction.

The way Toru speaks/ Ikuta Toma speaks, constantly reminds me of Naoki/Yamapi in Buzzer Beat! Haha, even the hairstyle is about the same:P (Oh well they are best friends after all) Toru and Izumi are rather fixed characters, meaning to me, acting them out wouldn’t require nothing much out of the ordinary — they can still be in their comfort zone, but Higa Manami rather impresses me with her acting, especially the parts where the camera zoomed into her eyes and all she could act with was her pair of eyes.

So would I recommend it for you guys to watch? To me, it isn’t a must-watch, but it is quite cool to watch this drama, because the plot line is very different from the usual kind of dramas you have (hahah doramas are always quite different) and it is quite a good drama. Besides, no matter how much I dislike the ending, I shall begrudgingly add that it does make a memorable ending.

Lee Min Ho in action

Lol I’ve been wanting to do this post for quite a long time, because I’ve been watching so many behind the scenes and funny NGs that I wanna share with you guys here!

So in relation to the previous post, yep Lee Min Ho leaps around the cars, especially in the junkyard scene, HIMSELF:DDD So exciting to know that hahahaha.

credited to: http://www.askactor.com

" City Hunter’s” martial arts director Yang Kil Young stated, “While Lee Min Ho’s tall height is a disadvantage for stunts, his agility and reflexes help him create superb action scenes. Additionally, he puts in a lot of effort and does not spare himself. Working with him was a rewarding experience, and I enjoyed it.” "

Aahhhhh allow me to fangirl for a while:D I mean I have nothing, absolutely nothing I think, against actors/actresses who use stuntmen/women because after all, actors are meant to act, in a sense, not fight but this is why it’s so amazing to see actors who are so professional in their jobs ( I don’t just mean Lee Min Ho here, I refer to Park Min Young and Lee Joon Hyuk as well, and all the other past actors whom I’ve seen) that they don’t mind getting thrown about or risking injuries just to present the best visuals or plot to their audience!(:

credited to: woraluck

And this is the behind the scenes I refer to for junkyard scene! If you can find one with better quality, feel free to tell me and I will add it to my post anytime:D

Hee I’m not that surprised that he didn’t use a body double because…okay I don’t know why I’m not….probably because Lee Min Ho always strikes me as an actor with a lot of determination and perseverance to succeed. But to see it in action is really awesome! I’m pretty that it’s not that easy to do rotations and kicks and runs on cars right0.0 and with just a few months of training, he could act out the punching/taekwando/judo/karate/whatever scenes so well! (I don’t care that some people say it’s too exaggerated, go away shoo) Ooh and just for your information, I cried again while watching this behind the scenes where Young Joo had a lot of blood and got hit on the head. T.T Lol. (Advanced tear tap)

If you will like to take anything, such as but not limited to: photos, videos, quotes etc, regarding behind the scenes and NGs, or simply trivia about City Hunter (in fact this applies to any dramas thanks), please credit to thoughtsramble first, and remember to credit the source I’ve stated as well. I’ve a really bad experience with someone, a total random stranger, who took my personal entry and changed a few words here and there to publish it as her own. So well, I trust that you guys won’t want to inflict the same -insert dramatic tears flowing out- trauma to me again right?! Hahaha neh I’m joking….but not about the credits.

πŸ˜›

I might do this kind of posts again, if I find any goodies to share! In fact I did view a few more videos with Lee Min Ho doing the kicks and rotations himself, but the videos are mixed in with other kinds of behind the scenes, so I won’t put them in here. Maybe in other posts.

See yah! Any commentsXD

City Hunter

OMGG okay I’m totally working on City Hunter Recaps:D But I’m also watching Behind the scenes and NGs of City Hunter (I LOVE WATCHING BEHIND THE SCENES, just sayingXD Who’s with me lol. ) and and and ah okay I know that Lee Min Ho didn’t use a stuntman for his actions, but still it’s so cool to watch the behind the scenes and see Lee Min Ho personally doing all the turns on the cars and props HIMSELF!

I mean obviously, I know that his fist is not so strong in real life that he could smash a window/a mirror, and that even though the City Hunter could defeat so many opponents, in reality, they are not even fighting, but it’s just very cool to me to see Lee Min Ho running on cars and leaping from here to there in reality :DD

City Hunter Episode 15 Recap

Haha I’m determined not to drag City Hunter’s recaps longer than is necessary…. but each recap brings me closer to the last 2 episodes which were major heartaches! (Lol if you’d follow me long enough, you’d have recalled how I put off writing Love Buffet Recaps for the last three episodes simply because I didn’t want to rewatch how the stupid Xiao Feng chose Da Ye over Ah Yi. Hrumph.)

Yoon Sung and Nana!:D City Hunter Recap here

Updates:D

Lol I really should come up with a special name for these kind of posts other than a plain old ‘Updates’ Haha!

Anyway, lately I’ve been watching Majo Saiban, a jap drama which I will probably do a review on in good time… recapping City Hunter’s episodes (Episode 14 is out, have a look!), trying to start on Hayate the Combat Butler but I’m rather unused to watching nonsensical elements hahah! Well it takes some time to get un-used to City Hunter/ Majo Saiban’s kind of plot, so I guess…. yep I will try to get back into the rom-coms again lol. Thinking of getting restarted on Heartstrings as well, especially since Yong Hwa looks really good there together with Park Shin Hye but I really hope things pick up soon, or I will just die at the end of episode 3 again.

Any good dramas to recommend?XD

Updates!

Helloooo:D

Well it seems that Livejournal is up again -crossing fingers hoping that I did.not.jinx.it-

Even though it’s up again, it’s unfortunate that I can’t post any recaps yet:P because of my busy schedule and everything, but they will come soon, I promise! City Hunter Recaps Episode 12 and 13 are out from here, do read it and tell me what you think of it(:

Busy schedule = often finding times to relax one’s brain. I’m currently watching Majo Saiban, a jap drama starring Ikuta Toma! It’s quite good and quite satisfactory in terms of the genre considering that I’m still in a post-City-Hunter phase. Haha! I will perhaps do review on it when I have some timeXD

Haha just visited dangermousie.lj a day ago. It has been such a long time since I caught up with her livejournal!! Reading it makes me feel like time passes super fast! Because she’s one of the first people I know on Lj here. Ah… time is short. No, I did not just sprout three words that made me sound like I’m going to die soon or something.

Yes you can see that I’m in this totally random rambling mood. Shall spare you from further torture; see you soon!

<3thoughtsramble

A Teaser^^

Hahaha since I’d be super busy this whole entire week, how about some screenshots for the sweet and memorable moments in the next recap? πŸ˜€

When Nana hugged Yoon Sung from the back and told him it’s all right.

When Yoon Sung pulled Nana down towards him, and you and I got very fangirl-ish:D

When Yoon Sung looked up and smiled, because it’s Nana

and Nana saw the smile

See you guys soon!

P.S Oh man I really wish for City Hunter Season 2. The ending allows for it totally!!!!!!

(More than) A Year’s Anniversary

OH WOW it only just occured to me to check when I started thoughtsramble, and I was amazed to find out that it was created on the 9th of June 2010… which it means that I’ve written on this platform for more than a year and two months. 0.0

Hahah would just like to thank all my readers out there for accompanying me for such a long time. I created this livejournal with a hopeful heart and then was quite disappointed with the lack of readers, not because I wanted internet popularity, but because I felt like I was talking to a wall. Then I started Playful Kiss recaps, realised that I actually do have more readers than I thought ( sorry, here’s an IT noob who had been checking the wrong lj stats for months initially) and I knew that my readership would go down again after Playful Kiss…but by then, I realise that readership is relative… comments matter more to me, and that’s why I’m always happy when someone leaves a comment. No matter how busy I am, I’m sincere with all my replies, and it’s okay if you guys wanna stop the conversation halfway, just know that I will always be willing to chat with you guys!

Readership reaches a peak when I did two (or was it three) popular dramas’ recap at the same time, but at that time, I could afford the effort. As days go by and I’m busier and busier, it takes more effort to even post that regularly but I insist. It’s true when I say that I don’t really care about readership, or I will be sobbing at how it is now as compared to last time (okay maybe not…), but it is encouraging to read comments on my recaps because I know that someone out there is reading them. (Here’s someone a tad cynical who doesn’t really believe what her stats tell her at times^^)

A year and two months… that’s a long time. In this period of time, I watched loads and loads of dramas, did loads and loads of reviews and recaps, not to mention having loads and loads and loads and loads (okay you get the idea) of screencaps πŸ˜› My writing style changes, and as I would like to think, matures from the very first review I did.

So here’s a big thank you for my readers who have been with me since the very first few months, and those who started reading this just a few months/a few weeks ago, you guys all matter to me:D Haha and last time when I had the time, I would use to check my lj stats so I sorta recognise the usernames of lj accounts that always come back (BUT DIDN’T COMMENT HMM:< hahaha kidding!) thanks to you guys too!:D I started out full of doubt, sure that I would fail with the dominance of successful recap blogs like dramabeans, but hey, it doesn’t matter anymore. It didn’t matter ever since I know that thoughtsramble is far more successful than I imagined^^

City Hunter Episode 12 Recap

HELLO YOU GUYS!! I’m so so sorry for how late these recaps are coming! Livejournal has been really hard to handle…. not that I blame the moderators or what you call them, but it’s getting irritating since for the past one week to two weeks that there are a lot of issues with it. D: Anyway, here’s another treat for you guys (and me :P)! from Weibo.

Hee hee. Okay now the thing proper.

City Hunter Recap. Love Yoon Sung +Nana!!

Rarh!

So sorry guys!! I know that I’ve been inactive for like 2 weeks, the longest ever, but other than my own committments, it’s really not my fault. I’ve been trying to come up with City Hunter Recaps but now, the great Livejournal has an internal server error so I can’t upload any screenshots.

Really ask for your understanding!

Have a good day!

CITY HUNTER

GOSH I just finished watching the last 2 episodes, and it’s so good!!!!

Aaaaahhh I want to cry lol. Lol in fact I cried loads for the last 2 episodes. I wish there would be more romance, but the action was really good. Omggg wow this drama is really one of the better ones that I’ve seen! The last two episodes didn’t kill the drama for me, unlike Secret Garden where I don’t really like the last episode. Aaahhhh.

Drama blues drama blues D:

And how do you ask me to continue watching rom coms such as Heartstrings (no offense)? Maybe after a while yes, but right now haha it’s very weird to watch dramas with not much plot other than the romance side. Ah, I think City Hunter is successful because of its mix of genres. It focuses a lot on the plot which takes place around revenge, but nothing like an-ex-wife-seeking-revenge-on-cheating-husband. Nope, it’s something that is bigger and more exciting. Add in a heavy dose of romance along the side, and then it’s really good. Of course, you’ve gotta have good actors and actresses together with good scriptwriters, and I believe they have managed to do that!

Now for me to do recaps when I have time :/

Is it just me, or does the ending of City Hunter have any particular meaning?? Like a season 2 or something? :O Hahaha hopeful me πŸ˜›

UpdateX2

Heyo!!

I’m so sorry hahah the previous post was disjointed because while posting halfway, Livejournal died one. :/ It seems like this problem is not there anymore (please hope I didn’t jinx this) and I really WISH THAT I WILL CAN get into Livejournal everytime I log in, thank youXD

Really really busy these days because I have far too many committments and study work. I’m really so sorry!

City Hunter’s last 2 episodes are out, anyone has watched them yet?

Update!

Hello my dear readers!

Sorry for the lack of active posts from me for the past week — have been sick and busy with things!! (I currently sound like a man lolol)

City Hunter is coming to a close this week, are you guys sad? I know I definitely am! This is one drama that’s going to stay in my top favourites list, provided that the last 2 episodes are really good. πŸ˜€ Also, I’ve started watching Heartstrings, the one with Jung Yong Hwa and Park Shin Hye. Okayy, it’s not bad……but it feels really strange watching Heartstrings, a typical rom com, while watching City Hunter which has so much more plot. 0.0 Hur hur but whoo my liking for Shin Woo has been carried over to a bias towards YongHwa so I’m still going to continue watching Heartstrings. Hopefully it interests me at the end of episode 3, or not, it will be an official buh-bye from me!

Updates

Hello readers!

Yes haha here’s some updates on me! I’m currently watching City Hunter, and doing recaps on it. Toda Erika’s drama is going to be watched slowly instead… I kinda tried watching K One which was pretty funny but it’s too nonsensical for me to watch hee hee every episode because honestly I was really watching for Aaron. Yes, talking about Aaron…my recaps aren’t coming as fast as I hope because for the past few days I’ve been focusing a lot of time and energy on this particular whirlwind. Wu Zun has left Fahrenheit! This has caused such dramatic reactions in fans, that now some fans are targetting Aaron… so well, I’m kinda focusing on that right now, so apologies!

MIT recaps are something that I do when I feel like it, because I feel that I’m purely writing it to share with you guys(: Just asking, is there anyone out there who haven’t watched it? Well you should!

My break is going to be over pretty soon, so I will be back with the hectic life of assignments and work, but I will still take time out to write and update! This break of mine… wasn’t really a break sigh so I don’t feel very refreshed zzz.

Dramas are really… still the best form of escape. (and books, shall do a short review on Mixed Magics when I have time(:)
